The contact owns a 2001 Ford F-150. When the vehicle was started, it idled roughly and made a popping noise. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle rode roughly and had difficulty accelerating. While depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated and still would not accelerate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 112,000.

I had been at my neighbors house for over 1 1/2 hours. We heard a loud boom that shook the trailer we ran outside and discovered the drivers side tire blew out due to the fire. The entire hood was melting down onto the motor. There was no electrical components left under the hood by this time and the fire was spreading to the cab, but we finally put it out then the fire department came. All I know is I was at a neighbors for around 1 1/2 hours and we hear a loud boom. We ran out side and my truck hood was on fire, it burned everything visible on top of the motor and toward the driver firewall. It busted the driver side tire and completely burned everything visible under the hood. The dash components as far as the eye can see are not bad, unknown of internal damage.I'm not sure what caused the problem. I did go to the recall site to see if there may have been something I did find this control switch for speed recall and not sure if it applies to mine.even though it brought it up when I entered my VIN #. I did receive a recall on the gas tank straps but did not replace them they were in great shape. But I did not receive on on this. I do have pictures if you need them. Thanks

The contact observed flames coming from the front of the vehicle that spread to the driver's side of the vehicle without warning. The fire was extinguished by the contact and other individuals. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. We have a Ford F150 crew cab with a 5.4 Triton motor. I was putting it in reverse to drive away and there was a strange popping sound. I instantly shut it off and opened the hood. My father examined it for me and stated the number 3 spark plug had ejected itself, cracking the coil as well. We had to have a helicoil kit installed in order to have threads for the new plug. The truck still is not running properly. This has cost approximately $300 so far, and there is more work that will have to be done since it still sputters and runs rough. This is a well known problem by the Ford dealership, as I have researched it on the internet but Ford refuses to take responsibility for the poorly manufactured Triton motor. Fires can start when they pop out as well. This is a dis-service to the public who have unknowingly bought these vehicles and get stuck with huge repairs due to the design of the motor. I am disgusted that there is not a recall. Ford must be held responsible for all these repairs! there is a huge injustice happening by allowing Ford to walk away from the responsibility. A recall before deaths happen would be the responsible thing to do! lemon laws should apply to the Triton motors by Ford! if I had known this was happening we would never ever have purchased this vehicle! shame on the Ford company!!! get the recall set into motion to compensate all the people who bought these dangerous pieces of crap!

There is a problem with Ford F-150's blowing spark plugs. I have blown 2 so far and read on numerous websites of many many people having this same issue. Both times I have pulled over and disconnected the ignition coil. If I would not know how to do this the blown plug could result in an engine fire. This is a serious problem that Ford needs to fix!

The gas peddle stuck on the for F150, I see complaint and a recall about the escape, but what about the Ford? on the intranet are several complaints about the same issue with the Ford trucks. We had a major accident and out truck was destroyed due to this.

The truck was parked in my driveway for at least 24 hours without being used or turned on. The front of the truck suddenly went on fire. The fire department came and put it out. The fire burned only the front up to the windshield leaving the cab partially melted and my daughters car seat unsafe. Now this mess sits in my driveway as I wait for inspector. As it falls apart more and more each day as my family and neighbors smell the burnt rubble and are reminded of that frightening afternoon.

Woke up this morning to a couple of loud "booms". my husband went to check it out and discovered his truck (which we just purchased in may) was on fire. The fire destroyed the truck, melted the siding on our house and garage, and even cracked three of our neighbor's windows. We are so grateful the firefighters arrived when they did or this fire would've kept burning our house. The truck hadn't moved since last night...don't know what happened but we will not be purchasing a Ford again.
