F-150

  • 18,110 miles
My wife was driving our 2010 Ford F-150. Gas tank 5/8 full. She was making a right turn onto a major state route when the vehicle suddenly stalled. She was able to re-start the vehicle, however when the engine stalled she lost all power steering and brakes. This caused the vehicle to veer into the oncoming lane of traffic. This is the second occurrence. The dealer had the vehicle for 18 days after the first occurrence, however they were unable to diagnose or fix the problem. We took possession of the vehicle again and it almost occurred once and then actually stalled a second time (described above). I have filed a previous complaint. The vehicle was again brought to the dealer and they were unable to fix the problem. Ford Motor Company did order the replacement of the vapor management system between the two occurrences. The part was returned to Ford by the dealer. I can not place my wife, children or I, not to mention the motoring public in further danger by driving this vehicle. We could have easily had a dangerous traffic crash when the vehicle suddenly ended up in oncoming traffic. Thank you.

F-150 4WD 8-cyl

  • 5,800 miles
On August 2010 driving my brand new F150 with 5,800 miles with my children about 25 mph around corner truck just shut off. Could hardly steer and brakes where very difficult to use. Had to coast into a safe area almost hitting another vehicle. Stopped, put in park, it started then went directly home. Called Ford they asked if any lights came on, which they did not. Had vehicle towed to dealership. No codes came up on their computer. The kept the truck for 7 days. They hooked up a vdr system in the truck. They said next time this happened I needed to press a button. Get this, next time this happened while trying to steer and brake and not get in an accident press this button. The vdr would record every thing that was going on with the truck when it stalls again. Three weeks later Ford calls asks what going on. It has not happened again. They will call Ford and see what to do. They will probably want the vdr system back. There is nothing else they can do. They said they have not received any other complaints about this occurring on 2010 F150S. I told them there are many on the internet. I told my husband I do not want to drive this truck anymore. Its like playing russian roulette, with our lives. Now winters coming this should be real interesting. I wonder if within a year or so after someone gets seriously hurt or killed that Ford will do something about this.

F-150

2010 Ford F 150 off road caught on fire and burnt very quickly. The fire started under the pickup under the drivers door and towards the back. I am not sure why it started, I have only had it for 5 weeks. We called the fire department quickly but since I live on a farm it took the fire dept about 25 mins to get out to the vehicle and by than the vehicle was completely totaled. I never saw any warning signs before the fire.
