Auto transmission will not shift, engine revs and no power, wrench light airbag warning lights, dead speedo, odometer shows dashes. Had trans fluid changed. No help. I have seen several problems noted on the internet. Dealers are not fixing the problem by rebuilding the trans for several thousand dollars. The trans failing should not affect the various electrical problems associated with this incident. The system will reset if the engine is turned off and then restarted with nothing indicating a problem. There doesnt appear to be any codes set. I urge Ford to embrace these problems before someone is hurt because the trans "jumps" out of gear and causes an accident. This reported problem should not be "news" to your complaints department. I have chosen to always prefer a Ford products during my 50 years of driving and expect an honest, thorough and concise investigation be given to this problem.

I was driving down the highway when my speedometer and odometer stopped working. Then it told me I had a error and a fault in my tire pressure system. My airbag light came on, indicating that it was off. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle. When I started it back up all the error messages cleared, but when I went to put my car into drive it sounded as if the transmission had dropped. I tried driving only to rev the engine up to 3000 RPM with barely any movement. When ever shifting from drive or reverse it made that loud popping noise. I took it to a dealership to be told it stopped doing it but they didn't fix it. They made no repairs. They are letting me pick the car up and drive it again with out any actual resolution, but they did charge me money to "look at the car". do people actually have to die for someone to issue a recall? I am reading thousands of reviews about the Edge that experiences the same problems. Lets issue a recall and develop some accountability!

While driving down van born road (heavy traffic) the speedometer stopped and went to 0 mph, the odometer read dashes, the wrench illuminated in the corner, and the airbag warning sign appeared. The RPM's in my vehicle began to climb higher as well and the car speedometer did not indicate any mph and began to decrease, after slowing down at ta red light I noticed my car would barely move and it slowly crept until I got home 1/2 mile from when I noticed the problem start. As soon as I parked other warning lights began flashing such as the tire pressure sign. I turned the car off and then back on and I experienced a hard start, which was loud, and when I went to change gears the car jerked violently as if the motor was jumping. When placing in reverse gear the jerk was even more violent, loud noise as if the engine was dropping out or I was being rear ended. I turned the car off and back on to see if the warning signals were still illuminated and they reset. When trying to see if the car would move I had to push the gas pedal almost all the way to the floor before the car would even move a little bit and again the RPM's revved really high. I ended up calling a tow truck this morning 8/20/14 and they stated that the transmission is trying to skip first gear and go directly to second gear; my car is currently in the shop. Prior to this incident I experienced occasional jerking while driving and the car was switching gears. It was very scary being a female and not knowing much about mechanics. Only 49,000 miles.

Vehicle was taken to power Ford in valencia for standard service a week ago. 41,000 miles new tires bought- was told all was ok. One week later I am driving when suddenly speedometer stops and mileage is reading --- grinding noise then a wrench icon appears which means the powertrain is malfunctioning, then the air bag light went on and then an ! icon which means there is a problem with tires. Terrified, I called power Ford and told to bring it in... I was less than a half a mile away, and put on my hazard lights and barely made it the few clocks to the dealership. This is a haunting problem that I have read at least a dozen comments about the power train. Had I been ion the freeway I don't think I would be alive. Please investigate this issue with the Ford Edge. I did not know the outcome at all. Thank you

I was traveling North on old mill rd in anderson, SC.I stopped at the stop sign and proceeded to cross the highway hwy 76. I had cleared the first lane and this car drifted from the right lane into the lane I was crossing broad siding my car none of the air bags deployed leaving me with glass everywhere. My drivers side door was completely pushed in that I had to be extracted through the back door on a backboard. The impact pushed my car back on to the highway going East. The left front wheel flew off the car landing onthe other side of the highway. Also thedoor lekift front spring disengaged. I could have been killed.

On 3/22/11 I was involved in a collision with 4 other vehicles; my 2008 Ford Edge limited was totaled. None of my airbags deployed. The driver side was so smashed; they were unable to get me out that way so they made me crawl out of the passenger side, which was difficult B/C all the damage was the front and driver side, and I was wedged in. Officials, witnesses, and the other drivers involved in the accident were amazed that I survived the accident, according to them I should have been dead; they were shocked I was 'ok'. the claim has been processed; lien holders are being paid and my portion will direct deposited next week. The thing is, I'm not ok. Airbags are there for the protection of driver and passengers, but none of my airbags deployed (easily verifiable). I don't want a long drug out lawsuit with Ford for the airbag issue. All I want is a new Ford Edge limited of my choosing with free maintenance, parts (I'll pay labor) for as long as I own the car. If they will not honor my request, I will notify tv stations, radio and an attorney.
