After driving at highway speeds the van would no longer shift out of 2nd gear.it would remain stuck in 2nd until the van was turned off/on. Upon restarting the cycle would complete. I was told by an independent mechanic that the transmission needed to be rebuilt and when I contacted Chrysler iwas told that I was on my own that they were not responsible. I informed them of the large number of documented problems with these vans and that this was a well known problem, but they insisted that there were no problems and that it was my responsibility. I have an appointment with a Dodge dealer to look at the car.

While traveling at approximately 35 mph a clicking noise came from under the van. I removed my foot from the accelerator and the noise softened. I then reingaged the accelerator to resume speed at this point there was a loud noise from under the van and I observed pieces of metal and fluid exiting the rear of the van.
