Town & Country Touring 4.0L

While driving down the road at approx. 45 miles per hour, the car completely shut down. Total loss of all functions. Had to pull it over amidst traffic with no power steering. TERRIBLE- WE COULD BE KILLED!

Electrical (lightning bolt symbol) and check engine light both came on.

Car will restart almost immediately and act like nothing even happened.

I have taken the car into the dealership in May for this same thing happening and they have given it back stating they cannot duplicate the problem so it is not fixable. It makes me feel like they just plain out don't believe me.

This problem was reported to Chrysler. -they have instructed me to take it back to the dealership (which I had to wait a week and a half for my appointment) and told me I should not take the vehicle back until after the problem is diagnosed and I speak directly with Chrysler again.

While beginning to drive the car display a light on the dashboard that will show a slippery sign ( happens if road is wet or dry doesn't matter weather conditions) and then shortly without any warning the steering wheel will lock up and the engine instantly turns off. You can not steer or move the car there is NO CONTROL. You literally have seconds to allow to coast to the side of the road. You then have to turn the key to off position then turn key to re-start the engine. This happens 2-3 X a week. Happens also when going over a bump and in dry conditions(meaning it's not wet outside when light is displayed slippery). This is a huge problem for crashing the car since you can not steer or move the car I have been hit from behind twice on major expressway when car stalled. I have taken the car to dealership and basically told me if not happening at that moment there is nothing they can do because when they hook it up to the machine the computer shows all is working correctly. So much for technology. I have 5 small kids and I'm terrified every time I get in my vehicle to drive , I drive on end lanes so that I can quickly get to to the shoulder but is ridiculous this keeps happening to many people and no one can figure out what it is to fix it. My vehicle Vin # has also been checked with No recalls on the vehicle. Do I have to die in order for someone to hear me?

Car stalls while driving. This has happened two times in the last week. Recall on this problem on 3/1/2011 for this model year, but my particular vehicle was not included in the recall because it was "manufactured in a different plant." Chrysler contacted about situation and states they can do nothing the help at this time.

OK... while driving my daughter to swim practice early in the morning... my van decided to quit unexpectedly while I was driving it again for the 4x! This had just happened to me the night before while I was going to pick up my son from work and before I could contact dealership for an appointment. This time I was nearly rear ended by a HUGE county road truck!! I called dealership and took van right over to have it looked at.. Chrysler dealership has been awful to work with... they continue to tell me nothing is wrong with my van even though this has happened several times and thrown a list of codes! I was told by SM of dealership that they get paid enough by Chrysler to fix warranty problems... really!!! I told them that this explains why my van continues to have all sorts of problems that I can't get resolved!! Contacted Chrysler and am very disappointed at how this has been handled!! I explained my frustration with dealership to CS Rep... and ended up going to get my van to take to another dealership for repair. When I went to pick up my van they refused to release it until I pd. them $70 for just looking at it! This dealership continues to get on my nerves... I explained to them that if they would just fix my van I wouldn't be there!! Long story short.... we ended up taking our van to another dealership that was fabulous to work with but again could not find the problem with my van....in fact because the other dealership was so difficult to work with they had even erased all of the codes! New dealership drove van approx. 100miles and was unable to re-enact quitting problem and thus unable to fix it!! Picked up van and continued to drive because I had no other choice and Chrysler would do nothing about it!!! FRUSTRATED!!!!

While driving my 2010 T&C van ... approx. 1 mile from my house heading down a hill my van just decided to quit while I was driving almost getting me rear ended. It was all I could do to get the van off the road d/t loss of power steering and breaks! I was able to get vehicle off the road... restarted vehicle and just as I accelerated to begin again it quit. I was prepared to have to walk home... but after a few minutes tried to restart van .... it did and was able to get it home. I am extremely frustrated because Chrysler can't find problem even though my van continues to throw all sorts of codes each time this happens!!! UGH!!!

Car recall letter sent in June, stating due to a shortage of parts do not call for an appointment until mid July. I called for an appointment and they are unable to fit me in for the next 2 weeks. The car was recalled because the engine spontaneously shuts off. This has happened to me multiple times, usually at about 5-10miles/hr. Since the recall it has happened to me twice at 40-55miles/hr on 2 major roads (this is after what was recommended in the recall letter of removing any additional keys). Did I mention my 3 little kids were in the car when this happened both times. I begged for my car to be fixed sooner because I do not feel safe driving it. After speaking with sales and service managers I still have to wait for them to fix it. If I do not get IMMEDIATE attention I will have to contact my lawyer. Who knows maybe one day I will own Chrysler.
