The hatchback tail light went out because water gets inside and doesn't drain. The whole back brake light has condensation. The bottom left part of light went out (shorted), but in time the whole brake light assembly will go out. This will be a safety hazzard and Dodge will be responsible if it is not fixed by recall. Consumer stated with the lights not well lit at night, it is possible someone wont see me. The water is getting into the racetrack lights on the lift gate. The majority of the lights in the back of vehicle is the racetrack lights on the lift gate. Chexk engine light has been coming on and off for the past few days. Got it scanned and the code the comes up is a P052 - faulty oul pressure sensor. After some research I found there are quite a few other models effected by this issue but only certain ones are being repaired without cost to customer. On my dash the oil preasure reads at 85%-100% at idle and stays at 100% when giving it gas.

I purchased my Dodge Durango brand new in 2014 and never had an issue with it. It is currently in great condition except that I recently took it in for an oil change on 3/9/19. It sat in my driveway until my wife drove it to work the following Monday morning. On her way home from work she started to smell an overwhelming burning electrical smell. I drove it back into the dealership where the oil change took place and they outright lied to me telling me it was a plastic bag burning on the catalytic converter. They could not prove it when I asked them to show me. I scheduled an appointment with another dealership for this Tuesday. So I did some research to see if anyone has had the issue and the internet is full of these vehicles having the same problem. I noticed that in a fe instances the issue was dud to a recall on the alternator. When I entered my VIN number in the NHTSA site, it does not come up as a vehicle that needs the recall completed. Why would my 2014 Dodge Durango be part of that recall? VIN [xxx] and also if this is not the issue why would I and so many others have the issue. Rear backup lamp light bar assembly is leaking water. Water visibly observed in light bar and causing led's to fade. Had it resealed by dealership continued to leak and now light bar has completely failed and no longer turns on, this is a major safety concern as well due to license plate light no longer functioning as well. Vehicle is scheduled to go in for repairs regarding a failed light bar and safety issue.

The rear liftgate "race track" light assembly badly collects water. I'm not talking condensation either. After a day of steady rain it almost fills both sides of the light. After one car wash it has about an inch of water in it. It happens any day, any time of the year when ever it's raining. I have to remove the two bottom mounting screws to drain the water out. Most of the leds have gone out and I swear I have seen smoke coming from the light once or twice. New from the dealership the light is over $1,000 and I have the extended bumper to bumper warranty which I have found does not cover the replacement even though it is a very widespread issue all over the web. The dealership told me for some reason some peoples warranty covers it and most are rejected. I feel this is a major concern since water and electrical components usually dont get along. I'm wondering how many vehicals must catch fire first before a complaint recall is issued" or do a few people have to be killed first" I personally know four people who have the same issue. This needs to be taken care of for the safety of the driver and all who follow behind us. Please read a bit on any of the Durango forums, mopar forums, or even on your own database of complaints. I know there are hundreds on there because I read the forums and am putting in a complaint. The two pictures I'm attaching are from one car wash, just ten mintues of periodically having water run down the back of the car filled that much. Its unacceptable and you know it is.....so do something about it.

I was driving on the freeway during a very bad rainstorm at night on January 16th, 2019. I was traveling around 50 mph on the freeway, in the number three lane, when my car shut off, where I lost complete power to my engine. My speedometer dropped from 50 to 30 mph immediately, leaving me with no power, to barely make it to the emergency lane. No power, no brake, no steering-nothing. My horn was also honking, my headlights flashing, windshield wipers attempting to move but unable to, and speakers making weird noises. And to make things even more scary, my 9 year old son was in the car with me. This is an issue that needs to be investigated, and possibly issue a recall. I feel that I am extremely lucky that my son and myself were not severely injured or even killed, with my car shutting off like that without warning. If I had not been able to cruise to the emergency lane, no doubt we would have been struck at a standstill by oncoming traffic, averaging 50-60 mph. I am extremely concerned, and this is a huge safety issue. I brought the car into the Dodge dealership, where I was told that it was from the rain and it shorted out my electrical. That's it. That's it? there should be a better explanation, and action taken to prevent something like this from ever happening. That car shutting off without warning from 50 mph to 0 mph on a freeway could have cost my son and I our lives. I am expecting to hear back from Dodge regarding this very dangerous problem that occurred, and I have also read about similar complaints with the Durango, so I know this is not a fluke. My rear racetrack light started filling with water. Shortly after the right side went out. Called my local Dodge dealer and was told I'd have to replace the whole piece which is $800+. this is ridiculous to have to replace the whole thing. Sounds like a design flaw to me. And when I researched this issue; it seems to be a regular thing for Durango owners. Wish mopar/Dodge would offer some assistance with this problem.

The tailight is not water tight and water leaks in and pools on the bottom. This water shorts out the tailight and causes it to not light up at all. This short circuiting can also cause multiple other issues for things unrelated to the tailight, causing other systems to short.

Rear racetrack tail light fills with water. Looks like Dodge overtightened the bolts causing the plastic to crack which leads to the main tail light to fill with water and short out. This causes the tail lights to not function making it a huge safety concern. Of course happens when vehicle is just out of warranty and Dodge won't do a thing about it, it according to them is a me problem. I have seen other vehicles with the same problem. This racetrack design tail light system is a terrible design and a dangerous one.

The backup light assembly is this vehicle fills with water during rain or car washes, speed is irelevant. The water shorts out the led lights, causing them to fail. The assembly is supposed to be water tight, therefor there is no way for the water it collects to drain. Therefore, the metal components of this assembly are also beginning to rust due to the persistent presence of water. Replacing this failed assembly costs $1,300. This component should continue to be water tight on well maintained vehicles, such as mine. This failure feels like a flaw in the design of the original part. Dodge should replace these failed assemblies at a much more reasonable price, or free of charge, due to the fact that the component is designed to last the life of the vehicle, and certainly isn't for me and many others.

Vehicle accelerated without driver input, including going up a hill without driver pressing accelerator. Engine redlined while stopped at a traffic light without driver input. Vehicle put into neutral, but engine revving would not decrease, and then driver put vehicle into park which continued to rev at high rpms, but vehicle would then not shift out of park. Vehicle was turned off and then back on after 45 to 60 seconds, but vehicle continued to rev engine at high rpms and showed that vehicle was in 8th gear. Approximately 30 minutes later, vehicle would not turn on. Tried to turn vehicle on and it would turn itself off without trying to start.

While vehicle was parked, I noticed the "racetrack" style led tail lights, specifically the large section across the trunk, on my Dodge Durango were no longer working. I did an online search and multiple incidents regarding this same issue popped up. It appears a faulty seal around the tail light allows for water to enter the inside of the light causing it to burn out. The only fix for this is to replace the entire led unit at a cost of over $1000 which the vehicle owner must pay for. The replacement of the led light does not fix the leaking issue allowing for the light to burn out again.

While operating vehicle (street, dry, day, speed approx. 30-40) ABS fault lights and brake warning light illuminated. When vehicle was parked would not restart or disengage park. After waiting 5 hours vehicle started with check engine light illuminated. On drive to dealer for service check engine light turned off, ABS lights then illuminated and on parking vehicle at dealer it would not engage transmission. Dealer incorporated recalls U65 update PCM and U06 autopark functionality. ABS module placed on order and dealer returned vehicle as fit for use 10 October 2018. After driving approx. 10 miles with ABS lights illuminated and parking for 6 hours vehicle restarted and behaved normally for.5 mile down entrance ramp to limited access highway. ABS lights illuminated, brake red light and check engine lights illuminated, vehicle slipped from gear and would not reengage. Transmission would not shift from park and all attempts to restart engine unsuccessful. Vehicle towed to dealer.

I bought the car in June 2017 and have had to replace all 4 tires since despite my many complaints. Yesterday, the vehicle shifted gears while driving, horn started honking uncontrollably until I had to remove the fuse, the screens all blanked out and flashed warnings, headrests voluntarily folding... all while my 3 children were in the car during a hurricane. Vehicle on board control panel constantly malfunctions, with the screen going black after ignition. System will remain inaccessible for prolonged period of time and will increase air temp to 75 degrees, with no way to stop or change air output. On board/uconnect connectivity continuously lost with no phone/communication access available (I.e., center light on rear view will be red most times). Have taken vehicle to multiple Dodge dealerships for repair, but repair shops claim to be unable to find a problem. Problem began after first system update.

Track lighting on the rear door is not sealed and water gets into the light housing and the rear camera as well as the license plate lights. Some of the lights in the track are out and I have to keep replacing the license plate lights. Water is just sitting on the lights so they burn out. I'm afraid this might start a electrical fire in the rear door or my rear lights will just stop working.
