January 1st in oshkosh Wisconsin while parked in driveway I warmed up our 2013 Chrysler Town & Country for 15 minutes and loaded up ready to go and turned on wipers and quickly noticed stuck to glass from ice so turned switch off. Broke loose from glass and retried wipers and poof they do not work. Checked all fuses & relays and tested wiper motor along with multi switch all good. Hooked my ansus FX4000 scanner to learn I have a tipm module problem. Next issue arouse three weeks later now automatic lights went out traveling in a snowstorm in evening & decided to further this issue. I will inform you's Chrysler is using electrical system that has many, many accessory and options all work on a ground based energizing system. Another way to put this is most all controls are positive energized at all times and body ground module sends signal to relays that complete ground circuits. Anyone with half a brain will realize this is a disaster waiting to catch fire at any given time or place and repeatedly fail. Why is it innocent working people need to die and go broke for dealerships knowingly ignore disasters. Call tipm rebuilders in California to educate your staff in recalling all scrap Chrysler nightmare electrical system has caused & destroyed good working people's pocket books for $1200 a pop to replace tipm module. Oh and dealers also tell everyone that reprograming is needed in replacing tipm module which in fact is a absolutely appalling lie.I hope to god someone wakes up an does the right thing.

2013 Chrysler Town and country touring randomly shuts off while driving. It's happened 3 times in a parking lot, 1 time in my driveway in reverse, and one time on the highway traveling at 55+ mph. I lose power steering, power brakes, and probably more. If I put the vehicle in neutral and turn the key it has fired back up.

While driving the van, it randomly stalls and everything goes dead on the car. The ignition does not turn over, it just keeps cranking.after a while it starts back up and then it eventually happens again. This happens at high speeds and low speed and just leaves you stranded. No dealer knows the problem. It is very unsafe. It happened to my family in a highway.

On September 2018 while driving on the highway my 2013 Chrysler Town and country started stalling notice that it was losing power I barely made it home when I try to open side doors notice that none of the power side doors wouldn't open they were stuck we can't open the doors and once we turned off the van it wouldn't start we thought it was the battery so we got a new one, but the battery wasn't the problem. Because when we connected the battery it turned on but once again we shut down the engine it wouldn't start again... we notice it started making a noise and losing power and the engine shut down and it wouldn't start again so we decided to disconnecting the battery so we can see if it would turn on the next day and it but so that it what we have to do everytime we would go somewhere. But than we started having problems with the transmission it started failing so now we are also having to deal with the transmission...all this is driving us crazy never had problems with my other 2 to van's that we bought before, but this one is a lemon if its not one thing it's another last year we had problems with the engine had to take it in to the dealership and now all this electrical and transmission problems I actually don't know what to do....please help that is my only vehicle to get to work.

The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town and country. While the vehicle was parked and idling, a noise similar to a gunshot was heard. The contact realized that the rear passenger side head rest air bag deployed. Afterwards, the passenger side sliding door did not lock and all the electrical components, including the radio and gps malfunctioned. Ever since July of 2018, the contact made numerous attempts to schedule a diagnostic appointment with the dealer (black Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 831 salisbury rd, statesville, nc 28677). The dealer stated that the repairs could not be scheduled unless the headquarters authorized the diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 84,662.

Van stalls while moving on city streets. Dash cluster lights up then shuts down, loss of power, steering, braking. Sometime restarts on it's own while still in gear, if coming to a complete stop, must put in park to restart. This is the third time reporting it to the Chrysler dealership with no resolution. This problem has been reported to NHTSA several times involving the Chrysler Town and country. Why has NHTSA not demander a recall...these vehicles are unsafe to drive!!!

Takata recall: My car has been dying overnight, even with a brand new battery. I took it to a mechanic to get fix and they told me it's a computer problem that's been happening with all Chrysler vans with a 3rd row seat that are 2014 and older. They claimed it's a censor that's draining the battery overnight (the car went through 3 battery in one month). They also said that only Chrysler dealership can fix it (usually by updating the software) but they charge $150 an hour for it.

Problem consistently cranking car. Dealership diagnosed need for new tipm system. This car is only 5 years old! we drive it because our monthly payment is $260!! $1340 to repair a fuse box is insanely expensive. Especially for a one income family of 5. this pricing is inflated and not affordable.

I have major electrical issues with my van that involves several components including my airbags. While driving down the road the wipers operate uncontrolably several warning lights come on including the airbag light. The blind spot indicators and park assist and traction control ABS is all unavailable at the time of it acting up. I have taken it to several dealerships all Chrysler and none of them can diagnose the issue. The vehicle acts up no matter what it is doing whether it is driving down the road or stationary. This problem has been going on since it had 41,000 miles on it and sisnce I purchased it used with 41,000 miles on it. I have talked with Chrysler headquarters and they will not respond to me by email or phone call at this time. They initially talked to me and said they would be of no financial assistance to me because the factory warranty is up, and not they will not respond to my calls or emails.

Town & Country

I was driving with my three children in my 2013 Town & Country in September 2017. We were headed to the dealership because the battery light was illuminated, and the car gradually started losing electrical functions and would not accelerate past first gear. The van then died on a busy four-lane road (shelbyville road in louisville) and I had to get out and push it in the rain to a parking lot while my wife steered. I had the car towed and the dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty alternator. My car had 48,000 miles at the time. Now at 58,000 and eight months later my alternator is starting to fail again and I will have to have it replaced. It is my understanding that the 160 amp Town and country 3.6L engine alternator has the same components as the alternators in 2010-2014 Chrysler 300, Jeep and other models that were part of a NHTSA recall. The Town and country just has a different housing and orientation. I feel that these models also should be recalled.

I believe I have a faulty tipm, you know that part that many, many other drivers have dealt with but you refuse to do a recall on! I was driving and the traction control light turned on, my brake lights were flashing and my drivers side passenger power door said 'function not available' when I tried to open it. After driving around the corner I felt the car bog down (almost felt like it went into overdrive) so I pulled over and turned the car off. It would not turn back on. The engine would not turn over. The heat turned on by itself, the engine light, airbag light, electronic throttle control, and battery lights all came on and stayed on. My husband had to come jump me and I only made it a few blocks for it happened again. My husband thought it was the alternator due to the headlights and dash lights flashing so he took it out to get tested. Tested fine. Tried the battery and it was drained. Replaced the battery today and the battery light has stayed on. We drove somewhere and it bogged down and sensor lights turned on. It got to the point that it wouldn't even stay on when jumped, doors wouldn't open, I couldn't even lock/unlock it. My husband is beyond frustrated with this. I do not feel safe driving the car again even after we figure out what's going on and fix it. Thank goodness it never 'stalled' when I was on a major road/freeway with my 3 kids. This is completely unsafe and needs a recall and to be fixed! I shouldn't have to pay $1,200+ because of a faulty part my car was built with!

I was driving my family home from vacation in Florida and while we were on the interstate in New York my Town and country lost all power, almost causing an accident. The red battery light along with ABS, traction control and engine light all came on and the vehicle would go any faster than 20 mile per hour.I was able to get off an exit and found a near by advanced auto and had the battery and alternator tested. Both tests came back ok. Started back for home and while driving again the car experienced the same issue.
