The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the spark plugs. The vehicle was also taken to a private mechanic who replaced the alternator two times and the battery but the failure recurred. The failure was reported to the manufacturer. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number 08V152000 (electrical system: Electrical), however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 45,000. The current mileage was 60,000.

I was driving in stop and go traffic and started speeding up due to less traffic. I was going 60 mph when my car stopped accelerating and started making this weird revving noise (the kind when you are parked or in neutral), my warning light came on for the electrical panel. I then pulled over because it was not going any faster than 35 mph. Just letting it sit it was making those same noises. I turned the car off and restarted it. The light when away and it was able to drive again. It had a little issue getting back up to speed but overall it went back to normal.

Front driver seat started feeling loose, airbag light came on, low tire light came on and check oil light would come on every time car is started. A few days later the car didn't feel right and started making a loud knocking noise, took it to the mechanic and found out that tensioner belt became loose causing damage to the car. I had to get a new alternator, tensioner & pull, and transmission flushed/serviced as well as the power steering. Not very happy with this 2008 Sebring!!!!!

On Monday 1/28/2013 after a heavy morning of snowing and raining, I began to run errands. All of sudden my car 2008 Chrysler Sebring stalled as I was driving. I started the car immediately back up with no problems however shortly afterwards pulling up to a traffic light the car stalled again. Everything in the car goes off as if someone has turned the ignition key to off position. This is very dangerous as there are no warning to the possibility the car is about to stall. Tuesday 1/29/13 I took my car to a local repair chain as it continued to stall and they reported not finding anything electrical wrong with the car nor mechanical. However, they suggested that when cars stall sometimes it may be the spark plugs may need to be replaced. So based on their suggestion I had the spark plugs replaced/tune up. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem as I drove home car stalled. On Wednesday 1/20/13, I took the car to another trusted mechanic and they reported the problem being electrical and manufactured due to how the car totally shuts down and not registering with the dash board a problem. On 1/31/13 I had the car towed to the Chrysler dealership only for them to confirm, so far, what the other two mechanics already told me, its an electrical problem that is not showing up on dash. For three days the car stalled aprx. 11 times at traffic lights and/or in motion. I have read there was a recall on 2007-2008 Chrysler Sebring's however when I called Chrysler I was told that did not include my car due to it being manufactured a month later than the recall cars. However, the recall notice describes exactly what is happening to my car. I have also communicated with 2 other people to whom have complained about the same stalling issues with the same year and model car. I just hope it does not take someone losing their life before changes are made to solve this problem.

There was a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 08V152000 (electrical system:wiring); however the VIN was ineligible. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

While driving the check engine light came on and the engine stalled. When tested the engine code came back as electrical short. The dealership where I purchased the car did not fix the problem but cleared the engine code. A few weeks later the check engine light came back on. While traveling at 50 mph, and coming to a stop, the engine stopped running and the brakes failed to stop the car. After going thru a red light another car broadsided my car.

After I received work done on the electrical-recall, my car keeps on stalling. This can be very scary and has almost caused several accidents. My car should not be shutting off while driving. I did not have this problem until after the recall was fixed on my car. This needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt.

Went out to car to go to the store unlocked my car with my remote and horn started sounding for no reason. Tried to press unlock/lock with remote horn still sounding. At that point I got back in my car tried shutting the doors and starting the vehicle alarm still sounding. After about 10 minutes I kept messing with the remote trying to shut off the horn finally the horn stopped. After a huge embarrassment and several by-standers trying to assist me in shutting the horn off I had to leave my car unlocked while I went into the grocery store. Quickly raced through the store got what I needed went back out to my vehicle started the engine horn continuously went off as I drove home. This is continually happening to me as I drive my car. I feel that this is a safety issue that Chrysler needs to repair free of charge.

A throttle control warning light appears on the dash off and on at intermittent times the car loses power and dies without warning. It has died on the highway several times so far, but will restart after a few minutes. It seems to happen when the fuel is less than half way full more than any other time and/or when traveling uphill. RPM dial on the car jumps erratically just before the throttle warning light appears. Problem has not occurred while traveling at less than 45 mph. Afraid that the problem will cause an accident, if it happens when another vehicle is traveling behind me.

I was traveling back to los angeles, ca from sedona, AZ. It had been raining off/on all day. Sometimes lightly and often times very heavy with wake water coming off of other cars and trucks on a very busy ca highway. My windshield wipers completely stopped working during heavy downpour twice. Had to crawl off the freeway while unable to see because of no wipers. Had to wait at least 15 minutes before they would work again after the first failure. Was able to travel using the delayed intermittent sequence until rain got too heavy. When switched to faster wiping after ten minutes wipers stopped again. Luckily again I was able to crawl to the side of the road, and I waited for the rain to stop. I have not had this happen before and I have driven long and short distances in the rain. Another issue is I have had on three different occasions over the last year and 1/2, the car shut off/stall while waiting at red lights, and once while the car was moving it started to stall. At no time did the engine malfunction light, or electrical light come on or stay on. I was told by Chrysler technicians/mechanics that unless the light stays on they can't diagnose the problem. Otherwise the failure had to be duplicated, I.e, have to occur in the presence of the technicians. Well you know how that goes. I understand that my car was not part the 08V152000 recall, but this situation is dangerous. Please help.

TL-the contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while waiting at a stop light he noticed that the engine would rev unexpectedly and that it would also stall without any warning. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised him that the battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired for the battery, but they were unable to duplicate the stalling of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. The VIN was unavailable.

Chrysler Sebring 2008 however, I am having problem with the electronic throttle control light which will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and restart. When electronic throttle control light is on you cannot break to stop the car, or speed up. It make you loose control of the whole car increasing the potentiality of accident if you was driving at any speed above 25 mph. I went to Chrysler dealerships, but they do not know what is going on with the car or could cause that failure, `and have no idea how to fix it. I do not know if this problem is related to the power train. The problem happened to me already more than 30 times.

We have a 08 Chrysler Sebring it was taken to Nissan about 2 months ago we were told it was the battery charged 75. For a diag fee. The car itself dies when at a stop sign or red lite it will suddenly rev up the motor and just turn off. It started to stall and not turn on the battery was having to be charged over and over. Finally we changed the starter and bought a new battery that was 2 months ago.now it is doing the same thing the battery is dying we have just taken it in to get recharged just to find out if it is the alternator. The recall that was done on the Sebring for the tire pressure monitor does not include our car. I don't see how the same vehicle the same year is doing the exact same problems does not get included in the recall.

I purchased a 2008 Chrysler Sebring in August 2007, from darcars brand new, at the time of purchase Chrysler was aware of the recall 6months prior and made no attempt to inform me. My car is currently at the dealership being serviced. I took the car in because suddenly the car begin to make a horrible noise, that I described to the customer service representative as a noisy fan belt, that whinnied while driving, but noisiest while in park, odilimg at the stop light. I took the car in and they pretended not to have a clue, and begin to inquire about oil changes and other suggested maintenance, I showed the writer and mechanic my most current maintenance receipt printout along with the previous dates, so they backed away from the indirect accusations that it was possibly my fault. The power steering pump is defected, the pulley froze, and the alternator. The car has only been used to Transport my children to and from school and social events, and my transportation to and from work, grocery stores and things of that nature. My mileage is 31,418. They are behaving as if they don't have a clue, but after looking into several recall links, I am appalled that they knowingly sold me a lemon at regular price, with no discount. I have supporting documents. I only received on recall notice, but being the driver and experiencing the problems, there should have been recalls for recall id 07V473000, and recall dated for April 2, 2008 Sebring electrical system;wiring recall id 35950. Also the recall titled engine and engine cooling;cooling system radiator id#55084. The alternator is an electrical operating piece, it also tie into the recall titled "tire pressure monitor, because one of the consequences include stalling, and battery corrosion, and stopping without notice, which is also caused by a defected alternator. I drive two school age children, two grandchildren, 1month, and 13months old. Chrysler put us all in danger knowingly. But still to date acts as if they do not have a clue.
