While driving (at any speed and from any gear) truck frequently, unpredictably exhibits following behavior: - speedometer need drops to zero regardless of actual speed. - truck loses proper shifting functionality. Event has occurred a dozen times or so since 12 December 2020, usually at speeds and gearing above third. Typical result is truck will not downshift below third gear, but on one occasion event occurred at a stop light, and gearing above first would not engage - odometer, trip meter, gas mileage and other digital information displays null out to dashes instead of showing numbers - a wrench symbol appears on right side of the digital display. Symbol sometimes remains for the duration of the event, and sometimes goes away. - sometimes the check engine light appears, sometimes not - airbag light illuminates if I turn the truck off, remove the key, and then re-start, the truck temporarily returns to normal function, with no indication event occurred (check engine light not on, etc). Truck operates normally until it happens again, often within minutes (or even moments) of the reset, but sometimes not again for the duration of a 20 or 25 minute trip. Truck is not safe to operate in this condition and I have now stopped driving it. I have been stuck at a red light on a grade with a load in the bed and traffic behind me, unable to move when the light changes, because first and second gear will not engage, and third gear lacks torque to get moving. Once, after accelerating from a stop, the event occurred and the truck was stuck in first gear, causing unsafe traffic condition (for me and others) while I attempted to pull over safely through traffic. In addition to photos submitted herewith, I have video clips showing occurrence at highway and at surface street speeds. Contact me if you want them.

Can happen at anytime. As a result I first replaced fuel pump driver module, master relay to fuel pump also fuel pump before I resolved issue. Because it's a intermittent problem

There have been recalls on F150S from 2009 through 2018 with similar problems. My specific VIN number has not been found but I have read similar articles with other customers having the same problem. Living in upstate South Carolina. This is the first occurrence. Vehicle with about 140,000 miles

While accelerating onto a highway, the vehicle completely lost power and the engine stopped and could not be restarted. Had to coast to a safe spot to pull of the road. After investigating the problem, I discovered that the fuse for the fuel pump had blown and melted the fuse block where the fuse is inserted. This is a known problem at Ford for this vehicle and they have issued a technical service bulletin for their dealerships to move the fuel pump fuse to a different block within the fuse panel and install a fuse block that will handle the required amperage. This is a problem that should definitely be a recall by Ford because of the nature of the failure. Losing complete power, including power steering and braking capability is a safety issue and should be urgently addressed by Ford. The NHTSA should force Ford to recall these vehicles and fix this issue before more people get killed.

My 2012 F150 with 82K, miles on it 08/08/2019 got in my vehicle starter vehicle it made a strange noise from engine compartment proceeded to back out of driveway and had no power steering. What scares me is what if I had been on the freeway at 50 miles an hour or better and the power steering went out" also my door lock on driver side would not work paid $400 to have it fixed now the passenger side has failed. My question is what if I could not get out if my trucks power steering went out while driving and crashed I couldn't get out. I feel this is not a coincident, I feel this is factory defective parts! there's too many of the same reported incidents, does someone have to die before we get a fix? my next step is social media and a 20 20 investigation into why no one has made an attempt to save human lives as opposed to bribery and fat bank accounts. I believe it is a power steering modular/factory defect. Also I don't know what is making the door locks fail except for factory defective equipment, I'm not a mechanic just a hard working american citizen, made in America used to mean something! I've made copies of this report for future use. For future correspondence; [xxx] to whomever receives this report I hope doesn't put it in the dead file. The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. While driving at an unknown speed and making a left turn, the contact heard a loud noise for about a week. There was an intermittent internal electrical failure and the steering wheel seized. Eckenrod Ford Lincoln (5255 al-157, cullman, al 35058, (800) 944-1389) indicated that the vehicle would need to be diagnosed to determine the cause of the failure. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and informed the dealer that two sensors and the steering column needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the failures were a known issue. The vehicle was to be repaired by the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.
