This isn't the 1st time that the engine has stalled after filling the fuel tank. Most recent episode happened as I was preparing to enter the gas stations drive-thru car wash...I had my foot on the brake to enter the code for the wash and just as I started to move forward the engine stalled. Happened a couple of months ago on the public right of way, I was stopped at a red light (just after a fuel up and just before I was about to enter the freeway). Another time I was in motion and it stalled in the middle of a busy intersection. The stalling affects the transmission. The engine is warm when this occurs. It takes about 3 attempts to successfully restart.

Within blocks of leaving a fuel station and filling with fuel the vehicle stumbled then the engine died while traveling 35 mph on a city stream in the rain. Car was difficult to stop because of no power steering or power brakes.

The car suddenly stalled and engine turned off. The steering was locked and was unable to move. I was turning into my subdivision when suddenly this happened. I was probably around 5 mph. Luckily there was no car behind me. I was able to put the car in park and start it and drive home without issue. The second time it got stalled when the same day I had to take my son to one of his class. When I was stopped at the light, the car stalled. This time it took few tries to get the car started. Once it started, the RPM was fluctuating as if it was starving for fuel. Since other complains have references to this happening after filling up gas, I want to mentioned that I had filled the gas the day before and I must have drove 20 or so miles before this happened first time.

I had just filled my gas tank and pulled on to a busy road. As I approached the stoplight the vehicle just died. It did not start right back up, it took 3 different tries. This has now happened 4 times. All times were after I filled up at the gas station.

This is not the first time this has happened and this is flat out dangerous! after driving all day I was almost out of gas so I stopped at one of my regularly used gas stations. As like I always do when I get gas I got a full tank and I do not overfill, once the handle pops I'm done pumping. Vehicle started fine and I drove off the gas station with no problems. Once on the main road I approached my first turn and in mid turn going about 20mph my vehicle just stalled, no warning or nothing it just randomly stalled. Once the car rolled off the main street I put it in park and tried to start it up again. No luck, the vehicle wouldn't start. It took a few tries but managed to get it running again. To my surprise I didn't have a check engine light so I sat there for a while revving the engine and even shut it off and restarted it, everything seemed fine so I went on my way. Shortly after I drove off it happened again and this time I was just driving straight. From the gas station to my home is about 10min and in that short time frame the vehicle randomly stalled 4 times! this went on for a few days until my fuel lvl was about 3/4 full? after researching online on Dodge forums I was able to find out what may and most likely be the issue with my vehicle. Some say its a collapsed gas tank which affects a check valve in the gas tank that is for the evap system. When you have a full tank and the system opens up to release gas vapors back into the engine it's actually sending raw fuel back into the engine which in turn floods the vehicle and causes the stall. Of course this part can't be replaced or fixed since the tank and those parts are sold as one piece which is big $$$! my only fix for this until this is recalled is I don't get a full tank anymore. This is a serious and dangerous issue which should be recalled immediately before someone gets into a serious accident.

Problem occurred and continues to occur after filling up the gas tank. First instance was in November 2010 and most recently December 2013. Car will stall numerous times until some amount of gas is burned off after driving. First instance occurred making a turn in front of a railroad track. Other instances have been on a freeway in heavy traffic causing me to have to pull over. Car can restart on the first re-attempt or take up to 4 attempts. Car will usually stall again seconds later. A workaround is not to fill up the tank all the way (to the auto shutoff of the gas pump) but this doesn't always work. This is with a 2006 Dodge Charger with a 5.7 liter hemi. Chrysler denied the issue back in 2010 although the problem was starting to be documented on the internet at that time.

While I was driving approximately 35 mph my vehicle suddenly stalled causing me to lose power to the motor and power to the steering and brakes. I had to quickly pull off to the side of the road as the traffic was heavy and I had no power to control my car. This was a dangerous situation and I fear it may happen again. I have read about (Dodge Charger forum) many other owners of similar vehicles that this problem occurs shortly after you fill up the gas tank. I did just fill the gas tank prior to my car stalling incident. I feel this is a dangerous defect that develops on this vehicle and it needs to be looked into immediately.

Every time you fill up the gas tank the car wants to stall. I'm told there is a solenoid in the gas tank that fails and it lets raw fuel go to the evap canister causing a stall condition. This solenoid valve is molded into the gas tank and the only way to fix it is to replace the gas tank. This stall can happen while your sitting at a stop light or just pulling out into an intersection. The intersection situation is very dangerous.

Nearly every time I refuel the vehicle it stalls 4-6 times in the first 5 miles. This has left me in turns without power steering, on highway on ramps without power steering or brakes, and sitting in busy intersections attempting to re-start the car. It is worse if I turn left after gassing up - car will immediately die while in the intersection. This has happened approximately 30 times in the last 10 months.

Immediately after fueling, the vehicle stalled while leaving the gas station and lost all belt driven components as a result - power steering, A/C, etc. The vehicle subsequently stalled several more times while driving, and exhibited labored acceleration in between. This was the first incident and has been repeated every time it was refueled until pump shut off since, regardless of different gas stations and fuels.

Our 2006 Dodge Charger was showing symptoms of the wheels being out of alignment, and we had it checked out by a mechanic. We knew what he was going to say before he came back with his assessment; its the tie rods once again. We have had problems with the tie rods on this car from the 3rd month of owning it. We have had it fixed by the dealer 3 times along with new brakes and tires at the cost of $2,000 each time. We drive 20 miles a day to and from work, there is no reason for the tie rods to be replaced. I have complained to the dealership and they told me that it is an issue that we will continue to have and there is nothing we can do about it. He had 4 Chargers in that day with the same issue. I contacted Chrysler 2 days ago because we need to have the tie rods fixed for the 4th time. They told me they would forward my complaint to the product development team. Chrysler needs to own up to the defective products they are selling! I'm afraid for our family of 4 to ride in this car. Do people have to die before an investigation is warranted? I want to get rid of this car but I hate to pawn it off on another family, its dangerous! please do an investigation, and ask dealerships and mechanics how many defective tie rods they place on these cars a day.

I was ready to leave work for the night and my car would not shift out of park we tried to use the emergency release button on the side of the gear shift but it didn't work.I called a mechanic and he came out googled the problem and saw that it may have been a shifter assembly defect, as he looked at the assembly there was noted to B a cable wire the was also dislodged, he advised me to have the car towed to a Dodge dealer for repair.the car was taken to the dealership and the entire shifter assembly and cable had to be installed.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph, the power steering assist failed followed by the vehicle stalling. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel tank would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified and they offered to cover seventy-five percent of the repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 102,000.

I purchased my Dodge Charger in August of 06. At 22,316 miles, I started experiencing a clunking in the front end. The left outer tie rod needed to be replaced. It was covered by the warranty. I purchased the extended warranty for 5/50,000. At 51,972 the clunking returned. The remaining tie rods, inner and outer, including the one that was replaced at 22,316 had to be replaced. As of now my car has 67,800 miles on it and in between 51,972 and 67,800 miles, the clunking has returned several times. I have had a left control arm, lower ball joint, sway bar link, control arm bushings, rt and lt tension struts and sway bar bushings all replaced. I think for a car with only 67,000 miles on it...... this is way too many problems, especially when all the problems are in one area of the car. It sure would be great if Dodge would own up to these front end problems and stand by their product and help the american consumers out with the repair bills.
