College daughter borrowed the truck for a 200 mile trip. The Spark plug left her stranded late night in an unknown area of town.
This is the second time the number 8 spark plug has been blown out of the engine.

This engine has some miles on it but this sure is a strange occurrance. The # 8 spark plug was blown out of its socket, damaging the coil.

On my way home from Kansas to Colorado after enjoying some leave time before I deploy to Afghanistan. Got 100 miles from home heard a loud pop and then a sound like a flat tire but it wasn't. The spark plug had blown out of the head, stripped the threads and broke the coil. Had my wife 3 kids and 2 dogs, what a good time.

3 spark plug blew out damaging the coil. I have read that this is a common problem with the 5.4l triton engines. If this is so common why not recall the engine and give the people that still have some faith with fords a break. I took it to the ford garage and they gave me 3 options 1. heeley coil it, but they will not guarantee the work.
2. Buy a new head and that will cost me $3000.
3. Buy a new motor and that will cost me $6000. I don't know about everyone else but I think someone is getting screwed!

on trip from Dallas to Kentucky the engine blew #7 spark plug out while my daughter was driving, freaking her out.
The dealer also found that the number 5 spark plug was leaking and ready to blow.
Dealer inserted heil coils and replaced the #5 & 8 plugs along with the coils.
The is the third time this year that spark plugs have been blown out of the engine.
