Have had three separate incidents that lead me to believe the TIPM is faulty. I've had two incidents where the vehicle engine shuts off while driving. Each time I just put the trans in N, turned the ignition, and continued driving.
One incident where the TPM system light came on, then an error message stating "Check TPM System" came on, followed by the PSI readings for each tire changed from 38 to -- one by one... then just as quick, everything went back to normal.
Yesterday had an incident where, after driving around all day, I shut the car off then almost immediately tried to start it only to have the classic "click, click, click". After a couple attempts of turning ignition back and forth, I got a jump and then the engine started without issue. After the jump I shut the car off and it started right up.
Update from Jun 6, 2016: Two days ago I recorded my instrument cluster while the car was under cruise control because I noticed the tach fluctuating and almost stall out (which I will show to the service manager) and I had another incident yesterday of the engine shutting off while driving around a parking lot.
Update from Jun 14, 2016: Took the van into the dealer, informed them of the symptoms, and the fact that I've read about the TIPM sometimes being the culprit only to have the service manager tell me "I've never heard of those going bad but we'll get to the bottom of it.".
Two days later they call to tell me they've replaced the crank sensor, did a fuel injector clean, and changed the air cleaner and feel confident they've fixed the problem ($235). A day later while driving I noticed that distinctive engine hesitation and watched the tach drop down to nearly zero. It hasn't stalled yet but I believe its just a matter of time based on how the engine is running.
So I've decided, based on numerous blogs from similar owners, that I need to verify if it is, in fact, an issue with the TIPM myself so I ordered a TIPM Test Cable from Jason Bell @ VerticalVisions.com. I will update with my findings.

This might be an premature complain but I hate that this is happening to me. I am a mother of 4 and I need my van!!! I don't have heat and now I am not sure when my van will turn on. I will not drive it around even if it does start because I am running the risk of being stuck somewhere with a malfunction TIPM that controls the fluid pump, starter switch and heating system. I have to park it outside of my house in fear that it will set on fire because something might malfunction and turn itself on. I have not been to the dealer yet but I heard this part is on back order for months! This cant be happening to me!!!

We had the car towed because it would not start. The local shop indicated that it was the fuel pump. He replaced the pump and the vehicle started and I picked it up from the shop and drove it home. Once we had the vehicle at home it stopped starting two days later and I had to get the vehicle towed back to the shop where we had the work done. We are still waiting for the vehicle to be diagnosed and returned to us.
Update from Jan 7, 2016: After a lot of frustration of to and from the shop, They finally diagnosed that it was a defective TIPM (Total Integrated Power Module) I looked this up in the internet and discovered that this is a major defect in the Chrysler Town and Country. Chrysler should really recall this part. We spent nearly $2000 diagnosing the problem just to find out that the part costs around $850 and installation was around $95.
Chrysler should stand behind their product and get this fixed.

After replacing the Battery and Fuel Pump. The shop said that we had to replace the TIPM. When he said that I started researching the issue online. The TIPM was recalled in the Dodge Minivans and Chrysler. Apparently the auto maker has recalled some years and vehicles but to the TIPM in the 2010 Chysler Town&Country. I wonder if the fuel pump is really bad. My shop knows a mechanic the local dodge/chrysler dealer and was told that they replace the TIPM, fuel harness and fuel pumps frequently. I wish they would recall this part. I spent over nearly $2000 that I really don't have to keep our van running.

My 2010 Chrysler Town & Country started having issues with the headlights. They would flash on for a second, then shut off. My turn signal and brake lights worked as they normally do. This issue occurred several times and I would simply toggle the switch on and off, and , eventually would get them to work. After several weeks, the issue just got worse. Then one night while driving home, the headlights shut down altogether.
Now, I've started having issues with other electrical systems. The radio, for no apparent reason, just shut off. I heard a clicking noise under the dash. A few seconds later, the radio would come back on, then just as quickly, shut off again. When the issue with the radio occurred, I also noticed that the air conditioning would shut down, the power to the windows were also affected. I know the radio, air conditioning, and windows are just a matter of inconvenience. The issue with the headlights is another matter.
After researching these issues online through public forums and websites, I determined the issue is the Total Integrated Power Module (T.I.P.M.). Additional research shows MANY issues regarding this problem have already been documented. I find it hard to believe that a manufactures recall has not been issued regarding this problem, especially with so many Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles being affected due to a faulty TIPM.

I am a disabled driver. In 2010 I purchased a Chrysler Town & Country minivan that was modified so that I could drive. From the first day when I took possession of the vehicle I have had nothing but electrical problems. This morning I went out to start my car and drive to work and I find my headlights don't work. They flash a few times and then won't come on. I drove to the dealership this morning where it was determined I have a bad TIPM and it will cost me over $1,000 to fix!!
Since I have owned the car I have had the following electrical problems that I now attribute to this bad TIPM after reading extensively on the other known issues people are experiencing. I have had the following issues:
3 Starters 1 Alternator 9 Batteries 2 Window Motors Burnt out Rear taillight burnt out Front fog light burnt out Random windshield wipers turning on Radio turning on and off randomly
I have been stranded twice and as a disabled driver this is scary. I do not feel safe in my car at all. The dealership is trying to find the part but it is on back order and do not have an ETA as to when the part will be in. So I am stuck in an unsafe vehicle until the issue can be resolved.
I cannot afford the money to even pay for this repair!!

Went to dealer to be repaired. Paid for repairs and picked vehicle up. Vehicle was not fixed, had same problem. Has been at dealer since the day after picked up from being repaired. The dealership has had it for about six weeks and still does not know what to do to repair and correct the problem.

We have had the same electrical system problems as many others. First, our radio died. (We remember hearing what sounded like an electrical "pop" (short?) while we were driving, and the radio died shortly thereafter.) It turned out, however, that the dead radio was draining the battery, and we had several "dead battery" fixes (jumps and the like) to deal with. We eventually had to get a new radio (about $500, plus separate diagnostic costs at our local shop, and tow costs).
Before we were able to replace the radio, however, we started noticing headlight problems. I first noticed it when turning on the car and seeing the lights flash - but no headlights thereafter. I immediately checked the fuse (no problem), and then replaced the headlight bulbs. Nothing worked - but the headlights miraculously came back on -- only to go back off a couple of weeks later.
We then took our car to the shop, and after a diagnostic, they told us that they found a TIPM error message, and after resetting it the headlights came back on. But they were unsure how long the "fix" would last (lights went out that night, but were back up the next day.) They recommended replacing the TIPM (for almost $1500!).
This brings us up to date. We are now looking at replacing the TIPM. To this irritation and expense, we would probably likely have to add the radio expense, which also seems related.

We have had this issue happen several times over the past 2 years. We took it to our only local Chrysler dealership who is anything but mechanical. Said nothing is wrong. Well, a "plug-in" diagnostic tool won't find bad solder joints. We then took it to a local mechanic who couldn't find anything either. I have replaced the battery 3 times in 2 years. It comes and goes but seems to be getting worse.
It happened to my wife yesterday and I did a ton of research and found where the dash cluster was replaced and that individual hasn't seen the issue for 5000 miles. Others have pin pointed it to the TIPM. I did a search for TIPM and WOW...a class action law suit. Go figure!!
I have called Chrysler LLC 3 times in the past 2 days and asked to speak with someone in Supervision or Corporate. Finally received a call back about 2 hours ago only to be informed they have never heard of this issue and there is no recall. The woman on the phone said I needed to take it in and have it looked at. I laughed at her and said you want me to allow my wife and kids to drive in an unsafe vehicle that you know has defective parts? I then informed her I would be filing a case against Chrysler and she can put that in her notes.
I will never buy this junk again. I wouldn't take a Chrysler even if 1 was given to me free of charge...well...I would take it to our hunt club and shoot the thing up!!! American Junk at it's finest. No wonder people buy imports. Sad...Sad...Sad!!!

Got stranded because the vehicle would not start. I have never had so many repairs on a vehicle as this damn Chrysler! Never again!!!

On Thursday, November 13, my wife had gone to the store and was returning. She always drives slowly in our complex due to kids playing and adults walking. She was turning into our parking space, with her foot on the brake in anticipation of stopping (approx. 10 feet) when the engine suddenly revved up to full speed, and the steering wheel jerked violently to the left. My wife applied the brakes harder, but it had no effect on the engine. The van ran into the garage door and the brick facing of the duplex, and was severely damaged. The airbags did not deploy, and my wife suffered a slight pain for a couple of days, where the shoulder belt impinged on her shoulder. she has photos of the damage in her computer, and will have to send them to me. The left front end of the van, including fender, lights, grille, hood, and engine well were damaged so the van could not be driven, and had to be towed to the local Chrysler dealer. Due to the specifics of the crash, I suspect a defective TIPM.

I purchased the 2010 vehicle and have only had it a few months. I was just told that a part on the vehicle called the TIPM is the source of my vehicle problem. The warranty does not cover the problem and I am aware that there was a recall on 2010 Town & Country Vans in the recent past and for some reason my vehicle was not included in this recall. There is even a current recall that lists the manufacture date and parameters that my vehicle falls within and I am told my vehicle does not apply. This means something is not right now and it was probably not right then. I would like to know why a recall that lists 2010 Town & Country Vans was not all inclusive since this is a known common problem that can not only disable the vehicle while driving, but can cause fire, injury and or loss of life. According to your representative, there must be numerous complaints or someone must be injured or killed before Chrysler will acknowledge the issue and consider a full recall. I find this unacceptable and completely irresponsible. Would you accept this if your family members died or we injured this way? I have been for the most part of my life a long supporter of Chrysler Products and I don't think I will be able to do that any longer. Your company is willing to risk life or death to make a profit. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

I called Chrysler Customer Service line and they declined to help reduce the cost. I was going over 40 mph in the van with two small children when the van stalled and I lost power brakes and steering. $1250.00 later to replace the Total Integrated Power Module. First Chrysler owned and probably will be my last.

TIPM died and left me stuck at home with no way to get to work. Got a rental car on my own. Towed vehicle to the dealership where I was told it would be several days (dropped off on Friday morning) before they could examine it. Got a call Monday afternoon and informed of problem, cost and not covered by ANY Warranty. Also told by the Service Writer that it was going to be 3 weeks to get the part as it was back ordered.
So my car is in the shop for 3 weeks, I'm paying for a rental car for that period, plus the regular car payment, plus the pleasure of paying $1350 for a KNOWN ELECTRICAL ISSUE!!
Called Chrysler and they opened a case 29581881 and were able to expedite parts delivery, so now the part will be on site in 2 days (that will save me on the rental), but they offered nothing for the rental cost (they could have provided a "lot" car for free but didn't), didn't knock anything off of this really expensive part or the labor to replace it.
So basically, the manufacturer KNEW of the issue, offered nothing to compensate me or make me feel any better about my purchasing decision of their product, and essentially said "suck it up and deal with it!"
I AM ABSOLUTELY LIVID!! If any other company did this, they would be mandated to compensate their customers in some fashion.
This is the kind of customer care that drives your potentially repeat customers into the arms of your competition. This is the last Chrysler product I will buy and I will do my best to tell everyone I know how much this company cares about repeat customers and overall customer satisfaction.
