2006 supercrew 4X4 F150 that began missing and shaking badly along with rich smell of gasoline this morning. Was taken into shop where it later hydrolocked and was now unable to start. Assessment by Ford technician found the engine to have a faulty injector on cylinder 6 that was stuck in the open position allowing fuel to dump directly into cylinder until full and the piston was unable to move anymore apparently resulting in some bent rods according to technician. Was advised that engine was blown and needed $9500 for replacement engine since vehicle was just out of warranty at 56,000 miles. Found out that many of the 2005 models of this vehicle had recalls on the same injectors making this type of repair covered, but my VIN does not show this recall since it a 2006 model. This bothers me because my truck was actually shown to be manufactured in Sept 2005 and possibly had the same batch of faulty injectors installed in it.

Spark plug broke inside of engine while replacing. After further investigation I found that this is a well known problem that Ford has refused to recall even though they have changed mechanical procedures for replacing plugs at the dealership. I am now stuck with a big bill because faulty manufacturing.
