First, thanks for this opportunity to bring up my concerns regarding my vehicle: I had the following issues with my 2018 vehicle: 1. on 20 Feb 20, vehicle was in motion when the charging system light came up regarding an issue with the electrical charging system. The vehicle almost turned off in the middle of the street. Now the off/ on start is not working. 2. 9 May 19; vehicle was stationary; another recall regarding the battery ground that have been built with a sealer that is used during the wire harness manufacturing process may accumulate on the wire harness tab which may cause a loss of clamp load in the battery ground joint over time. 3. 23 May 18; few days after purchased, the vehicle was stationary, the recall was about fault handling strategy of the engine control module or PCM software in the vehicle. I am really concern because this is a new vehicle from 2018 and is the vehicle utilized for my family on a daily basis and in less than 2 years and it has 2 recalls and one malfunction. I am really worry about the performance of my Chrysler Pacifica, and I am really concern that one of this days the vehicle left my family on the road.

Several times, while driving 20-30mph as well as when stopped at a red light or a stop sign, the car has lost power steering (steering wheel locks, brake seems to lock in place), unable to accelerate or decelerate, dashboard flashes some message along the lines of "stop/start required" or "shift to P then desired gear", but even when attempting to shut off the car and restart, sometimes this does not even work. At times it has taken 2-3 minutes to even get the car to shut off completely in order to try to turn it back on (as if the car is completely frozen). This has happened on side streets, as well as at a stop sign and a red light on a busy road, which left me blocking traffic for several minutes, unable to operate my vehicle. This has happened at least 5-6 times in the last year, most recently twice in the last week.

My van's radio will randomly play a high-pitched tone and will not stop until the car is turned off. It is very distracting while driving and has happened randomly over a dozen times. Nothing seems to turn it off. I took a video and shared it with the dealer but Chrysler will not repair/replace the radio. Unfortunately, the radio controls almost everything in the car.

The van stalls at all different speeds. Losing all control ad having to coast off to the side of the highway because the car has completely lost power. When I am accelerating, the vehicle is jerking around 10-20 mph, almost like a violent jolt. (at times seems like someone is rear ending us) the dealership says that everything is functioning as it should be. This makes me extremely concerned for the safety of my family and my kids. This has happened numerous times. Also the sliding doors open and close on their own. My 6yo was nearly caught in one as it closed. I have video of the car stalled in a parking lot as well.

26 June 2018, I leased the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with the S appearance package VIN: [xxx] from ourisman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of alexandria, 5900 richmond hwy, alexandria, va 22303. First complaint: On Thursday, June 28th at 8:51am I reached out to [xxx] explaining to him the console was shorting out and at one point it had completely shut-off.. he instructed me to bring it back in and have it replaced so that Chrysler would have a record of the issue. -- this issue happened within days of purchase. As the van slowed to a crawl, and passing vehicles drove by nervously trying to avoid hitting me, I edged off into a school parking lot. 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle stalling. The consumer stated the battery was dead upon purchase. The dealer replaced it. A week after purchasing the vehicle it would not start. It had power, but the key fob could not be detected. The sliding doors reopened after being closed. The vehicle applies the brakes when reversing or going forward as if to stop a crash. The vehicle jolts/lunges and rolls a little when shifting gears. The engine rattles for a few seconds after the vehicle was shut off. The vehicle stalled/idled and shut down while at a stop sign and in traffic. The dash displayed engine stop start system malfunction.

I have just bought a Chrysler Pacifica 2018 and im very upset with the purchase. The sliding back doors open again when they are about to close. I have to try several times by pressing the button on the door until it closes. Each time I have to do it about six times and it's both doors. It is annoying and should not happen because it can become a danger on the road because they can open themselves while driving

The unpredictable nature of intermittent electronic start/stop operation creates uncertainty for the driver, and distracts attention conducive to causing a crash. Documentation implies that operation for a few miles may be necessary to re-charge sufficiently for ess. However, over time ( 6-9 months according to my detailed maintenance log), the alternator's capacity to re-charge lags such that ess ceases to function altogether. 3.when operating properly, there is a slight pause between taking one's foot off the brake and engine restart. This pause is mildly annoying, but the driver can become accustomed to it, if the operation is continuously reliable. When it is not reliable, the driver tends to pause even when the engine has not stopped. The driver can then be embarrassed, and 'jack-rabbit' unnecessarily. Alternatively, if the ess has unexpectedly resumed functionality, the driver may accelerate prematurely which causes a significant jerk once the ess kicks in. Eventually, the operator will be driving erratically, constantly distracted by the uncertainty. Neither dealerships, nor mechanics have offered a long-term solution. Thus far they are only replacing or re-charging the batteries. 5.I have progressed through three discharge and replace/recharge cycles in a new vehicle in just 17 months and 15,000 miles. I was able to extract from my dealership's general manager that the entire inventory of batteries on which they are required to depend is inferior; and said Chrysler might be 'going back to interstate batteries'. for me, this erratic operation has become a safety issue. I am interested to know nhsta's position.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 65 mph, the steering seized and the power steering assist warning indicator illuminated. The contact managed to veer into a parking lot. Once the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation. The following day, the vehicle was towed to arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram sawgrass (5901 madison ave, tamarac, fl 33321, (954) 515-5800) where it was diagnosed that the steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the engine stalled and the engine and emergency brake warning indicators illuminated. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 19V348000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 11,127.

My car is 3-4 months old. Around 7K in miles on it. This afternoon car did not started, start button was showing as run created a kind of chaos in terms seems the like car is ready to run showing all run signals but was not running, happened in a parking lot so I was confused what state should I leave the car in as not able able to shut down the car & dont know whether it will start running by himself, switched on the parking breaks just to make sure it does just start running & ruins someones car, it was kind of scary. More scary things happened when the towing truck guys showed up to drive the car to dealer. He was trying to figure out where is the button to put the car in neutral, called dealership no one knew, looked at a video where it showed there is a small box under steering which has a ribbon to pull to move the car to neutral mode. When the towing driver opened that space there was no ribbon. These are part of safety issues with the car, tis time it happened in a parking lot if it would have happened on the live road this would have been disastrous.

I live in New York city and have had my Chrysler Pacifica phev for just over a year. About 6 months ago, I had (more) electrical problems causing the check engine light to be constantly illuminated. I took it to the dealer and the dealer found that my engine wiring had been chewed presumably by squirrels. They kindly patched up what they could find and sent me on my way. The check engine light came on shortly after that, just before a long vacation. I brought it back to the dealer today and without any pretext, the intake specialist said, as if it were common industry knowledge, that "the wire insulation is soy-based plastic and that's why squirrels like to eat it." If this is the case and the fact is that a manufacturer is producing vehicles that within the industry are known to attract vermin, this must be inspected. I'm driving a car with giant lithium batteries, which if shorted could easily cause fire and death. Please don't let this go unaddressed.

Van will randomly not start after just being driven. Dash board lights up and engine clicks but will not turn over. Several messages come up for service. (see pictures attached.) has happened once before about 2 weeks ago and there's no explanation as to why it started back up after about an hour of problem solving. Battery was fine. Headlights, horn, inside lights and radio all worked fine. When clicking on parking brake button, the lights flash on the dash and can hear clicks but won't turn on the brake.

On August 7, while I was driving on a state highway, around 30 mph, my van suddenly stopped and would not start again. I was stuck in the middle of the road for about 5 minutes while the car made noises and the check engine lights and other dashboard warnings flashed. After a few minutes I was able to restart my car to move it to a safe location. My "micromechanic" engine light reader gave me codes U0401 and U0100, lost communication with ECM/PCM and invalid data received from ECM/PCM- and said the car was unsafe to drive. I had it towed to the dealership. After about a week, the dealership said they rebooted the computer and test drove the car about 15 miles and it was working again. They said it was safe for me to drive and had me pick it up. I had the car back for 10 days. On August 22, I was attempting to leave work. The car was stationary in the parking garage. When I started my car, the same thing happened - it began flashing and beeping. I was unable to turn the car off or move the car. When I pushed the ignition button instead of turning the car off it would re-cycle and begin beeping again. I ran the micromechanic and it gave me the same codes U0100 and U0401 dealing with ECM and PCM. I had to stay with the car 2.5 hours to wait for the tow truck and the entire time it beeped and flashed - I was unable to turn it off. I had it towed back to the same dealership, where it still is currently. Both times this occurred the car was not charged electrically but had gasoline fuel.
