Upon acceleration my truck shifted roughly sputtered and shut down, then the wrench showed up and I had to drift to side of road. This has happened 3 times. They have done a computer update 1st time, no luck, replaced a loose pin, no luck, replaced computer, no luck, replaced crank shaft sensor, no luck. This is a serious safety event. Two times my truck stalled and shut off while merging onto an extremely busy highway. I have children that ride in my truck and I do not feel safe. I have opened a case with Ford but all they want to do is keep fixing it. 44,000 truck, transmission stinks and I want a refund. Someone is going to be seriously hurt or die due to this problem.

New 2011 ecoboost V-6 F150 super-crew auto 6 speed transmission with the engine in manual shift 1st gear cold engine the accelerator sticks at what ever RPM's you are running and will start going faster without foot on pedal I have had to date 10 run aways and Ford won't or can't fix it. The only way to stop it is to slam on the brakes and turn key off.....if your in traffic it could cause a serious accident. It also may cause serious damage to transmission and engine...

My complaint is that Ford has a governor on the engine that only allows the vehicle to reach approximately 89 mph. Yet the speedometer indicates 120 mph and no indications in the owners manual that the engine has a governor and top speed is 89 mph. I believe Ford is making a misrepresentation and false advertising to the public. Ford has stated to me the reason for this is to not exceed tire rating speed. However my truck came with 113 mph speed rated tires. Ford also admits that there is no indication or mention of the governed speed. I don't have a need to go beyond the posted speed limit or want to go 120mph. That being said, I was driving on interstate 81 posted speed 70 I was doing about 73-75 mph in the right lane, along side of me in the left lane was a Dodge truck with a trailer doing approximately 75-80 mph and a tractor trailer behind him on his bumper. The tractor trailer abruptly pulled behind me and slightly ahead another tractor trailer started to pull from the shoulder of the road onto the highway. My choices - slam on the brakes and hope a loaded tractor trailer 4' off my bumper can also stop, accelerate and pull in front of the Dodge truck. I chose the latter and just imagine my surprise just as I cleared the Dodge and started to pull into the lane in front of the Dodge my truck engine stalled at 89 mph. I don't know what else I could have done in this situation, but not knowing that Ford had the engine governed almost caused an accident. Probability of this same thing happening again, I don't know. But the point of this is that Ford should be required to recall all these vehicles and remove the governor or change the speedometer to reflect the top speed as 89mph. Not let the consumer believe they are buying a vehicle that will do 120mph but conceal the fact that it will do only 89mph. After all it's not Ford's place to enforce speed limits.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked for approximately 40 minutes when the horn sounded and the contact noticed flames coming from under the hood near the engine. The entire vehicle became engulfed in flames. There were no injuries associated with the fire. The police and the fire department were at the aid of the contact. The fire and police both advised him that they were unable to determine what caused the fire. The manufacturer was later contacted and offered no assistance. The failure and the current mileages were approximately 7,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall sporadically while attempting to accelerate. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test but the dealer was unable to generate any failure codes from the diagnostic machine. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 7,200.

Trying to accelerate onto the highway the engine misfired, started with excessive vibration and started decelerating. The engine would not recover and had to coast to shoulder and turn off engine. During deceleration, tried to add throttle several times through all speed ranges, but vibration was excessive and no acceleration was achieved.

From a dead stop I accelerated to turn into her driveway the engine hesitated and stumbled it sounded like you had thrown a handful of marbles inside the intake the engine made a funny noise then died after getting it restarted the check engine light came on upon returning the vehicle to the dealership I found out it had melted the intake manifold sensors and part of the throttle body away Ford has no idea what caused this the truck is also been plagued with electrical problems. Apparently it came real close to an engine fire the truck is still broke down at the dealership since August 5, 2011.
