I've had problems since the first month of purchase, first time it stalled pulling out of a stop sign with my kids in the truck, scared us to death. Second time, my wife and I were on the interstate going on vacation driving at night in a steady rain, truck begin to shudder and stalled out, had to pull over about 5 times during a 5 hour trip and sit until it would crank and run again. When I returned I took into Ford, they couldn't find any problems, truck kept doing the same in a rain so I took back to dealer and after the third or fourth time they said there is a defect and Ford has a new part coming out in October of 2012, ended up getting the part installed in December 2012. Truck is doing the same thing, just stalled on me in branson, Missouri, I called dealer and corporate Ford and get nowhere. I have a complaint file number with Ford corporate on this problem but no will help me or offer me a new truck without ecoboost. Very frustrating to buy a brand new $57K truck and find out it does not run well in the rain and Ford new of this problem when they sold it to me in April 2012. Now I find out there is a class action suit started in Louisiana and Ohio for the eco boost trucks. Dont really want to go this route but Ford and autonation-cook whitehead Ford dealer has given me no choice. We need to all publicly let our dealers know by being on the news or other means so Ford will stop selling these vehicles. Its not right to treat us this way.

Ecoboost engine has a terrible miss at idle and blows black smoke at start up. Fuel mileage is also bad due to rich fuel conditions. Ford has replaced many parts including injectors and plugs that were carboned up. Now Ford refuses to do anything else until a new calibration program is released mid August 2013. The truck has spent a total of 6 weeks in the shop and is only 10 months old. Bottom line...Ford refuses to honor the warranty. They cant fix it and they wont buy it back.

I was getting on the freeway on Saturday evening around 7:30pm and tried to accelerate my 2012 F-150 ecoboost to merge and the engine lost all power. It was vibrating so bad and the check engine light was flashing and not to mention I almost got hit by another pickup truck because I had lost all power. I paid alot of money for this truck and I am scared to drive it. I pulled of to the side of the road and shut it down for about 3-4 min and started it back up and it was fine. I am scared to drive it because of this issue and my wife was terrified and said she will not get back in it.

On July 6, 2013, I was driving in rainy weather on the highway and occasionally noticed a miss/shudder of the engine during the drive. This is a problem that I had experienced before and had addressed, under warranty with my Ford dealer. I had slowed to 30mph due to heavy traffic and the need to merge onto another highway when I experienced a very severe and frightening issue with my F150. I was merging in heavy traffic on an on-ramp and needed to accelerate hard. When I stepped on the accelerator, the engine revved but had no power. The truck shook so badly that I could barely control it at 30 mph. I let off the gas and tried again with the same result. By now, I had to steer to the shoulder to avoid a collision with oncoming traffic. On the fourth or fifth attempt, the engine finally came to life and accelerated with enough power to get me onto the highway. This is a chronic problem with the 3.5L ecoboost equipped F150S. Although Ford has issued tsbs to correct the problem, several "fixes" have been attempted on my truck and none have solved the problem. These vehicles need to be recalled or bought back and replaced with safer, non-defective vehicles.

While driving on interstate I attempted to pass a slower vehicle. After moving over and accelerating - the truck buckled and stalled! I was almost rear ended by an 18 wheeler at 65 mph! this was very close to being a serious accident involving multiple vehicles. Please investigate and resolve this issue as Ford doesn't seem to be concerned about it. Not to mention I took it in for Ford to repair the problem and they refused to make the repairs as the vehicle did not show a trouble code. I looked online and there is a tsb on this vehicle by Ford for the repair but Ford won't make the repair. Not to mention since then the fuel mileage has dropped drastically since the event. This has happened three times now. I am very worried about an accident with this issue, not to mention it going out of warranty and I should not have to foot the bill. This is a design flaw and there are lawsuits all over the internet for this same reason. This is our family vehicle and it losing power is a huge safety issue due to tractor trailers not being able to slow down in time when this happens on the interstate. When the vehicle lost power it drops the vehicle speed to 40 mph. Not a safe speed for contested interstates. I bought this vehicle in April and spent 40,000 dollars on a truck that's very unsafe but not even dependable. This vehicle has a 3.5L ecoboost engine with an automatic transmission and it also shudders at various speeds with a hard clunking sound during gear changes. Thank you.

Attempting to pass on interstate, vehicle bogged down until I took my foot off accelerator, at this time my speed had declined from 65 mph to 50 mph. During the past 2 weeks this has occurred other times. This has never occurred since I have owned this vehicle but I am concerned. Once thing that I noticed that this has happened on rainy days. I was called by a friend that bought a similar vehicle make model equipment and motor and mentioned that he was aware of a problem made aware to him by a friend that works as a Ford service manager. I have scheduled an appointment with my local Ford dealer. They seemed indifferent as to this being a potential problem. I am submitting this complaint because if this is a common problem that is actually happening, Ford needs to step up and make this known to other owners to prevent something bad happening involving lives.

While under acceleration in traffic, the vehicle lost power, explosion, fire, lost oil pressure, almost got into accident dealership diagnosed it as intercooler collected condensation that got sucked into engine intake causing the engine to explode a hole in the engine block. Intercooler still had over a sip of water in it.

June 5, driving from fort collins, co, to billing, mt, going up a hill towing a travel trailer, loss of power, misfiring of engine, check engine light came on. Not raining. June 7, mileage at 22548, Ford fix: Install new deflector, new intercooler and update PCM. June 11, driving from yellow stone river in mt to steamboat lake co, going up a hill, minor misfiring of engine, check engine light came on, went off the next day. Not raining. June 15, from Colorado spring, co to albuquerque, nm, after getting gas, started to get back on the highway (after ~5 hours of driving), turbo kick on, massive loss of power (no acceleration at all), heavy shaking of truck, engine light came on. Took over a mile to get back up to highway speed (55 mph). Gas mileage reduced by 20%. not raining. 6/27, mileage 24563, dealer replaced all spark plugs, plugs blackened on porcelain. Truck is still misfiring at random. Gas mileage reduced. 7/1/2013, return to dealer, random misfiring. Dealer performed no fixes or updates. 7/18, return to dealer for inspection by Ford field engineer. Have an appointment 7/23 to replace catalytic converter (per field engineer) which may be plugged. I believe that permanent damage has been done to the engine. Have copies of all repair orders.

While traveling from Kentucky to Alabama in driving rain my entire trip, truck begins to misfire and lose power in Alabama for the first time since I purchased it new. After letting up on accelerator, truck engine stopped missing, but under strain and on hills it again began to miss fire and engine light began flashing again. Because of power loss and engine bucking, I found a Ford dealership immediately for repairs. They replaced the intercooler and reprogrammed the computer in the truck. The truck did stop misfiring, but seemed to drive a little different. It felt like the engine was turned down and still seemed to miss some during the rest of my wet trip to Florida. Truck seems to drive great in the city under dry or wet conditions now. * it appears the issue is only with extended travel in very wet conditions.

I switched lanes to pass a truck and there was another vehicle in the lane so I stepped on the throttle to the floor and it hesitated then started to die. Then the truck started to shake along with the steering wheel. The check engine light came on and it continued to sputter and shake for a mile or so then it started to come out of the problem. The check engine light is still lit and my aftermarket stereo can pull the check engine codes and they were P0300 P0304 P0306 P0306. It was about 75 outside and the road was dry. This is the 4th time this has happened. The truck now has 26,300 miles on it.

On vacation to ga from md in July of 2012, during a heavy downpour and lost power several times traveling on I-95 towing a boat. Driving about 65-70 mph stopped at the Ford dealer on rt. 1 in fredericksburg va and they did a temporary fix, a piece of cardboard was installed to prevent the moisture from causing problemsonly to be told to go back to our dealer for the part once it comes in all back ordered. We have since contacted sheehy and got nowhere never got a call either that the part was in. Truck gets the worst gas mileage and over the rain we had started to stall out again. Never called and never fixed.now with the rain again and the heat it is doing it again.....

To atlanta, ga in the rain, truck displayed the shuddering stall caused by condensation in the charged air cooler which gets ingested into engine causing motor to go into limp mode, truck has had two of the three tsb's performed as this is the seventh incident of the same problem since new. When truck goes into limp mode at highway speeds you are immediately at risk from rear end collision.

Since I purchased my truck there has been seven different occasions where I have accelerated to enter an interstate or pass a vehicle and the engine lost power and I could not accelerate. I have taken the truck in and they have replaced parts and said it was repaired. This past weekend I was entering the interstate in a construction area where barriers were on both sides of the interstate. I accelerated to enter the interstate and there were cars and a semi approaching where I entered. I accelerated to get up to speed with traffic and the truck stalled and would not take fuel. The approaching semi could not stop in time and had to swerve to miss me. He missed hitting me by inches and almost hit another car. With the barriers in place I could not get off the interstate when the truck stalled. I have the eco-boost engine and the vehicle is currently at the dealer. They are telling me they can not find anything that is causing the failure. This failure could have caused multiple injuries or deaths had the semi not been able to avoid hitting me or the other cars. I personally feel this is a safety issue with this engine.

Myself and my wife was traveling on a short four lane road when I attempted to accelerate to pass a slower vehicle. My F150 engine shuddered, I let off the accelerator, the shudder stopped. I then tried to accelerate again and nothing. It was like I was coasting, I had no power from the engine to accelerate. I continued to try and accelerate but nothing. This lasted for 15-20 seconds then it started to accelerate normally. This same type of lost of power has happened 3 times since then. The first two times it was raining heavily, the last two it was not. I have read about the issues documented with the F150 eco boost engine and I am sure this is that problem. Unfortunately I read it after I bought the truck!!

I had the tsb (for known surging issue) performed on my truck (2012 super crew 4X4) in may at 25K miles. Everything seemed better, until... this past Saturday, I left the house at 5am for a 7.5 hour/ 350 mile drive from home. It was raining continuously for the first two hours. Sometimes hard rain, but it didn't stop for the first 2 hours. I was driving back country roads with mostly 55 mph limits and rolling hills. Given the weather, type of roads, time of day, etc. I drove gently for the trip, never put my foot in it. Then, when going up a steeper hill that required more throttle than the others to keep my speed up, the truck started hesitating. A lot. More than it ever had before the tsb. And then, just after the hesitation began, something extra occurred that had never happened to it before. The truck started to shudder. This shuddering was akin to driving over road shoulder rumble strips on steroids. As soon as I let off the gas, the shuddering stopped. I gently pushed the pedal, shuddering was back and just as bad. Let off again. It stopped. Pushed the pedal again. It came back. Pushed the throttle once more, and it had stopped. I slowly pushed further on the throttle and it didn't do it any longer. By this time I was down to about 35-40 mph going up the hill. So I pushed down the pedal almost to the floor. The truck kicked down and accelerated with only slight moments of hesitation. Not once did the check engine light come on.. thus, I had a textbook case of exactly what the tsb was supposed to solve, but didn't.
