Gears flash on and off, then the accelerator slows down. Goes into nuetral automatically. Randomly shifts between gears causing truck to pick up speed or drastically lose speed without warning. Shifts very hard as well. This has happened while I was driving in our neighborhood as well as on the highway. Seems to happen everytime I drive above 65mph, but occasionally in the neighborhood. The random shifting of gears happened first around 4 years ago, but has been a safety risk for the last 5-6 months due to the increase in it happening.

This problem happens at all speeds but most recently while on the highway doing 70 mph my truck went into first gear and locked up my truck rear end. I slid onto the berm of the road and almost down a hill. The dreaded wrench light came on, the speedometer went inoperable, the airbag light came on and the truck went into sort of a limp mode and drove real weird. The code was a P0720 output shaft speed sensor. Of course my VIN was not included in the recall even though it is a 2012, built in dearborn with the same transmission as the recalled ones, go figure! I have an appointment with sharpnack Ford in willard Ohio the day after tomorrow with the truck where I will pay $1000 to get the lead body in the transmission replaced. This is totally ridiculous that all VIN's for 2012 are not covered. I own three Ford and I am starting to wonder why!

When I start the truck I have to let it idle and warm up for about five minutes. If I do not let the truck warm-up and I put it in gear the brake pedal is very firm and the truck will not stop. The brake pedal pulses like the ABS system is kicking on but the truck will not stop. Recently, the truck will not stop if cruise control is turned on. If cruise control is on and I push the brake pedal the brake pedal is very firm and cruise control will not turn off and the truck will not slow down. I have to manually turn off cruise control from the steering wheel and then the brakes will work again. I was driving down interstate 44 in Oklahoma when I tried to hit the brakes and the truck did not stop. Before I left on the road trip I let the truck warm-up so that the brakes would work when I first left the driveway.

2012 Ford F150 - transmission lead frame the Ford dealership (bolton in lake charles, la) is replacing the transmission lead frame in my truck. The vehicle, driving linearly at 35 mph, locked into 3rd gear and went into safe operating mode with almost no acceleration. The speedometer stopped working and a wrench light fault code appeared on the screen. The vehicle would not go into first or second gear or regain acceleration, even when stationary, park, or after restarting. The vehicle is an early 2012 production pickup from the dearborn, Michigan plant, matching the recall criteria for NHTSA (16V-248) and Ford (16S19) but the VIN does not appear in reference to the recall for the transmission lead frame. The dealer refused to honor any warranty for this recalled defective part. The vehicle is dealer stock / unmodified and presently has 71,000 miles.

While driving at highway speed, truck losses power and goes into limp mode. Wrench icon comes on, as well as airbag light, and speedometer stops working. It appears to be stuck in whatever gear it is in at the time. Also, when starting out, truck gets stuck in 1st gear, and tries to accelerate even when not pressing gas pedal. I never had an issue until I took it in for a recall on the transmission.

There have been multiple instances while driving in which the truck seems to lose power and shifts to a lower gear. The speedometer and odometer do not display when this happens. On some occasions the wrench has shown. One one occasion while accelerating to enter a highway the gear shifted down and the tires squealed and the truck dramatically slowed down. Some occasions when this has happened the shifting between gears is extremely rough. These occasions have happened while in motion, on city streets, on highways, and entering or exiting highways.

I previously submitted a complaint, but happened to notice that I had a typo on my VIN. I have had multiple experiences with the issue outlined in Ford recall 16S19. NHTSA case 16V248. I have had the transmission shift gears unexpectedly at low speed while accelerating from a stop. More recently, I have had it down shift at higher speeds(approx 50-70mph). When cruise control is on, it cancels it out automatically. I have had on time when the mil wrench appeared briefly and all numbers on the center screen went to dashes until a restart of the engine. I have spoke to dealers and Ford customer service, and looked on the NHTSA site and all have told me that my VIN is not included in the recall. The recall states the affected dates are February 11,2011 to September 8, 2012 at the dearborn plant. My truck was built on August 2, 2012 at dearborn. I have yet to receive an answer from anyone as to why my truck is not included when it meets the deadline by over a month.

My vehicle is experiencing all of the issues as stated in safety recall 16S19 (unintended downshift resulting in locking up of rear tires as well as intermittent limp mode and tachometer spikes and drops while driving on a city street). I took it to a Ford dealer and they indicated that my vehicle was outside of the 'build date' by a total of 9 days and they refused to address the issue per the safety recall.

While driving under normal conditions transmission will suddenly and randomly lock in 3rd or 5th gear and will not down or up shift. Difficult to get moving from a complete stop from 5th gear. Speedo does not work when this event occurs sometimes able to stop, place transmission in park and restart to reset the system for a short period. This does not always work though. Wrench icon illuminates on the info center, speedo and trip meters show blank lines as well. I have pics and a video clip but unable to share at the moment.

The truck will automatically downshift by itself while driving. It is experiencing the exact same issue that is a part of recall 16V248000 but our specific VIN isn't a part of it at this time. It is not safe to drive as at any speed above 45 it downshifts.

Vehicle is experiencing the issues described in Ford's April 27th, 2016 recall announcement of bad transmission software and/or hardware. My vehicle is said to be outside of the dates that was affected. While driving the vehicle at speeds of around 25 mph (multiple times) the speedometer becomes erratic and drops to zero mph. Throttle is held steady. The transmission bounces between gears and then goes into first gear at which point the vehicle slows abruptly and the rear tires squeal. I have not driven the vehicle at higher speeds to see if the issue occurs there as well. Video of this happening on my 2012 F-150 available here: Https://youtu.be/P5zxvesusuc

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. While driving in reverse at 3 mph, the contact's husband depressed the brake pedal and the pedal traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle failed to slow down or stop. As a result, the driver struck a pole. The driver shifted the vehicle into drive and the vehicle independently accelerated as the brake pedal was depressed completely to the floor. The driver then shifted the vehicle into park and was able to stop the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. No injuries were sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was driven to the contact's home. On the way to the contact's home, the brake pedal became fully depressed again. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

My transmission intermittently shifts from high gears to low gears and vise versa. This occurs both when accelerating and when in high speeds. It appears to be a lead frame issue according to the dealership in el centro, ca. It is quite dangerous and scary when my child is in the car. I found 16N02 extended warranty and recall #16S19, but they do not cover my vehicle. They should!

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. While driving various speeds and making a left or right turn, the traction control system warning indicator illuminated. When the brakes were engaged by the system, the vehicle's speed was severely reduced and almost caused several crashes. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a recording device was attached, indicating that the contact depressed the brake pedal when, in fact, he did not. The brakes and several parts were replaced by the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

In warm weather the truck suddenly shakes and downshifts to first gear no matter what speed you are going. The speedometer stops working, a wrench is displayed on dash sometimes. The speed after doing this does not exceed 20-25 mph. If we can safely get to the shoulder of the road and turn truck off and restart it everything resets. This happens atleast once daily, sometimes more than once daily. It always happens when truck is in motion. It does not matter what speed as it has happens at different speeds and on one occasion when I was in the process of stopping for a red light. The last occurrence happened today, but it has been happening for several months. When it is cold outside it does happen less, maybe once weekly instead of multiple times daily when the weather is warm outside.

When I an pushing the gas pedal to go, the whole truck vibrates at random intervals and lasts for about 15 seconds at intervals every 1 to 2 minutes. This happens at all speeds and is getting worse everyday. Les schwab checked the tires, brakes, rotors, axles, bearing and U-joints and everything is good. It feels almost like you are driving on a rumble strip but more harsh. The severity of the vibration is worse while driving up hills and it is getting worse by the day.
