Pursuant to NHTSA investigation # ea 17-002 opened on 7/27/17, I am experiencing the periodic exhaust odors in my vehicle detailed in that report. All relevant recalls have been performed, which have not fixed the problem.

I attempted to slow the vehicle, preparing to stop. I was traveling between 65/70 mph. When pressing on the breaks the vehicle did not slow down. I pumped the breaks. The cars in front of me where at a stop and getting closer very quickly. I pushed as hard as I could on the break and then tried to push on the emergency break located on the floor. It only kicked back. Seconds later I had a direct impact with the vehicle in front of me. Airbag deployed! there are no skid marks on the road! the vehicle would not stop!!!

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the engine warning indicator illuminated and a fuel odor emitted through the vents. The vehicle was taken to santos Ford (617 w pacheco blvd, los banos, ca 93635, (888) 312-2705) and code: P0456 was located. The dealer stated that there was a small leak coming from the rear end and the fuel tank was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15V812000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the repaired did not correct the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Explorer. The contact noticed a fuel leak around the fuel pump above the fuel tank. The failure was repaired by an independent mechanic. The contact called several unknown dealers and was informed that the vehicle was not included in a recall.the manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 95,000.

Carbon monoxide odor has been getting worse. Every time I drive I begin to feel nauseous and get a headache. I have 2 boys, my 11 year old agrees it's a strong odor and he begins to feel dizzy. I fear to even have my children especially my 1 year old in this vehicle anymore and they were the reason I purchased it. I've had my vehicle in a certified Ford dealership twice now since I purchased a few months ago has ever mentioned this issue! this needs to be recalled and repaired! does someone need to be hospitalized or die before something is done. I finally looked online to see if this was a common issue and of course it is! please fix this, an investigation over a year now and nothing has happened. You have a reputation to uphold.

Wrench light came on as the vehicle was traveling at approx 55 mph on a city hwy & vehicle slowed dramatically & idled roughly. After turning it off & letting it sit for a minute it restarted and seemed ok. I took it to the dealer to check & they checked & said it threw a code P2111 & they isolated it to a stuck throttle body. They replace the throttle body and cleared the code.

Randomly honks with and with fob in or near car and without the car running. Check engine light comes on after getting fuel, and sometimes it does not stop the gas when pumping.... send a code for sensor in fuel compartment.... door panels crack

Throttle position. Fuel peddle doesn't always accelerate when being pushed. As I pull out the car may accelerate or may not. Sometimes it suddenly lurches. Very scary when crossing through traffic. My mechanic said it's going to be me T-boned.

Exhaust fumes when running ac still a problem after the field service action performed by the Ford dealer. Causing headaches and lightheaded after driving with ac on my commutes due to long time exposure to fumes in the cabin. Have to turn off ac and open my windows. Feel unsafe driving my vehicle cannot use ac and California temperatures in the summer over 90 degrees

2013 Ford Explorer was driving down the road at 60 mph when all of a sudden accelerator stopped working and wrench light came on. I lost all acceleration ability. Luckily I was in minimal traffic and was able to coast off to the side of the road. As I was pulling over, the vehicle sputtered a few times and I killed out the vehicle and let it sit for a minute then restarted with no trouble.

Continue to smell a bad odor from vents. Contacted Ford and wanted to bring it in but will cost money to have it checked out. It does this occassionally and lasts a few minutes. Previously have smelled a strong gas odor which made me have a severe headache for hours. Thought there going to be a recall. Have 2013 base model.

My Explorer has an issue when stopped and in drive with the ac on the car pulls/lunges foward as if I hit the gas/ also when im parked and the air con is running at some point the engine goes down below 500 rpms then kicks up to 700 to compensate then kicks down to below 500, over and over again. If rev the engine a bit, then it goes back down to normal idle and its fine for maybe 10 minutes then does it all over again. This can be a safety issue as the car pulls itself foward with no human interaction. There is multiple websites declaring this is a known issue for this car. Google 2013 Explorer rough ac idle you will see lots of people commenting on it.

This vehicle has the exhaust fume issue where the cabin fills with exhaust fumes and is difficult to drive due to the smell. You have to drive with the windows down in order to tolerate driving. The recent recall was done - vehicle taken to dealer to have the ac reprogramed and tailgate seals inspected. This did not work. We will be trading the vehicle in and purchasing another vehicle soon. This issue needs to be addressed. Ford has had too many safety and quality issues that go ignored by the manufacturer. This vehicle also has the peeling paint issue that Ford refused to address as well. Poor quality - unacceptable.

Taka ta recall I am smelling gas fumes inside of the car when I drive its especially bad when I have my heat or air conditioning on. I only smell it when the car has been in motion for a couple of minutes.

Door panels out of line. Rpms drop to 0 while sitting, carbon monoxide, front end noise, seat broke, back vents poured water in, transmission slipping blinker switch replaced, modular replaced, back up camera system replaced. Front end worked on more than 7 times.
