2005 Chrysler Pacifica, started having problems at 50,000 miles. ABS sensors had to be replaced and recall for fuel module...but most upsetting the car stalls at low speeds or while making turns..ie: Pulling into parking spaces, etc.. I have brought it to dealership and like many others without engine light on they cannot duplicate problem, therefore we are sent on our way with no fix!! I have 4 children and I am terrified to drive this car!! why wont Chrysler stand behind these vehicles!!!

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that she has been experiencing failures with the fuel tank. Whenever she attempts to add fuel to the vehicle, it will not take more than five gallons, and the dial never indicates that it is more then 3/4 full. Also, the dial will move from half a tank down to empty within 60 miles. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer more than six times and they replaced the level kit sensor, which did not repair the failure. Within weeks, the dealer replaced the fuel pump module, which also did not repair the failure. A month later they repaired the full tank hoses, but the failure persisted. A year later, the fuel pump module was replaced once again. After all of these repairs, the failure has not yet been properly corrected. The failure is causing the vehicle to stall while driving 15 mph. The failure mileage was 61,000 and current mileage was 84,000.

I have had my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica for less than a week when my fuel gauge went from 1/2 of a tank to empty while driving. Then it went back up to 1/2 of a tank a minute later. When I went down a hill the vehicle stalled and had to be put in park and restarted. I have two small children and this scared me. I looked up my VIN number but found no recall, however I found this similar problem in other 05 Pacificas and I found that they had been recalled. I have my car back at the dealership getting fixed but am desperate to find out if this recall could be my problem.

Car stalls and reads that the tank is empty even when there is gas in the vehicle. It occurs regularly. Nothing has been done yet. I was told egr system, then throttle body, and now I supposedly need a $1000 fuel pump job. Very irritated.

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Whenever the fuel tank reaches the half full mark, it immediately drops to empty. The failure causes the vehicle to shut off within a mile of being driven. The contact did not notice any differences in the vehicle prior to the failure. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. Two years prior to the failure, the vehicle was serviced for the PCM module, which has been changed three times since the contact has owned the vehicle. The current mileage was 53,000 and failure mileage was 48,000.

Bought 2005 Chrysler Pacifica in July 2006. Since that time I have had numerous problems with the vehicle. When the gas gauge is at approximately 1/3 tank of gas it suddenly drops to empty and begins stalling upon turns. I took the vehicle back to the dealership and they did not know what the problem was and asked me to bring the vehicle back when it was at approximately 1/3 tank so they could do testing. I was without my vehicle one whole day for this and did not have time to take it back again. Next, I received a recall notice that claimed to fix the stalling problem. Yesterday I took my vehicle in to have the recall performed. Again, I was without my vehicle all day. Today, after the recall, my vehicle is still having the same problems. The gas gauge dropped suddenly to empty and began stalling at this point. There are other problems that may be related. After the car is reading empty and I proceed to put gasoline in the tank it will only allow 13 gallons to be pumped, the owners manual claims that the vehicle has a 23 gallon tank. However, I have never been able to put more than 13 gallons of gas in the tank. Also, every now and then when I try to put fuel in the tank, the hose will continually shut off as if the vehicle is full. Sometimes this happens the whole time I am filling up and I have to just keep on clicking, clicking, clicking... to get the gas to go into the vehicle. These problems have caused our family much distress and the stalling is a very real safety issue. Thank you for your help with this. Susan ashcraft.

Accelerator sticks in idle position. The problem is continuous once engine reaches operating temperature. Occasionally accelerator sticks requiring very heavy foot pressure to break loose causing the vehicle to lurch forward.

I brought my car to the dealership in late August for regular maintenance. I told them I was having a long crank when starting the car. They said I probably did not put the gas cap on tight and air got into the tank. I disagreed with this but supposedly diagnostics these days pick up on everything. A week later I was driving down an incline and my gas gauge dropped from 1/2 tank to E. I immediately pulled into a gas station and the tank took 15 gallons. We run through a tank of gas maybe once every two weeks. Usually, I top off the tank. Therefore, I did not notice this problem again until last weekend. In this instance, when the gas gauge got to just below 1/2 tank, dropped to E and stalled. We were in highway traffic. We immediately restarted the car and got to a gas station. The car would only take 8 gallons. I am bringing it to the dealer tomorrow. Btw, still have the long crank...it has never gone away.

About a month and a half ago, my Chrysler Pacifica 2005 started to have a couple of probably related problems, one of which can be dangerous. The car will stall when turning left. If a car is coming up behind me, I could get rear ended. The other problem is that my fuel gauge will show a half tank one minute and almost empty the next. When I have filled up, it would only take 15 gallons, meaning that there are still 8 gallons left. I have an appointment in one week with my local dealer and hope that they can fix this, as it is potentially dangerous.

: the contact stated while stopped at a traffic lights the vehicle would stall without warning. This occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was restated and driven to the dealer each time where the problem could not be duplicated. Updated 9/18/2006 - the vehicle is manufacturers with two fuel tanks and two fuel pumps. It was later determined that the secondary pump failed leaving the vehicle with the use of only on tank. The cv joint failed which caused a clunking sound when putting the vehicle in reverse or drive..

1. the vehicle stalls and/or turns off when making a left turn. It also stalls and/or turns off at stop lights when the gas pedal is pressed to. The fuel tank is at half full during all events and actually drops to zero for minute then returns to half full. 2. I have almost been hit in traffic, at intersections, several times because the vehicle quit. I am only able to fill the tank half of the time otherwise it only let me fill to 3/4 full. Due to the mpg rating this means frequent trips to the gas station. 3. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times. They were "unable to reproduce" the problem the first two times. They determined that it was a fuel module problem after the third time because the problem occurred with the service technician was there. A replacement part has been ordered but has been, of course, on backorder for 3 weeks. Still no fix. Cars stopping in traffic is a serious safety issue. Please do a quick search on the internet and you will find many instances of the problem. It's not isolated and should be investigated as a recall. Thank you.

Vehicle shut off during left turn in busy intersection and narrowly avoided accident. Dealer notified right away and appointment made. Reluctant to even drive to dealer because of safety issue.

Vehicle stalls without warning when fuel level gauge is near half tank. The fuel level will go down to half and soon after it will drop unexpectedly to E and will stall out before you know what is happening. Car will restart and make it to a gas station. Upon filling the tank it will only take 9-11 gallons of gas. This car has a 23 gallon tank. The tank also has problems filling. It takes 5-10 min of frustration to get 10 gal in it. Rollover ball maybe?

Vehicle has shut off many times when making a left turn, sometimes when going straight and now this week indicator says it is out of gas with few miles til empty displayed on dash- will tank up and only takes 10 gallons to top off- it was not empty then it will start again.
