Transmission has been ongoing problem since 7/2012. When driving away from certain situations, transmission will slam into 2nd gear. Local dealer has replaced shims in rear suspension, new driveshaft, major and minor transmission parts, reprogrammed computer, etc., all to no avail. Parting words from the dealer were always "give the computer 500 miles to settle in and all will be good" never happened, transmission still slams into second and pushing 140,000 miles now. Have even written letters to Ford Motor Company about this. Took truck into dealer per their recommend and not fixed. Feel I will need to drive the truck into the ground as can't think anybody would want to buy it like this. Would also think twice about buying another Ford truck.

The 10-speed 10R80 automatic transmission that is located in many F150's is defective as it can shift harshly and erratically at very high speeds, causing vehicle control loss and causing accidents. The vehicle will often jerk, lunge, and cause loss of control as sometimes it will stop engaging. Ford dealers are hesitant to repair the part and negligent when it comes to the safety of the drivers. Often not blaming it to the faulty transmission but other 'non related faults' that have occurred in the transmission, hence not providing free repair.
