Fuel pump relay fuse melted. 2010 F-150 2 wd V8, was driving and pulling a trailer (within the vehicle's parameters weight wise, I.e. not overloaded, and in fact it continued with the empty trailer) and the truck began stalling randomly, usually when going up a hill. This is very dangerous as I was hauling valuable horses up hilly roads at the time. I had it repaired at a local dealership (crain Ford, little rock, Arkansas 501-570-3737) which involved moving the fuse to a different spot. It seems to be acting up again after less than a week. I paid a lot of money to "fix" it and it needs to stay fixed!

The contact coasted into a parking lot, waited a minute, restarted the vehicle, and resumed driving. In addition, the vehicle stalled without warning while driving 30 mph. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 197,664.

The door ajar light stays on. After closing all doors repeadtly, the driver side door light says its still ajar. The dangerous part is that the cab lights stay on the whole time while driving at night. Also, when done driving and after locking the truck, the lights still stay on running down the battery.

In addition, the windshield wipers and wiper fluid sprayer erroneously activated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the smart junction box was faulty and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact stated that the instrument cluster failure caused the air conditioner to fail. When the instrument cluster resumed operation, the air conditioner began working again. The contact also stated that the vehicle was difficult to start on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000. The truck has had this issue since I've purchased the truck but can never duplicate the issue while at the dealership. The 1st time the engine would crank but would not fire. The second time, I was driving and the truck just stopped. I was lucky enough some passing by motorist helped to push it out of the intersection. 3rd time, the truck was parked and did not start. After troubleshooting the issue, the fuel pump relay fuse burned out. Normally fuses just pop, this one just burned out to where I could not take out the fuse. Took the truck to was bought at and after a few hours, the problem was located. The shop foreman stated that they have had alot of trucks go in with the same issue. Only reason I making a complaint is due to that comment. It is a safety issue when I was driving and truck shuts off in the middle of the intersection. What if my sons were with me? hope this gets resolved and a recalled is made before something worse happens to someone else. Thank you.

"ignition cylinder fell out while driving. While driving my vehicle the ignition cylinder (including my keys) fell out of the steering column. The vehicle kept running, power steering and brakes were still functioning and steering wheel was able to be turned. I pulled over to the side of the road and found the ignition cylinder containing my keys on the floor mat of my vehicle. I was able to drive the vehicle home - however I was not able to turn off the engine with the key after I arrived home. I pulled the negative battery cable to kill the engine. I called dorian Ford and was told this is a common failure and for $375 this could be fixed (per roxanne, service advisor @ dorian Ford). I found this incredible that a service advisor would indicate this is a common failure. This was quite scary for the first few moments when I heard the cylinder fall out and then hit my leg on its way to the floor. My first thought was this is the same scenario that occurred on GM vehicles with the ignition cylinder.

I own a 2010 Ford F-150 FX4 pickup, purchased new October 2009. Approximately in 2013 the rear window defroster stopped working. The truck is equipped with a power rear sliding window from Ford. I took the truck to my local Ford dealer to address the issue. The Ford dealer service department advised me the problem was with the window itself, and would not be covered under warranty, or Ford at all. I have noticed many complaints on the web from owners of Ford pickups of the same year and model, the majority of them experiencing broken rear windows, smoke and damage. Like many, I have a small child that sits in a rear facing child's car seat, and am very concerned about this problem. It is very apparent Ford is aware of this safety issue, but is not willing to admit to it, or take steps to address it. This issue is a ticking time bomb for Ford pickup owners, always worrying if it will happen to them, and when.

Truck stalls coming to a stop at red lights/stop signs. Also stalls while simply driving down a street or highway/interstate. After shutting down recently (while driving on the interstate), the truck was towed. I was traveling at 65mph on interstate at the time and was able to drift into emergency lane. After several tests, learned there was a problem in the fuse box. The fuse to the fuel pump was melted in the fuse box. Was told the fuel pump on these years pulls more than required amps and is overheating the fuse and melting it. Was told the fuse box would need to be replaced and Ford has a 4 to 6 week back order on these. Because of so many issues. Not fair for consumers to pay for this engineering mistake.

I turned on my defrost on my rear truck window, let the truck warm up as it was -5, started to drive down the street, doing 50 km, heard a loud "pop" and the back sliding window shattered on the driver's side. Luckily it stayed intact as I was on my way to work. I stopped at Ford to see what they could do, as I researched the problem and hundreds of people have experienced this same issue with the Ford trucks. The service manager at Ford said he coulnd't do anything for me as I no longer had warranty. He wanted to charge me $1200 for a new window. I called Ford Motor Co. And they also said they couldn't do anything about it (even tho it is a common problem). I had the window fixed by an independent company for half the price Ford would have charged. I believe this should be a recall, as it is certainly a safety hazard. There are several complaints about this issue on the NHTSA site.

Fuel pump relay fuse (#27) will either blow or melt in fuse box. Replacing fuse will only fix problem temporarily, as melted area in fuse box will cause new fuse to not make consistent contact, leading to vehicle not starting when hot, or even engine cutting off while driving, causing really bad safety issue. Very difficult problem to fix, as dealers either give you the run around or want to replace entire fuse box and engine wiring harness which costs about $2000, parts and labor. 'solution' is to find wire to relay in fuse box, very difficult, and splice in an inline fuse. Have had mechanic and towing fees over $1000 so far, and still only have a bypass fuse installed. Local dealer was aware of the issue, as they see this problem all of the time, was told to call Ford, which had never heard of the problem. Another Ford owner next door has the exact same problem.

Wiring harness on 2010 Ford F-150 4X4 burns up at fuse box. Original harness was replaced by dealer in 2013. Second harness burnt up at fuse box after 16 months. Waiting for new harness at present time. It is the fuel pump connection that is burning up in the box by the fuse. When the harness burns through, the vehicle automatically stops, even while in motion. This constitutes a safety hazard as no notice occurs before burn up. No warning lights appear on dash to warn of this. Nothing has been done to correct the failure, other than replacing the wire harness that is burning up. They have done nothing to correct the reason for the burn up. All that has been done is replacement of the part that is damaged.. have been waiting for over a month for parts. Other vehicles at the dealership are also experiencing this same issue.
