My Escape sel 1.6L 6 months ago after getting a full tank of gas my car started and then started to shake and stopped. Car would not restart for 10 mins and only if I press the gas pedal to the flood. Call dealership and they said they had not heard of a problem and let them know if it occurred again. My car is stalling making a noise, shaking and then no power just dies. I am scared for my safety. It does it now while I am driving. I have found where there is a recall for the same year built and type car for this issue. Just not for the 1.6 engine but the 2.0 engine. I have had the car checked at to car places and they can not find the issue.... this car is not safe please help!!!! please look at the nva-215sm 15V-813 agian this happens while I am driving down the road at 45 miles an hour or pulling our from a stop!! I have looked on line an there are at least 40 other complaints about the 2013 Escape 1.6L stalling while being driven! this is a safety issue!! and clearly the same issue as listed above on the 2013 Escape 2.0 engine they were made at the same plant in louisville, same year etc... I am concerned I will be hit or my car. I can not let me teenager drive this car!!!! help help help

No matter how much gas is in the tank there is a chance of the engine stalling. This stalling occurs at random. In traffic this is a very dangerous problem. So far we have had 3 close calls after stalling. My car engine has stalled a total of 8 times within the last year and a half. 65K miles and has not had any other gas line problems. This needs to be a recall and Ford needs to take responsibility before someone dies from the car stalling while in traffic. The car would stall while in motion in a street. The car would stall after start. The car will stall on a highway. The car would stall while turning.

Car stalls while driving. Never happens when engine is cold. Drive the car, turn off while in a store. Then I restart the car, starts normal, then start driving again and it stalls while you are driving. After it stalls, I pull off the road if possible, then turn the key off, and back on. It starts up normal again and then no more stalling issue - until I stop at another store, and the same problem happens again, and again... only seems to happen after turning off the car for 5-30 minutes, and then try to start driving again there is a serious risk of having an accident!! when the car just dies while driving down a highway, and you have to try to pull off the road - serious risk of having a bad accident. This problem started about 6 weeks ago, and is getting worse. Happens every day now!

1. my front bumper came apart 2 weeks after purchase at a place where the metal was welded and then came halfway of all pieces fell off attached to front bumper and no collision took place however when I backed up out of the parking space it caught on the curb and pulled apart even more. 2. since purchase after fill up the engine cranks however will not turn over without applying a little gas. 3. now yesterday I have too turn on ignition twice to start everytime I need to turn on the car. 4. I also had 5 recalls the dealership did not make me aware of fixed ( they only said rear seatbelts had to be replaced) well shortly after I purchased 3 doors wouldn't latch I had to rope my doors shut until I could get into sewel Ford. My family has been in so much danger in this vehicle. I am a 40 year old disabled woman with 3 children, my step -dad is blind, my brother is terminally ill and needless to say I need a reliable vehicle in one piece. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general and the dmv responded that an investigation has been set out to determine how much of this is manufacture defect and what part the dealership played by non- disclosure of remaining recalls making me believe they were concerned for our safety by fixing the rear seat belts.

I came to a stop at sign. The engine stalled. I put it in park and restarted the engine. It took an extra amount of time to start but did restart. I then proceeded to turn onto a busy road. Upon acceleration the vehicle hesitated and would not accelerate or respond to throttle input. I was able to pull to the side of road and narrowly avoid an accident. The check engine light did not illuminate nor are there any obd codes. Doing a little research, I have noticed that there are other year make and models that are having the same issue. I urge you to rectify this situation with Ford. This is not only a danger to me and my family but also to other drivers on the road.

Since purchasing this Ford Escape sel 1.6L, I've had repeated issues with coolant loss. Every time I've flagged it to the dealer, they brush me off and have filled up the coolant, saying they can't source the issue. I've been concerned that I've had a cracked cylinder head ever since the 13S12 recall in 2014. In recent years, the coolant loss issue had accelerated dramatically. It is unpredictable. And when it happens, the coolant will suddenly go from an ok level to substantially below minimum. Furthermore, the engine has a persistent burning smell over the past couple of years. I've had to drive around with a jug of coolant and a plastic solo cup to refill the coolant tank whenever the low coolant light lights up. Over the past 2 years, I've had to refill the coolant at least a dozen times. Overall, I am concerned this was a fundamental flaw from the very beginning, and instead of doing the proper thing and rebuilding/replacing engines back in 2014 when the 13S12 recall occurred, Ford put a band-aid over it and now the issues are re-arising just when so all the vehicles have had their warranties lapse. I do hope the NHTSA forces Ford to do the right thing here.

I have a 2013 Ford Escape 2.0 liter engine. It has been making a buzzing sound from the gas tank for months. Usually after I put gas into it, the vehicle stalls. Now the check engine light is on, the buzzing is worse and the car stalls while driving, . it stalls at any speed. The code is P1450 and everything I've looked at states the no gas cap system is faulty and causing issues. The issue now is a huge safety issue. These cars were recalled for this very issue and why Ford is not fixing this is frustration. The dealership is no help, they just want to start installing parts, etc. Every forum I've looked at says that the parts do not fix the issue. I'm beyond frustrated and scared to drive this car.

I bought this used 2013 Escape a little over a year ago from a local Ford dealer. I loved this vehicle for about the first six months. Then I started having problems with the engine running very rough suddenly. Sometimes a message on the dash reads message fault / service engine now. Sometimes the engine will run rough and then stall out. Sometimes the engine just shuts off while driving. I can fix it by coming to a stop, putting it in park, turning off the ignition, waiting several seconds to power down and then restarting. Most of the time the after doing this the vehicle will start running again or the rough idle will clear up like nothing ever happened. I can go days and even a couple of weeks without incident. Other times I can have it happen several times in a day. I have had this problem with different levels of fuel, with the A/C on and the A/C off, in the rain and on sunny days. It has happened with the engine cold first thing in the morning and happened after driving for hours. I took the vehicle to the Ford dealer and they said the vehicle didn't have any fault codes stored in it. They said my vehicle had all the required recalls done. They could not get it to duplicate it while at their shop. They said their best guess was a faulty fuel sensor. They replaced the sensor. Less that a month later the vehicle was still doing the same thing again. The engine will shut off while moving, sitting in park or sitting in drive. Needless to say this creates a very dangerous condition while driving in traffic. After having this problem so much I started researching this on the internet and found out this was a problem with many Ford Escapes. Several year ago Ford recalled this vehicle and replaced a faulty wiring harness to fix it. I guess it didn't. I wish Ford could find out what is wrong with this problem, otherwise these vehicles need to be off the roads.

Takata recall my vehicle had endless issues and problems. I would drive a mile or so to gas station, turn off car, get gas and then the car wouldn't start or drive 15 miles, do a job, 30 minutes later get in and the car wouldn't start. It took several times for the vehicle to turn over and then stay running. I would throw it into gear to get the engine running and sometimes it'd be fine, other times it would bog down and stall. I got into an accident and my car was totaled. I had mechanics look at the issue and they would say the O2 sensor, wastegate solenoid or evap leak. They would nickel and dime me with all these little things. The codes were, P0234, P26B7 and P0456. They said coolant was getting into the fuel system and that was contributing to the stalling and problems. I had to see a chiropractor after my accident due to spinal pain and discomfort. However, it was worth this getting rid of this lemon once and for all. If anyone else is experiencing these problems, post the fix so that it can save someone else from financial, emotional and physical pain. I didn't let anyone drive my vehicle(wife/family) because I never knew when it would stall and where.

My husband & I became concerned when the car started shaking while driving; soon after, the issue getting gas started. Everytime we needed gas the car would not start after filling up, then the transmission light came on. We took the car to our mechanic who could not find anything wrong with the car & recommended we take the car to auto nation Ford which we did. We were told that we had to replace the fuel vapor separator which cost us $765; today one month later our transmission light came on again. I think it is unfair to have to pay $765 only to have to return to auto nation a month later. This seems to be an issue that should be considered a recall; a vehicle is suppose to start after getting fuel instead of not starting. Luckily we have not had an accident over this issue but I am concerned that my car will stall anytime while driving. I still don't know what's wrong with my car but I'm sure the cost will keep increasing.

The car hesitates sometimes when pressing the gas, mostly from the stopped position. For instance I've been driving and stop at a stop sign, check for oncoming traffic on the cross street(which does not have a stop sign/signal), when it is safe to proceed I press the gas to cross the intersection and the car slowly rolls out into the intersection and then finally after rolling for a few seconds will pick up and go. This happens while I'm pressing down on the gas pedal all the way. It's very dangerous while trying to cross a street with oncoming traffic. I've tried lifting my foot and pressing back down when the car doesn't move like it's supposed to and it doesn't work. It's only started doing this in the last year or so maybe and it doesn't happen every time, but very scary when it does happen, especially when I have my kids in the car. I've also had it happen when I've been on the freeway and have had to slow down from taking an exit onto another freeway and when trying to get back up to speed and it like it takes it a minute for the car to realize it's supposed to be accelerating.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, it stalled without warning on more than one occasion. After the failures, the contact turned the vehicle off and it was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to several independent mechanics. Coggin deland Ford-Lincoln (2655 North volusia avenue, orange city, Florida 32763, (386) 490-4325) was made aware of the failures and replaced the low pressure fuel pump sensor. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with case numbers: Cas-AS15834530 and cas-1576. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

I brought my car to a mechanic because there was a strong gas smell in my car during and after operating. My mechanic informed me the fuel line from the rail into pulsator/damper is leaking. He said the cable next to the fuel line has been rubbing against it and caused the leak. There is a current NHTSA recall 13V584000 for my exact car make, model, production date and engine style but my VIN is not listed as an affected vehicle, yet it is experiencing the exact issue. The Ford dealership will not address this as a recall because of this. The mechanic stated what he observed is exactly in line with the recall.
