Vehicle stalls and dies 6-8 times immediately after filling tank with fuel. It does this every time I fill it. Purchased car on 7/27/2019. Recall on airbags actuator was repaired at dealership but is not showing as documented on your website.

Car stalls after fill up. Pull into traffic and you lose steering breaks ect. Need to put in park to restart. Will continue and miss and stall for about 5 miles. Once you run some fuel out of the car it runs exceptional until the next fill up.

Thankfully, the other drivers avoided hitting us until we got it restarted. Then at highway speed the car again started bucking and choking. Research online shows this to be a common issue with this vehicle. This is a dangerous problem that concerns me greatly!

The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The manufacturer informed the contact to call NHTSA. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failuire mileage was 64,000.

My 2006 Dodge Charger has developed a stalling issue every time I fill with gas. I have tried different things as far as not filling to the top or not topping it off with gas. I filled with gas along an interstate and when I was trying to get on the interstate it quit on me down the off ramp when I was to merge with traffic. Was able to get car to the side of the interstate and re-start but died again. Started again and then it ran with no issues. Now it has issues every time it is gassed up. I filled up yesterday and same thing died out at a stop sign trying to get on the highway. I have heard this is a big issue with these cars and I'm surprised that there hasn't been anything done to Dodge to fix this issue. I've heard it could cost up to $1,500 to fix. I like the car but it is a safety issue to drive it. Please help! thanks

My 2006 Dodge Charger rt with the road and track option will intermittently loose power and often die after filling gas tank. Even if you don't completely fill it still will die unexpectedly. I never top the tank off with more gas. In addition when car dies going around a curve, the power steering goes out making driving really dangerous. The engine dies at nearly any condition. When traveling at highway speed, after accelerating after stopping. It happens most during acceleration after turns.

Power shuts off randomly, stalling, acceleration lost, but will fire right back up if you flip the key around or put in neutral. Very unsafe if traffic coming and it shuts right down. Also while in park it's shuts off

Recently, after pumping gas into my car and after driving for a few moments, the car stops as I approach a stop sign or a light. This has happened to me immediately after at least 3 recent gas fill-ups. I shut off my car and start it up again and after driving a short period, it happens again. This only happens after I pump gas into my vehicle (2006 Dodge Charger R/T). This has happened on city streets as I am fearful of going on the expressways with the possibility of it stalling and stopping. I believe there is a faulty valve or gas tank situation.

After filling gas a check engine light comes on and the vehicle stalls while being stopped at lights. The vehicle has had all emissions components replaced except for the evaporator canister and fuel tank. Unknown as of yet if the vehicle stalls under highway conditions, but close to being hit in the rear when vehicle stalls at traffic lights.

After refueling and if I leave the pump, but not the station, I experience bucking and/or stalling and loss of steering and brakes. This happens even up to a couple of miles of driving. My car bucks violently at highway speeds and even stalls. If I stop at a stop sign or light, it stalls. It happens on a soft or hard acceleration. I tried them both. If I do leave the station immediately, it will then happen on a city street, road, even on the interstate. It happens after every fill-up, so travel is not only unnerving, it's unsafe... losing steering or brakes. They told me not to top off at the gas pump. I don't. it happens on the flat, up hill, down hill, turning right or left, warm weather or cold weather, high or low humidity, it still happens. I was told that it is about a $1500 fix. If I had $1500, I wouldn't be driving a 13 year old car.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. While driving 60 mph, the engine would shut off. The eas code indicator illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who found a manufacturer recall pertaining to the fuel tank. The contact did not receive a recall notification. The manufacturer stated that they could not assist since the vehicle was too old. The contact also stated that the vehicle stalled after fuel was added to the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to village Dodge, Inc. (819 NY-66, hudson, NY 12534, (518) 828-1585) and the failure was repaired. The stalling failure had not been resolved. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the vehicle's computer system misread that there was no fuel in the tank. As a result, all the electrical components shut off. The failure mileage was 54,000.

Filled up tank. Drove car for 1/2 hour approx 30 miles. While making a left hand turn at a low rate of speed the car stalled, shut it self off. The oil lamp and traction control light came on. Car would not fire back up. Took a few attempts. Upon restarting the car was running rough. Continue driving at very low speed attempting to turn into parking stall car again stalled and shut it self off. Felt the car was unsafe to drive home. Had it towed.

My 2006 Dodge Charger completely died on me while driving at 40 mph. Luckily I was alone on a city road but lost all control and felt I was barley braking and steering was near impossible. I was able turn everything off in the car and restart but it happened 3 other times within 2 miles. At one point while turning left on a highway it died; I was almost to a point to hitting other cars turning left in same direction and others behind me. I was able to drive 4 miles today without incident however after researching this exact issue among other Charger owners I searched for a recall and nothing has been said by Dodge. This issue doesn't seem to be from personal actions but a flaw in a system on this make/model. It has happened to me twice before a few years ago however I read something about a gas cap and felt it was isolated. After last night and reading blogs today I see that this is a wide spread issue and not caused by not maintaining a vehicle or bad driving. This is an issue in design or manufacturing. Had this happened in any other driving setting during rush hour someone could be seriously injured or killed. I notified Dodge and reported the issue but they said I would not be contacted and to keep receipts if something was wrong in case they do recall something. Why hasn't this been corrected after all these reports for the same issue to this many of the same vehicles? this has been happening since I reported it in Jan of 2017 on safercar.gov. No action or contact has been made.
