Vehicle was leaking oil. Took vehicle to mechanic, and mechanic indicated external cylinder gasket was gone. Dealer contacted. Consumer stated that the van had numerous problems, power steering loss, back wheels on fire, complete brake failure and engine would seize and stop.

Chrysler needs to recall as my independent mechanic reported that he has seen this problem with this type of engine many times although chrylser maintains that this is "not a common problem".

This is the fourth time the serpentine belt has shreaded apart. The first time was at approximately 20,000 miles. When the belt goes there is, of course, no power steering (which seriously affects the handling, no power brakes (which affects the stopping) and the water pump dos not work (causing the van to overheat rather quickly).
