Truck started to not shift correctly, check transmission icon came on, luckily was coasting down a hill at about 45 mph. Checked the trans temp, indicated 205 F. noticed smoke coming from behind the truck. Pulled over, found transmission fluid pouring from it. 2011 F-150xlt 6700 miles, not happy with this incident. After reading several posts, Ford should recall this truck.

When I started up my F-150 super crew cab with the ecoboost engine the service advanced track warning message came on. As I was driving with this error message on the dash I found that my turn signals would not stay on unless I hold the turn signal lever. Later that day I went to take the truck into the dealer to show them the issue and the error message was gone and the turn signals were now functioning fine. Since the error was no longer on the Ford dealer could not do anything about the issue. The error stayed off for about 6 weeks and then came on again. Now it has been coming on about every 3 or 4 days so I took it to the dealer and they determined that the issue is with the rack and pinion steering assembly and have replaced that. I just go the truck back and have not had time to confirm that the issue is fixed however my confidence level is not there as this is just one of many issues that I have seen on this truck that appear to be "computer" related since shutting off the truck (or as I put it rebooting) will correct the issue.

Vehicle has Ford's selectshift transmission - when it is put in "M" mode and then gear 1 is selected, it will behave normally up to about 3000 RPM. Above 3000 RPM, it will not slow down if the driver's foot is removed from the accelerator. If the slope of the road changes, it will continue to accelerate as though it was still going uphill, increasing speed without any driver input. It will return to normal behavior immediately as soon as the brake pedal is pressed, and the problem seems to only occur when the transmission is locked into 1st gear and in the M position (not D).

F150 ecoboost while going down a slight grade at about 50 mph in drive the transmission suddenly shifted down a couple of gears thereby causing the engine to rev up to over 3,500 RPM. After several seconds the transmission shifted back up one step at a time to the 6th gear. This has happened at least twice on different occasions. Another anomaly has occurred several times. While slowing down slightly the transmission suddenly 'clunks' and it feels like something has run into the back of the truck. It's like a hard shift into a higher gear, however the transmission appears to be 6th and the speed is around 60 mph..

Upon acceleration my truck shifted roughly sputtered and shut down, then the wrench showed up and I had to drift to side of road. This has happened 3 times. They have done a computer update 1st time, no luck, replaced a loose pin, no luck, replaced computer, no luck, replaced crank shaft sensor, no luck. This is a serious safety event. Two times my truck stalled and shut off while merging onto an extremely busy highway. I have children that ride in my truck and I do not feel safe. I have opened a case with Ford but all they want to do is keep fixing it. 44,000 truck, transmission stinks and I want a refund. Someone is going to be seriously hurt or die due to this problem.

Vehicle "shudders" or "bucks" slightly under light acceleration from 55 mph on up. For a $45,000 vehicle and no fix yet this is totally unacceptable.

Transmission slams between gears and also does it while coming to a rolling stop. At times if feels like if you got hit from behind causing you to slam your head and body on the seat. It will do it at slow speeds and high speeds, but more noticeable while driving in and out of traffic slower speeds. At times it also feels like there is slippage when shifting gears.

Multiple incidents of hesitation in first and second gear shifts causing stalling in the middle of intersections. No accidents occurred. I was told by Ford " there is a factory defect in the manufacture of the torque converter seal."

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated the vehicle began to vibrate while driving 35 mph. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated the driveshaft was not angled properly. The contact was concerned since the failure was a safety issue. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 1,647 and the current mileage was 2,000.
