Having a transmission related issue. Vehicle makes a jolt foward when coming to a complete stop. Sometimes it's not so bad but you can tell it's downshifting late or hard when completing a stop. This happens 90 percent of the time when my vehicle comes to a stop. I have the 8 speed transmission in the SXT version Charger V6. I have done my research and have found many Charger owners experiencing the same issue with no results on what's the cause or how to fix the issue. Dodge is supposedly aware of this issue and has since came out with a PCM transmission flash update. The update has proven to be ineffective for everyone including myself. The problem affects 2011 -2014 8 speed Chrysler and Dodge. I have owned my vehicle for 4 months and have been back to the dealer several times and have been told nothing they can do unless a recall is placed.

While driving I-405N at approx 63mph, my cel & tc lamp illuminated and car stalled out leaving me with no steering functions, then suddenly it turned back on and red-lined for almost 20secs straight leaving me at wot speeding straight towards the vehicle in front of me. The dash flashed something in the instrument cluster right before it shuts off but too quickly for me to be able to read it, the white box that highlights the selected gear turns orange and highlights all gears, then tachometer and speedometer fall to zero. This has happened on multiple occasions. I was able to record the the dash display on my phone when it was occurring back -to-back. I pulled fault codes(U0101, U1110, U1120, U11bc, U0121, U0100, U212). I took the car to dealership 2 weeks previously, they just reset my cel lamp and said bring it back if it happens again. This is dangerous and needs to be taken care of before it causes serious injury or death! I believe the problem is with the ECM and tcm programming, or the modules themselves. Included is screenshot from the video I recorded as it stalled on the fwy for the 3rd time in 10 minutess.

I have a 2014 Dodge Charger SXT with the 3.6 V6 engine and the new 8 speed transmission. The transmission is not shifting properly; when it is cold, the engine will rev-up between shifts, and it has severe downshifts. When the temperature, (ambient and vehicle), is normal the up-shift problem goes away but the downshifting problem still remains, (at times)! I have taken it back for repairs 3 times, (for this problem), and nothing has helped. This is a very nice vehicle and I want to be able to keep it and enjoy it, but this problem is sure ruining an otherwise nice vehicle. I have been told that this transmission has been very troublesome since it`S introduction and I am wondering if a recall is pending?? if not, it should be!!!!!!! the last time I let the vehicle with my dealer, they said that they "couldn't duplicate the problem", even though the technician that always works on my vehicles, admits that he heard and felt the problems that I describe. I made a complaint to Chrysler and they basically told me to get lost ! they said that the service manager, (at the dealership), said that there is nothing wrong with my vehicle, that is the way this transmission is supposed to operate !!!!!!! unbelievable !!!!!

The vehicle's engine was cold and it had been sitting in a parking lot for four days. I was attempting to merge into traffic from a toll booth. The vehicle would not accelerate past approximately 10 mph and it lost speed but the rpms were increasing. This went on for approximately five seconds and then the check engine light came on and I was able to accelerate into traffic. I drove for approximately 30 miles at 70 mph (after calling a servicing dealer who told me I would be okay driving the car unless the check engine light started to flash) then stopped for a traffic light. At the next two traffic lights the vehicle would not accelerate with cars backed up behind me and honking. The mph were at 15 but the rpms were at 2200. This went on for about five seconds at each light then happened again as I tried to merge onto another highway that was under construction with concrete barriers on both sides and had no where for me to wait for acceleration. The servicing dealer said they couldn't get my car in for 4 days. Two days later the check engine light went off. The next day the servicing dealer said they could not diagnose the problem without the check engine light on. They drove it for three days and then gave it back to me undiagnosed. The next day they said bring it back in because Dodge engineers read the computer code and told them to replace the transmission. The servicing dealer discovered metal shavings in the pan while replacing the transmission. The servicing dealer did not know what caused metal shavings in the pan but one of their employees told me on the side they see the problem a lot and drivers will call because they hear a loud boom from the car.I am a week out with the new transmission and still notice it does not upshift smoothly when the engine is cold. Neither the servicing dealer or the selling dealer will help me with an extended warranty.

I was driving a rented 2014 Dodge Charger on a rural road and needed to turn around. I began a three point turn and when I attempted to shift the transmission in to reverse the shifter would not go in to the reverse position. As a result I was stuck crosswise across the road, in danger of being struck broadside by any oncoming traffic. Fortunately there wasn't any traffic. I continued to attempt to shift in to reverse and after several more attempts I was finally able to. This was just one of several times during the week I rented this vehicle that I was unable to put the shifter in to the gear I needed, whether it be drive or reverse. This is a potentially hazardous flaw. The shifter on this vehicle is extremely vague and frequently overshoots the desired position. The shifter seems to be electric rather than mechanical which would account for the absence of a mechanical locking of the shifter.

Ever since purchasing this vehicle there has been a clunking noise and the whole car moves whenever putting in gear or putting in park. And there is a loud clunk. I went to purchase gas at a shell station( I only use shell premium gas) and went inside to pay for the gas. I came back hit the fuel door release button and went to the pump. I went to place the nozzle in my tank and the metal plate that covers the fuel tank wouldnt not move. I called my husband and he came to help me and there was no way to get the plate open. I called the dealership where I bought the car and was told that they had never heard anything like that had I tried to put diesel in my tank. I am a former truck driver and know the difference between diesel and regular gas. And that was not the issue. The dealership also could not figure out what the problem is. I went to a station that has a mechanic and he used a tool and was able to unlock it so that we could fill up the tank. I am not currently driving the car until the dealership can get it in to be repaired because if I did run out of gas there is no way for me to put gas in the vehicle. So I am stuck without a vehicle even though I have a brand new car with less than 5,000 miles on it. This is ridiculous because no one seems to know how to fix the problem. And all the dealerships in the houston area have a 4 -5 day wait time for them to even look at my car.

While driving home from work, my transmission started to slip/skip and started to shift very roughly from that point. After a few visits to my dealer and after they kept my car for a week, it was then determined that the valve body inside the transmission needed replaced, and Chrysler will not give rental cars out due to the vehicle still being drivable. (wtf?) the part needed to fix the transmission is on backorder and Chrysler currently does not know when they will have it in because it has to come from a vendor, so now I'm stuck with a $40000 paper weight in my driveway until Chrysler gets off their sorry butts to get this problem resolved. Due to this part being on backorder, this is obviously a common problem that I feel Chrysler should make a recall.

Engine light came on while driving. Took it in for service and dealer stated that it's an O2 sensor malfunction. Dealer had the car for 2 days. They claimed that they replaced all O2 sensors. Engine light came on again after 1 week. Took it back to the same dealer and they stated that the software had to be upgraded. After 3 days, check engine light came on again. Took it back to the same dealer and they stated that the wiring harness has to be change. Service person said that he would have to order parts and as soon as it arrives. He will contact us. After 4 days, we called the dealership and they said that the service person that took care of us from day 1 had been terminated. Spoke to a new service person and he stated that he 's not aware of this problem. We insisted that the car be diagnose as soon as possible and gave us an appointment on 7/19/14. In the mean time, the car cannot be driven too far. Performance of the car is very erratic and would feel that it would shut off. Although, service person stated that is ok to be driven.

My vehicle is a 2014 Dodge Charger rt max AWD with a transmission problem...during 3-4 upshift check engine light was produced while driving between 30-40mph. Taken and serviced at marino cjd in Chicago on 6/2/14. Valvebody assembly replaced. On 6/3/14 during 3-4 upshift between 35-45mph check engine light produced again and engine power lost for 6 seconds and then regained. Taken for service again to marino cjd. Technician related same problem again. Chrysler main office instructed dealership not to replace the valvebody assembly again as the problem will happen again. Chrysler main office aware of the existing problem in similar vehicles as well and stated no solution available at this time. Technician at dealership related vehicle unsafe to drive. No recall has been issued by Chrysler. Chrysler told the dealership to clear the check engine light code and give me back the vehicle knowing full well the vehicle is unsafe to drive in the condition its in. Vehicle still at marino dealership sitting in the lot. Please look into the problem as Chrysler doesn't care that I am without a vehicle that I purchased 2 months ago.
