My vehicle broke down while driving down a main road. Vehicle started stuttering and stop moving in the middle of the road. I had to be towed from the middle of the road. The mechanic told me it is the transmission pump that had seized and failed. He also said there is a recall on my year vehicle. My vehicle VIN is not included in the recall but it presenting with the exact same problem as the stated in the recall. My vehicle also has a cracked left cylinder head. Vehicle began shaking at idol. I brought the vehicle into the shop and was told it is code P0304 cylinder 4 misfire. I was told the left cylinder head needs to be replaced. Was told by mechanic this has been an ongoing problem with this particular engine but no recall issued for my vehicle. I believe that both of these issues should be covered under the recall. My vehicle was purchased at a Chrysler dealership and I've only had it for 2 years. I have maintained it well and had all services performed on the vehicle since I've had it. In its state it is no longer drive able and the cost of repair exceeds the vehicles worth, making it a total loss.

The contact spoke with the manufacturer and they could not find anything related to the failures found by the independent mechanics. The dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,300.

Vehicle's tipm module failed, causing the vehicle to stall to a stop on a busy street. Hazard lights did not work. Transmission shifter locked itself in park. All cluster instrument warning lights were on. Uconnect sound system off. Power windows and locks disabled. Sliding doors locked and disabled. Engine remained running with key out of ignition. The vehicle's complete tipm failure, which also controls the hazard warning lights (which should be on an isolated circuit), contributed to a three car accident.

My vehicle is just over 3 years old and has had regular preventative maintenance done to it including regular oil changes. Two weeks ago the engine light came on and I immediately took it to my mechanic who has serviced the vehicle since I purchased it. They ran a diagnostic test on it and it gave them the diagnostic code of P0302, a misfire of cylinder 2. they noticed that the vehicle was making a loud shuffling noise in the motor and while the vehicle was idle it would shimmy and shake a bit and there was a smell of oil or gas and the engine would jump or skip sometimes but not major. They performed a full tune up and drove it a bit and the engine light was off but then the next day when I started the vehicle the engine light came back on so I took it directly back to the mechanic and they looked more into the diagnostic code that it was reading and found a recall on this same exact diagnostic code for the 2016 Grand Caravan 3.6 and 2016 journey 3.6 made by Dodge...which are the exact engines as the Chrysler Town & Country so I contacted my local dealership and they will not honor the recall on my vehicle for the exact same issue. I then contacted Chrysler directly and they said that they would gladly honor the recall if your organization issued the recall for this make and model vehicle since it is clearly related to the recall that has been assigned to the 2016 Grand Caravan and journey, recall #627908. My vehicle needs a cylinder head repaired or replaced and I do not want to continue to drive it and do possible further damage. I am trying to be a responsible consumer and address the issue correctly but I should not have to spend thousands of dollars on a major engine issue for a vehicle that is just over 3 years old and has been properly maintained and when there is an open recall for 2 comparable vehicles that have the exact same engine.

My 2016 Chrysler town and county van with 90,000 had a check engine light come on and it had a rough idle. Took the the dealer and they stated engine cylinder 2 and 6 we at 80% below operating capacity. I will have to pay $2,700 for repair and replacement of engine head. I was told the warranty is expired and no recalls on the vehicle. Reference to service bulletin tsb 09-002-09-2011-2013 and warranty bulletin D-14-12 for model Town and country-for same exact problem involving engine valve failure on the left side engine head. It appears the problem was not corrected in 2013. I called and did an online chat with Chrysler they said since warranty is expired contact the local dealer for assistance.

Drove car to work. Took key out of the ignition, but van continued to run. Disconnected the battery but van's engine continued to run. Drove it to an independent mechanic and it was diagnosed as a win module issue. Currently at another Chrysler dealer waiting for repair. This issue could have easily been a safety issue. If the win module had broken in the 'off' position on a busy road instead of in the "on" position.

Van started shaking and stalling, with engine light on. It would drive fine ot highway seeds, but shook bad and stalled at idle. I took it to Chrysler repair shop and they said it had a P0302 code. That is a misfire on left cylinder head #2 cylinder. After tear down it was confirmed it was #2 cylinder intake valve almost 85% leak down. (tech's statment) this required a new cylinder head. When we made appointment at schumacher automotive in delray beach fl. It was told to me my van was covered under fca recall of left cylinder head #2 cylinder recall. Upon dorpping it off it suddenly was not covered even though he used the same VIN info both times. The could not tell me why the difference in just one day. Between making appointment and bringing in. Tried calling fca in Michigan and was told the left head issiue had been fixed with my model year even though tech has had every P0302 code 3.6L engine requiring a new head, same as previous recal. My van has 73,000 miles and I purchased it used from hertz retal car. Fca said they could not do anything at this time unless I met 3 out of 5 questions about my van and me. I met only one and that was a loyal cusomer. No covererage.

Takata recall: I recently purchased a 2016 Chrysler Town and country less then a year and a half ago. I have had 2 major parts break in my rear end. The first one was the control arm and the second one was the axle beam which neither one are covered under warranty. I was driving when both of them went out! I'm extremely disappointed that since I've purchased 3 vehicles from Chrysler they will not cover the expense. This axle beam broke while I had my 2 young children which are 5 and 3 in the van while going around a curve at 20mph. I'm thankful that I was able to control my vehicle and we weren't in bad weather. The technician also informed me I have an oil leak on the top of my motor which is covered, but I have to pay $100 for them to fix. With that being said I'm highly disgusted with Chrysler and will not purchase anything from them again!

While driving down a rural road at approximately 55mph the engine suddenly shut off. The gas tank was only 3 miles from full after just having filled the tank, and no electrical lights or sensors indicated any issues. I was able to stop in the middle of the road as there was no traffic and restart the vehicle without incident, which was advantageous as I had my three young children in the vehicle and could have been dangerous otherwise. This happened only one time, and has not happened again. I did not take it to a dealership or repair shop, or report it to anyone other than my husband and family.

It has 30000 miles driven. She had to evacuate the children, and it was towed to a Chrysler dealer (miller in lebanon, nh) we are waiting for a diagnosis.

We had just turned into our subdivision and all the lights in the dash illuminated, the windshield wipers turned on and then while driving down the road the engine shut off. We were traveling at a low speed so when the van came to a stop we were able to restart it. The dealership didn't sound to concerned and are going to look at the van on Thursday. I'm extremely disappointed with their response as this could have easily happened with my kids in the car when it was traveling at a higher rate of speed.

Vehicle has had repeated issues with acceleration and shifting gears since purchase. Vehicle will not accelerate over 40 mph while driving and rpms redline. It has been in for repair for over 40 days since March 2016 and is currently at dealership. Most recently the vehicle lost all power, including ability to steer and brake properly, after being in reverse backing out of my driveway. During the last two incidents, no warning lights have illuminated, nor have there been any fault codes found in the vehicle's system. The van is extremely unsafe and unreliable, and is a danger to myself and three young children - as well as other vehicles on the road. I have requested arbitration under New York state's lemon law and I have attached a copy of paperwork recently submitted. The pdf describes, in greater detail, the ongoing issues with the vehicle, as well as Chrysler's repeated attempts to service it without success. Since vehicles are mass produced, I worry that other consumers are experiencing these same dangerous issues, with no remedy in sight. Thank you for looking into this matter.
