Consumer had cruise control set 65 mph. Went to deactivate cruise control by applying brakes, engine began to downshift. Kept the maintained speed of set cruise control. Consumer had to keep pressure on brakes for over a mile before vehicle could slow down. Had to put vehicle in neutral to disengage engine, casuing the consumer to burn out brakes. Dealer could not determine problem.
