At approximately 65 miles an hour, the outer tread separated from the carcass on the left rear tire causing the vehicle to veer out of control. The driver was fortunate to regain control of the vehicle and pull of the road and then proceeded to change the tire. The tire has been saved. (dot number: P255-70R16 tiresize: 16 inch)

Firestone ATX 235/75R15 the insured was southbound on hwy 183 approx 1.4 miles South of luling in gonzales county. She heard a loud pop and her left rear tire lost tread. Her right rear wheel then came off the vehicle and she lost control and the Ford Explorer rolled several times. A passerby pulled her from the Explorer just prior to it catching fire. The vehicle was totally consumed in the ensuing fire. Explorer lost tread on left rear tire, it rolled, then caught fire, total burnconsuming the tires.
