I recently noticed still water inside my rear center tail lamp on the lift gate while parked before leaving home, that wouldn't leave, as a result of this a portion of the lamp had went out and no longer worked, eventually the entire lamp stopped working now causing a safety concern as I am now less visible to those behind me and causing me to be ticketed several times from law enforcement because of the lamp being out which is now turning this into a $2000 plus problem. I have done my research and have learned that thousands of other Durango owners from 2014 and 2015 are having this same issue and this needs to be a recalled part. I also have younger siblings that use my truck from time to time to travel to work and school and a grandmother who drives my vehicle at times and I can no longer let them drive my vehicle because I don't want them to destroy their driving record with constant tickets because of the lamp being out nor my grandmother or possibly getting into an accident due to the difficulty of being seen from behind now

Durango

The rear "racetrack" tail lamp which spans the liftgate fills with water. This is the second tail lamp assembly on my vehicle. The first one was replaced by Dodge under warranty. Less than 1 year later, the replacement is also leaking. Several reports of water in the lens causing ultimate failure of the electronics and the lamp.

Rear hatch tail light got water inside of it. Rain water. Poor seal. Now part of light is not working. The dealership quoted approximately $1200 to replace. Another $200 labor. Can't just replace a bulb. Have to replace the whole assembly. I am learning this is a common issue with Durango's that have this light. This is a manufacture flaw with these light assemblies. They should be recalled!

Durango

The center led light on my Durango somehow has water in it; the water originally caused a short on one side that dimmed the light. I first noticed December 2018 when a motorist stopped me after taking a picture. As of January 21, 2019 the light has completely went out due to the water damage. This has to be some sort of manufacturer defect as I am not sure where the water is entering in. On the 21st I was pulled over by a police officer because he said the flicking could potentially cause an accident. Luckily I was left off with a warning. Per westgate Dodge here in indy the fix will cost more than $1300 to correct. I have provided

Durango

Rear taillight assembly has water caused by a manufacture defect of not properly sealing light assembly. Vehicle was taken to the local Dodge dealership and was told this is a common problem with light assembly. This is a saftey problem and a recall should be issued. This can cause a rear end accident which will result in injuries. The vehicle used by a law enforcement Agency's across the country and can cause an injury to a law enforcement officer.

Dec 112018

Durango

  • 48,000 miles
The rear tail light assembly, middle portion, has collected water inside of it which comes in contact with the tail light led's inside causing them to short to ground. They blink/flash erratically but most of the time are not on. Also the license plate lights are affected by this and are not working either. Even after loosening the assembly and draining the water condensation can still be seen inside.

problem #50

Nov 212018

Durango

  • 22,000 miles
The lense on the center brake light (race track light), apparently has a defective gasket, allowing the brake lights to fill with water and cause them to go out. I only have 22,000 miles on this car, it's my baby! it will be awhile before I can fix this, as it will be over $1000 to repair. Ridiculous! safety doesn't seem to be much of a concern for Dodge.
