As I was driving my 5 year old daughter to school, the steering wheel locked, the brakes locked, the tire skid light turned on, and the vehicle powered itself down while in motion. I was driving about 30 mph and it happened on a curve. We almost crashed head-first into on oncoming truck. I had to use force to pull my steering wheel to the right to avoid the collision. When we came to a complete stop, I shifted into the park position and removed the key from the ignition. Immediately after removing the key, I put the key back in the ignition and the vehicle started right away with no problems.

Several follow up phone calls have been made with dealer instructions to call back in a month. Today, the ignition system locked up and we have no way to get our daughter to and from school without renting a wheel chair van at over $120 per day. I don't know if this is the dealer's, manufacturer's or supplier's fault but I don't think it should be our responsibility to rent another vehicle due it taking them over 3 months to get the part needed. It is my understanding that they will deny any rental fees.
