About April 2017 I noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine area of my truck. I also noticed hesitation when I accelerate and my fuel economy has dropped. There is a distinct jerking sensation when driving. My concern is that the vehicle does not want to accelerate in certain gears and I feel this is a safety concern. My truck has the Ford 5.4L V8 engine and upon my own research, this engine is notorious for the cam phaser going bad, along with other related issues.

I was always a Chevy guy, bought this truck and it is a big pile of [xxx] !!!!! recall it, read the forums, all who own these are sick of the god[xxx] problems !!!!! never again. Stand up to your product. Do something about it. Your engineers are pathetic. Exhaust manifold warping. 2010 Ford F150 FX4 5.4L. Right side manifold warped at 95,000 miles and left side manifold warped at 135,000 miles. Right side replaced for $1,500. Have not done the left side yet. Too expensive. This is a known defect with this model. Should be warranty work.

When applying sync update caused several failure codes to transmission module and transmission servo. Sync module no longer works after applying software update and must be replaced. All transmission and engine codes were cleared. I believe the sync module update caused failure codes and destroyed sync module. Ford dealership cannot explain

My vehicle stop without warning. Had a $800 dollar tune-up. It has stopped several times since tune-up.I took it to two dealers they said they could not find any codes indicating their was a problem. It cuts off as I come to a stop or when I slow down to make a turn at slow speeds on city streets.

Had just completed an oil change in novato, ca at the oil changers. When driving home on the freeway at approximately 65mph the engine lost all power. (stepping on the accelerator had no response and the check engine light came on) I coasted the vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway and came to a complete stop, turning off the engine. Checked the oil plug was still in the oil drain pan and everything looked ok. The vehicle started back up without issue and has been running fine since.

While slowing to approximatly 20 mph to make a left turn at a stop light the engine died and all braking and power steering was lost. While still partially bloking the intersection I placed the transsmision in park and restarted the engine. No engine fault codes were displayed. I drove to the local dealer immediately after the incident. Dealer stated that if no fault light was present they could not determine the cause. So far this has only happened one time.
