our transmission just quit one day without notice. at the ford dealer I took it too another escape was their a 2016 with 5600 miles on it with same prob. ford refuses to help us out because we are 159 miles over our warranty. $5300 plus labor to fix. I see though we are not the only people having problems with this. it is dangerous and needs to be recalled. we were left in the middle of traffic having yo push the car to side of road. any advice would be helpful. can't afford to fix due to car payment. sucks paying for a car you can't drive. ford really needs to fix this problem!

Automatic transmission began to slip back into neutral when accelerating off a stop. Had to put the car in park and then back in drive to keep it going.

Took it to the dealership and they are replacing the entire transmission on a car with only around 25k miles. It has been three weeks and we are still waiting on parts for this nearly new car. We bought it at around 24k miles and had this problem within the second month of driving it. It is a good thing the warranty covers this because it is unacceptable.

Brand new car with only 3,200 miles and the transmission is gone. Do we have a right for a replacement car? They won't put in a new transmission, money use rebuilt ones. I really feel Ford should replace vehicle. Thoughts from anyone?

Update from May 9, 2015: The dealer has had our Escape for a month, we have been asking for a new transmission, they tell us Ford won't allow it. They have torn down the transmission, problem is with parts that are on back order. If they dealer had fought for a new transmission for us we would have the car back by now. 30 days and counting... Frustration level is mounting!

Update from Nov 30, 2016: transmission stopped working at 2,500 miles
