I had drove my car to chick fil a. I was inside for less than 5 minutes waiting on my order. When I came back outside my car was on fire. I-??ve read articles about many other people having problems with their Ford Escaped catching fire. https://www.fordescape.org/threads/2014-ford-escape-engine-fire.88258/ If I had stayed in my car for a few more minutes I could-??ve been inside and I could be dead right now. There seems to be a issue with the 2013 and 2014 model years combusting suddenly but, I think they need to include the 2015 model.

First problem- over the course of the last few years, the car intermittently gets "jumpy" when changing to/from different gears like (from reverse to drive OR drive to reverse, all after completely braking-not in the middle of gear shift). It has not completely stalled but feels very close to it. i had brought it in in the past and they had never found anything wrong with it. It does not always happen. Second problem- the rear view back up assistance has not been working properly for over 3 years. I will be in reverse and either the beeping continues even though nothing is around or, the screen goes blank and shuts off. I was told this would be at my expense, not a recall. this does not happen all the time but is very often.

My ford has had white/blue smoke clouds coming from the exhaust for weeks. I scheduled maintenance at a ford dealership and was told a diagnostic was not even worth the money because the knew exactly what the issue is, the coolant is leaking into the engine, causing the engine to smoke and eventually will misfire, overheat and catch fire. I was told there is no repair, the engine needed to be replaced and because my warranty had expired, I must pay to replace the engine. Although, Ford is aware of their mistake and faulty parts, Ford is not accepting responsibility for the issue they caused innocent buyers. I am a single mother of an adopted kid. I bought this car 3 years ago under the impression Ford is a honest company.I am now seeing otherwise. I now am stuck with making a decision during a pandemic on paying upwards of 6 to 7,000 to replace an engine on a vehicle that has a faulty system, caused by Ford. If paying thousands of dollars on a vehicle that I can hardly afford now isn't hard to swallow, the newly purchased engine will result in the same failure because FORD HAS'NT FIX THE PROBLEM. Ford refuses to put in a new engine and Ford has not fixed an issue that has been occurring for almost 10 years, forcing Ford owners into debt and bankruptcy because where would a person like me get the money to pay for something like this again and again? I cant even afford to get into another car. I am scared to put my son in the vehicle now. I need help

Problem with 1.5L, 1.6L, 2.0L Turbocharged engine that Ford has been aware of since 2010. A Ford dealership told me this is a common defect with these engines. Coolant leaks into cylinders and ruins the engine. There is an active lawsuit on Ford as of December 2020. Ford dealership is trying to charge me 8500 dollars for an engine rebuild and will not give me a price on replacing the engine with a manufactured engine.

Driving down the highway my tires slipped and tried to kick on traction control but instead disabled my driving until I was able to get over and stop. Turn the car off for a couple seconds then restarted it back on. Did that 3 time in my way into work. I didn't know it was the traction control until I googled what happened and lot of responses said the traction control gets faulty. So now every time I drive I have to go into the settings and turn off my traction control or it continues to happen. Luckily nobody was behind me.

On the date of 04/07/21 I was driving on my way to work, had pulled out of dunkin donuts and went up a small hill to a stop sign I had the ac on, and my window rolled down as I just left a fast food restaurant and as I get to the top of the small hill, my ac turns off and my car displays a message saying transmission not in park and it completely shuts off, I put the car in park and tried restarting it and nothing I had dash lights everything but didn't start. This is the second time this has happened in a 2 week period, the first time it shut off and displayed a starting system fail message took it to dealer and cannot figure out the problem. Could this be related to a recall!

My engine failed in 2019. Coolant entered cylinder no. 2 and was blown out the tailpipe. All coolant was lost. I could not drive the car afterwards without causing severe engine damage. Engine was replaced by Ford. I have since learned that hundreds, if not thousands, of Ford ecoboost engines, e.g., 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5L, have similarly failed. Ford has replaced many engines under warranty, but in many cases the vehicles were just out of warranty and owners had to pay $8,000 to $12,000 out of their own pockets to have engines replaced. These engines exhibit a design defect that allows coolant to enter the cylinders. Ford knows about this problem and should have issued a recall or extended the powertrain warranty. The sudden loss of all engine coolant can create a dangerous situation on the highway. There are many areas on today's highways where it is impossible to safely stop. In my own case, Ford replaced my engine under the powertrain warranty, but kept my vehicle an entire month while waiting on the new engine to arrive and for installation; Ford did not hook up my battery to a charger during this time and the battery ran down, limiting its remaining useful life. I had to complain to get a loaner vehicle while my vehicle was in the shop. Shortly after the new engine was installed, there was a terrible rattling noise under the hood that was due to a faulty transmission flywheel--possibly damaged during the engine reinstallation. These ecoboost engines are a disaster. My engine failed at 36,000 miles--many fail just out of warranty. But, since you never know where you might be when an ecoboost engine fails, it's also a safety problem.
