The sliding door on the driver's slide does not fully close. It leaves a gap at the rear of the door. I have to manually push the door to get it to latch. I have started driving not realizing the door is not fully closed. In online forums I hear that many others are experiencing a similar issue with this make/model car.

Rear passenger door will open and close normally but when it gets hot outside the door will not latch when it closes. Door sounds like it is constantly trying to latch shut. This will also start happening if the vehicle goes over a bump while driving and the lights go on that the door is open. The door is trying to open and close while driving

I've listed a date below I don't recall the exact date, don't recall the exact mileage, or the exact speed everything listed herein is approximate, if it had happened all day everyday then I could've remembered, but the following has happened on multiple occasions both in winter and in summer. 1. vehicle has stopped on me while driving multiple times, doesn't otherwise seem to drive rough, it has also stalled on me while driving and I make "Y" turns or am driving and stop at a stop sign. I put the van back in park, and it will start back up. It doesn't happen while the car is in park. Sometimes there is a burning smell that is similar to the smell of an airplane. 2. ticking noise when I start and continues while I'm driving and increases as I accelerate. 3. heat and A/C will turn on, on its own, turns on the rear first, and then the front seats after, I can turn it off and it will repeat the process (I've actually recorded it happening). 4. left passenger door closes on its own, won't stay open, clicking noise even if it's closed. 5. interior lights and radio will flicker and go dim then bright (as if switching from night to daytime throughout the whole time I'm driving frequently happens).

My headrest deployed very suddenly while I was driving going about 40 miles an hour and for no reason...my car wasn't hit and I didn't even hit a bump. It sounded like an explosion and the headrest hit the back of my head so hard my chin hit my chest. I'm very lucky I was not knocked out and didn't cause an accident. Consumer stated she sought medical attention but still has discomfort on her neck.

On March 12, 2019 my van burst into flames while parked in my driveway. The van was a total loss and my VW which was parked in front of the van was deemed to be a total loss by the insurance company. There was also extensive damage done to the front wall of my home and landscaping. The van had been driven locally approximately three hours prior to the fire.

Van turned off and would crank but not start. Happened at random times until it would not start at all. Was towed for repair, we had to replace the tipm. Now only a couple weeks later the van, again, will only crank but not start.

Both driver and passenger headrests have deployed and will not reset due to broken parts in the headrests. The passenger side headrests deployed first, and recently the driver side also deployed. We had tried to reset them but they won't stay latched and closed. It appears that the broken part is the same piece on both headrests. I've attached photos of each. Both incidences occurred while the vehicle was idle with no occupants. We have never been in an accident in this vehicle.

Power window regulator failure. I have had not one, but two power window regulators fail while rolling the windows up. The regulators shattered inside my driver and passenger front doors on separate occasions. This caused the windows to fall into the doors. I'm told I'm lucky the windows didn't shatter. This is a huge safety issue while driving and the window suddenly falls down, and an obvious security issue if your vehicle has no window.

I filed with the manufacturer...and once again the run round. Sent me to you... so below is my complaint. Hello " my name is [xxx]. I purchased this 2014 Chrysler Town and country believing it would be a safe vehicle for my family so the event today was the van just decided to shut off as I am driving 50mph down the road! I couldn't turn, I couldn't put it in neutral nor could I brake! I have a 5yr and a 3yr in my car!!! really?! all these sensors and [xxx] in this car makes it fatal! there was a semi behind me that proceeded to flip me off and blow the horn at me instead of seeing if we were ok. We could have been killed! I have an appointment tomorrow to bring the car in however this is a serious situation. No warning! no nothing! no check engine light. Let me just tell you a little more about this pos? I bought it with 30K miles on it. I only had it for about 6 months and had to have the entire transmission rebuilt which still to this day shifts hard and feels like its going to literally fall out of the car. After that is was a tire sensor, then both seats in the second row wont work and they want $1200 to fix a cable! I folded them into the floor maybe 4 times as we use them when going on vacation! the sliding doors act up like they are having a seizure! the pieces all around the car are broken. The running boards the piece in the back where the trunk is and the pieces on the front where it says Chrysler. The air conditioner went out! which took 3 times for the repair man to figure it out because there was no code for the problem! then when they had to tear the whole dash apart to fix the problem now the clock doesn"T work and the speedometer ticks like the is a bomb in my dash! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The airbag light on the instrument panel will randomly illuminate and ding as if the airbag has failed. This happens at random and under no specific circumstances while driving on the road. This concerns me for the fact I fear the air bags will not deploy if an accident occurs.

The van was purchased in 2017. The jerking/shuttering of the vehicle when driving or hauling on gas was the first sign of dysfunction of the vehicle. The second sign of failure in the manufacturing of this make and model of Chrysler was the head restraint of the drivers seat and then weeks latter the passenger seat popped up, when the vehicle was parked and not in motion and deployed out of place without impact of any accident or etc. And last but not least, but extremely important the oil leaks that this vehicle to this day have started since September of 2019. We have gone more than 3 times to different oil changes and companys and they keep insisting it's a Chrysler recall on this make and model. When we noticed this huge oil spill, is when it's parked and we are ready to go to our next destination and a pool of oil shows out! we are afraid to travel far and/or have complications latter. We can't even enjoy this vehicle and go see my brothers who are off in college because this is the only transportation vehicle that all 3 of us in this household can fit comfortable and bring goods to them when in need. We did not purchase this vehicle to have a mediocre product and result. We are very disappointed with the vehicle and wish and pray to finally have a solution and good result this time around with filing this complaint through NHTSA. If this problem is not fixed soon, we will not be able to go to dallas and spend christmas with my younger brothers at the end of the month. Please, please, I beg of you act and give customer service that we need!

My engine has sprung a major oil leak underneath the intake manifold. I've seen hundreds of complaints about the same issue. It appears that Chrysler put a plastic coolant to oil oil cooler under the manifold that is failing. In my opinion the is a major safety issue! this is a fire hazard, could cause loss of control of the vehicle, could cause sudden breakdowns. As wide spread of a problem this is I dont understand why theres not a recall on it. All you have to do is search town country oil cooler and you'll see. We were on the highway when we noticed the oil burning smell. Lifted the hood and the oil was already over 2 quarts low.

The airbag light on our Town and country comes on from time from to time, but seems to go off after driving the van for a while. Every time we have taken it into the dealership, the light will be on but by the time we get to the dealership 30 miles away the light is off. With the light off the dealership cannot diagnose that problem. I am concerned that this is a safety issue in the case the air bags are ever deployed. This has been going on for the last couple of years.

For about a year the car has been giving me problems while its being driven. When I come to a stop it shakes and has cut off on me. It would restart with no problem. Then it stopped giving me problems for a little while. Then last Thursday, I got off at an exit from the highway and when I braked behind a car at the light, it stopped a little rough. I took my foot off the brake to move up a bit and the car started going backwards real slow while it was still in drive. I had to put the car in park and turn it off for a few seconds and restart and it took me to my destination. I'm terrified to drive it with my grandchildren but need my vehicle. It amazes me about the complaints with this same problem and Chrysler is not acknowledging the problem. I pray that something tragic doesn't happen. I have had this car checked repeatedly and they can find nothing and the check engine light doesn't come on.
