The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Charger. The contact was driving approximately between 60-65 mph on normal road conditions. The vehicle began to accelerate uncontrollably. Immediately, pressure was applied to the brake pedal, followed by no power response. The vehicle slowed down after several attempts. The driver was able to gain control and pulled over to the side of the road. The engine was turned off. The vehicle restarted and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on two separate occasions for the identical failures. The technician cleaned the fuel injection and performed an oil change. In addition, there was a replacement of the accelerator pedal. The contact had concern of the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was 29,000. The VIN was unavailable.
