The car maintains a "door ajar" message (in reference to the driver door). The dashboard indicator light, cabin lights remain on while driving and I cannot engage the door lock on any door while in the vehicle. In addition, a warning sound continues to chime while I drive telling me the door is ajar. The door is in fact closed and I cannot get the dashboard indicator and sound to turn off while driving.

Vehicle has rolled off in park and did damage to vehicle the first time. This was when it crossed the highway and landed in creek.when I had it repaired I was told it probably happened with previous owner because it had an aftermarket front bumper on it. I was sitting in vehicle a few weeks later and it rolled in the parking lot and I had to shove emergency brake down. Found a recall that looks like what happened to my vehicle but the claim is that my VIN was not affected, but matches the description.

Door ajar sensor stays on. Interior light will not turn off and every time I stop it asks to be shift to park. Every time sensor malfunctions it prevents the vehicle from being locked. The vehicle was purchased as a certified used vehicle and 3months after I was at the dealer trying to get it fixed. I was charged a co payment off $100 and 3 months after the same problem persists. Now my warranty is over and I'm being charged $400+ to get it fixed.
