Car falsely indicates overheating and goes into -??limp mode-?? not allowing me to accelerate even while driving. Has occurred on freeway, while parked, in intersections, and has posed a threat to my safety over a hundred times. Been yelled at by other drivers and almost hit countless times because I-??ve been unable to accelerate whilst trying to pull over safely. -??Hill start assist not available-?? appears and then -??engine fault service now-?? accompanied by the speedometer going to 0mph (even while driving) as well as the RPM-??s going to 0. Lastly, -??high engine temperature-?? appears and car starts shaking and lurching and the engine gets extremely loud until I-??m able to turn it off. Sometimes turns back on right away, sometimes I-??m stuck in car on side of road/freeway for minutes-hours. Been to 2 Ford dealerships as well as many mechanics and have been told it-??s fixed several times and it has not been. After replacing transmission, spark plugs, corroded wires, coolant, and more, Ford dealership said they have no idea what is wrong with car. Exploring online I found many other reports of 2013 escapes having the same issues as well as other Ford vehicles. This has affected my safety too many times and I-??m unable to find a solution anywhere. Check engine light is always on unless cleared. Has been occurring on and off (more frequently as time passes) since I got car 2.5 years ago and have been unable to receive any help or solutions. Occurs at any speed, even while in park. I have videos as well of the car not turning on and actively showing these alerts whilst I-??m driving. Sometimes the car will even be -??on-?? but the entire dash is black as if the car was off.

For the time I have owned this Ford Escape (4.5 years) the coolant has been leaking since I drove it off the lot. They could not find any leaks and just topped with coolant until the warranty expired. I have had numerous repairs done to my car and as of 06/18/2022 the coolant leaks is so bad I-??m having to fill it up with antifreeze twice per day. It-??s leaking from the driver side but they can never tell me exactly where. I-??ve contacted Ford directly about this to be told my Vin number does not fall under the engine coolant recall, however it-??s the same engine size etc. the check engine light has came on for 4.5 years but goes off so I don-??t get the proper time to retrieve the code. It will sometimes loose power in the middle of roads and highways which is very dangerous. Please can you help me. I have an investigation into my 2013 Ford Escape eco boost 1.6L overheating, Vin number is not synced with the current recall for the coolant leak/overheating/fire troubles.

My radio went out about 3 years ago had to be replaced and now I can not listen to my radio without the car actually being on. My second issue is with my rear axle drive train, I currently have 127k miles on my vehicle took it in to a Ford dealership for diagnostic and repair I was informed that the rear axle needed replacing, they replaced it, however the problem persisted I was then told by the Ford mechanic that the axle assembly needed to be replaced. I spent 1k for the first repair now they want $2683 for the axle assembly, have there been other complaints regarding this parton 2013 Escape??

I have 2 issues 1.) my car is leaking coolant not sure from where. The leak is getting worse. I have coolant in my car, it was parked in the garage I made it a block from my house and my car shut down. Said it was overheating, don-??t even know how it coul have been that hot. The car was not registering hot inside, also the temperature gauge not registering hot. I waited 1 1/2 hours came back and my car won-??t go anywhere because I-??m still getting the overheating message. 2.) my rear windshield wiper started making odd noises, then I kept finding my windshield wiper hanging straight down. It no longer wipes, but still makes noise. But it no longer works at all. A friend looked up this vehicle and saw there were common issues in complaints and told me to look to see if there were any recalls before I continued forward. But I don-??t see anything pertaining to either issue.

Transmission developed a sudden delay when put into drive and jumped suddenly into gear and then shake between higher gears and then started running as if in neutral so that I could only coast it or pull the shifter into S mode where it would move forward very slowly for about a 1/4 mile at which time it quickly began running hot. It was only then that a warning came on that stated: ENGINE FAILURE SERVICE ENGINE SOON. Transmission mechanics refuse to internally assess or attempt any repairs due to "closed" system and are recommending a $4K complete replacement. My VIN number has no recalls related to this issue.

I have 113k miles in my 2013 Escape. I hit the accelerate and it hesitates. Sometimes when I back it stalls, when I come to a stop, it stalls. It's stalled on me a few times going 55 in the passing lane. CarMax said it is not showing any codes to fix anything under warranty. I've read there are some complaints from other Escape owners having the same issue. What should I do?

The ABS/Traction Control light comes on and a message flashes on the screen saying that 4 wheel drive is disabled and that hill assist is disabled. The vehicle will not accelerate when the gas pedal is pressed causing the driver to be put in harm's way if trying to enter traffic or go through an intersection. When hooked up to a scanner, it says that there is a bad ABS/Wheel Speed Sensor. We have replaced the "faulty" sensors several times and have also replaced all other parts that were recommended to fix the issue. We took the vehicle to a Ford dealer and they initially said that there was a recall to perform a flash of the computer to fix the issue. When they hooked up their machine to the vehicle, we were told that they were incorrect and that there was no recall for this issue and there was no update for the computer. This is an intermittent issue and we are unable to replicate the issue on demand. This has been an issue for over a year and it seems Ford does not have the answers to fix the issue.

My son was driving up a hill on January 26, 2022 and the car stalled. I called the Ford dealer and they said I had to take it in and pay for the repairs. This is a 2013 Ford Escape and I was reading on the internet that these cars have these problems. My son said there was no warning lights before this happened, it just stalled on a busy, dangerous highway. Thank God he was not hurt. I don't know what else to do. This problem should get taken care of with so many people having the same issue.

The sensor for cooling system goes off for low coolant even though there is a full amount of coolant in the vehicle. Causes a bunch of codes to activate and throws vehicle into "limp" mode while saying the vehicle needs to be turned off immediately. Only some vehicles received recall notice per automotive service center, but others do not even though there is plenty of complaints online about the same issue. Having a vehicle go into "limp" mode while driving in traffic and/or on highway is extremely dangerous.

I called Jacky Jones Ford they couldn-??t get to it referred me to get a body shop to look at it. I now find out this is a recall on my car. I didn-??t own the car at the time the recall was issued so never received anything. I-??ve owned this car since may 2017 I-??ve had issues with inside filling up with smoke and smelling of wire burning Jacky Jones looked at it but didn-??t find the issue also engine light comes on periodically then it starts showing it-??s overheating I can-??t do a system check because it don-??t light up anymore the fuse is new still don-??t work, but at the moment I can-??t drive at all because my door won-??t shut please help me with these issues please no one can figure it out and now I-??m unemployed because of a dr sorry that-??s another story Thank You

My car has stalled numerous times and have had 2 different shops look at this and this isnt the fuel pump and the drive module was replaced to try and this didnt fix no issues with this and they said there is something def wrong with this and there are numerous recalls on the same issue as with my car for these cars. Wiring harness or ecu issues is what I am being told possibly. This car is a danger. From the first time I bought this in the shop and I dont even drive this car much at all. This is a danger and Ford needs to address these cars. My car stopping in the middle of the road and I almost was rear ended.

While I was driving through my neighbor hood, I was making a left turn at an intersection and found that my vehicles power steering had stopped working. I was able to park the car and restarted it. It seemed fine while I was backing out of the space but as I was pulling forward the power steering went out again. Throughout the week the power steering would be working and then the next moment it would cut out unexpectedly.

When the car has run (the engine is warm, so not a cold start), starting it again will lead to a stall, usually within two minutes. The car can be idling or moving, and it sputters and dies. It will start again, but will often stop one more time. Re-starting is becoming more hesitant (slower) as my mechanic can find no way to repair this problem (yet). This stopping has put me in some very, very dangerous situations, such as crossing a road with traffic oncoming or merging on to a highway. The car also has stalled going up a hill.
