When trying to stop, the brakes seem to grab and then the car slides and then the brakes would grab again. This has happened about 5 times and resulted in concern re: The safety of the brakes. Sometimes there is a clicking sound after this happens. Therefore the car was taken to the Dodge dealer to have the breaks checked and no problem was identified. But on 4/7/01, when the brakes were applied, a loud roaring sound occured and the car continued to slide as if there were no brakes, which caused a collision into the rear of a vehical at a stoplight. The noise continued after the collision for about 30 seconds, followed by a strong burning electrical smell. The car was driven to a parking lot and has been driven home and does have braking action now.
