The contact placed a bag on the window; however, water entered the vehicle. Afterwards, while driving at unknown speeds, smoke emerged from the passenger side door, the other remaining doors failed to lock, and the windows failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact to call NHTSA. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 175,000.

I have had nothing but problems since day one of buying this car. Intermittently lags or does not start for long periods of time. Radio goes in and out lights come on and off while driving. Sometime the brake lights work sometimes they dont no one knows why. Got stuck in a parking garage for nine hours one day because the car lost all power could not put it into neutral and I could not find a tow truck small enough to tow me out. Then 9 hours later it started. Now I smell burning under the dash and my ac only works on the passenger side while the driver side blows out hot. There is definitely something wrong with the wiring of this car. This car has been to the dealership over 20 time under warranty for almost all the same problem with jo resolve. They cant recreation the problems so I pay deductables and rental car fees to get back the same broken car.

I bought a 2009 Dodge Journey in April of 2017. A week after having it the problems started. First it was a backing plate...no big deal...then it was the transfer case...then my speedometer quit working and a few lights on the dash board. I was thankful that they tried fixing it over several months. Then they said we will give you 6,000 for it....when I paid a little over 10,000 for it...no way! then September came around for inspection and I told them it sounds loud could you take a look at the exhaust. Well they passed the inspection....I took it back a week later and said it still sounds loud...well you need a whole new exhaust! why did you pass it knowing it needed this" I was told well at least you can still drive it. Here I am a year later for another inspection and it won't pass now because of the exhaust...I asked about the speedometer and their response was we will let that slide because it's been a ongoing problem since you bought it. So is it ok for them to be doing this to me? no speedometer...miles on it are definitely not right because they don't move...I have 3 children I drive around in this car...I have to drive my son to pittsburgh children's hospital every so often. Am I in the wrong or are they" I was never asking for any money back or a brand new car...I was only asking for them to make it right with us and they think they have.

I've had nothing but problems with my Dodge Journey my RPM ramp up to 4-5 whenever I attempt to go 40-45mph the check engine light is on. I took it to button Dodge and they fixed something that has to do with my transmission. Less then a month later it starts doing it again. So can you give me some advice on why. For the millenth time since purchasing this car in 2014 it failed to start again!!! I have had ever mechanic under the sun check electrical connections, batteries, starters, alternators, fuses etc. They find nothing wrong but the car continues to simpley not start. I've read a lot of people have the same problem with this car. Did anyone ever figure out why and what Dodge is doing about it? sometimes it happens when my car is parked angled. Sometimes on flat pavement. I got stuck with my newborn daughter shortly after I purchased the car and went back to depaula dealer I purchased it from in albany NY and they apologized and said they checked everything and nothing is wrong with the car. I'm scared to be stuck with my kids somewhere and honestly tired of sending it to the mechanic only to hear they can't find anything wrong. Any ideas or directions to give the mechanic would be great. Does Dodge actually have the answer and just don't want to issue a recall. I don't care if I have to pay to get it fixed. I just want to know what needs to be fixed!!! thank you

Faulty tipm. Car starts intermittently. Dealerships and all mechanics are unable to resolve. There are Dodge forums everywhere complaining about this problem why wont Dodge recall it already? my antitheft light comes on and disables the car. When trying to start the car, some days it starts and some days it doesn't. no error codes coming up. The dealership has replaced battery, alternator, neutral safety switch, and starter.

Rear parking, backup and licensed plate lights stop working due to wires broken inside the harness coming from vehicle to rear door, all the wires were broken inside the wire loom at top of the rear door to the vehicle, this is a common problem with this vehicle, the wires break depending how many times the rear door is open/close. Stranded cable wires use in this place are bad quality, like 7 wires inside the cable.

Car experiences intermittent ignition failure. While stationary with key in ignition, it will click but not start. We have replaced the battery, alternator, and starter but it continues to have issues starting over the past 3 months. The car sometime does not start after turning off engine. In order to restart I have to put my foot on the brake pedal, turn key to run with out starting, then shift lever to neutral, then turn key to crank motor to start. Most of the times the car starts as normal, but sometimes I have to put car in neutral to start motor. Moving the shift lever around seems to do the trick.

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the eps warning indicator flashed and the power steering failed to function. The steering wheel became extremely tight and there was an internal electrical failure, which caused the radio and brakes not to work. In addition, the brake indicator was illuminated. The dealer (transitowne Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram of West seneca, 2989 transit rd, elma, NY 14059, (716) 674-6400) diagnosed that the return power steering hose, cooler, and ABS unit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from the unknown ABS and brake system recalls and had not provided an electrical solution to the dealer. The VIN and failure mileage were not available.

After buying the car from the dealer we drove home and stopped to get gas. The car would not start. Finally after locking and unlocking the doors it started. Since then every day I drive it I continually have issues with it starting. Once while driving down the road it shut off and stopped. Almost caused an accident. Now I can not even get it started.
