The upper ball joint on the right side of the tire warbled from left to right.

Regarding NHTSA action number PE03032 Dodge suspension front ball joint the dealership told me about 1 year ago that this needed to be fixed before they could align the front end of the car. I complaint that this should not prematurly wear out after 40000 miles. I just would like to state that I also have problems with this vehicle in conjunction with this action number. Thank you

My Durango has just over 60,000 miles on it. It has been very well cared for. During the first 3 years (while under warranty), the vehicle was taken to the dealer to check for squeaks in the front end. They said they lubricated the ball joints and the noise would go away for a day or two... then return. Recently on inspection, I was notified that the upper and lower ball joints needed to be replaced.because of recent announcements of failure of that front assembly due to ball joints, I wanted to add my bit of history as well. This car also has leaking seals on transfer case. I understand many people have had that problem along with transmission failure in the 60-70,000 mile range... so I probably have that to look forward to. The upper control arms, ball joints, and idler on my 1998 Dodge Durango with 38,000 miles were severely worn as identified during a routine inspection. I was forced to repair these items so to prevent a failure of the front suspension. I contacted Dodge regarding this defect yet they would not cover the repair. This is clearly a defect in the Durango and should be covered by the manufacturer.

The front end of my Durango has had over 3 thousand dollars worth of work, and has never had an accident and only has 60,000 miles on it. Both drivers and passenger side ball joints have been replaced (twice). Tie rod ends, control arm, and front shocks have had to all be replaced.the vehicle pulls to the right (dramtically) especially when braking, and has always done so, no matter what we do. This is an on going problem, the last replacement was done approximately 1 year ago.
