Steering wheel clock spring, which controls all steering wheel electronics and airbag is faulty. Replacement clock spring required. I noticed this issue while driving and using my radio controls on the steering wheel. Upon pushing a button like volume up for instance, the radio station would change. The buttons were doing the improper functions. I brought it into Ford and they stated that the clock spring is faulty and needs to be replaced since it controls the airbag, which may be affected by the faulty unit.

After traveling about 35 minutes, I parked my truck for about an hour. After returning to my vehicle and pulling away, my truck would barely accelerate. I gave it more gas and a large wrench warning light appeared on my dash and soon disappeared. Once it was gone, my speedometer didn't function, the mileage was gone and the air bag disconnect warning light was illuminated. I decided to drive it to my dealership 10 miles away so they could attempt to register a code on their computer as I've had issues with this truck bucking/surging while traveling at highways speeds for 8 months. This is the first time a warning light had illuminated for a problem. In addition to the above issues, I noticed that the signals were not turn off automatically and had to be deactivated manually during turns. After the technician took technical information my vehicle was turned off and on and everything returned to normal. As I mentioned there have been multiple issues with my vehicle and they are getting worse and worse. I see no recalls from Ford on this ecoboost engine.

One day I turned on my 2012 Ford F-150 XLT. I went to go open my gate to my front lawn then noticed my airbag light on. I turned off my truck and turned it back on then the light stayed off. I continue to run my errand then when I got back home I noticed that once I unbuckled my seat belt and left the truck running to open my gate. The light came back on again. There is no error message on the light meaning " the light doesn't not blink on start" I have contacted Ford about the issue but they claim there is not a recall notice. I checked the date of manufacture on my door panel and it says 11/11. I have seen that they are recalling vehicles from 11/06 to 11/15. How is my vehicle not on their list.

The passenger airbag off light comes on with a passenger in the seat. I have been to the dealer twice about the problem. The service rep. Has seen the airbag light off light on with my wife sitting the passenger seat. The dealer service dept. Checked the "system" and said it checked out !! there is nothing more we can do. I consider this unacceptable and a major safety issue. Can Ford or the dealer be held responsible if the bag fails to deploy and someone is hurt or killed. Why is this not a recall item?

The passenger air bag off light illuminates with a passenger in the seat. My wife weighs just under 100 lbs. And when she sits in the seat, with her butt all the way back and centered in the seat the light illuminates. As we travel the light sometimes goes off then a short while later it comes back on again. The dealer service dept. Tested the restraint control module and didn't find any codes. They road tested 2 miles with a passenger and declared the system is working as designed. The dealer service advisor witnessed the air bag off light illuminated. Their final word was, "we've done everything we can". in my view this is a safety issue.

Passenger airbag, problem with the 2012 Ford F150 super cab pickup, with XLT trim, and eco-boost engine. This problem may also exist in other 2012 Ford 150 pickups. The passenger airbag system will display the "passenger airbag off" light for light weight adult passengers, thereby turning off all 3 air-bags for the front seat passenger (front, side, and curtain). This happens with adults weighing approximately 132+ pounds or below. At 150 pounds and above, the system works properly. This problem is intermittent, that is it may be off for periods of time, and then on for periods of time. These times may vary from anywhere from 5 minutes to one hour or more. This problem was not only present in my truck, but an identical brand-new truck, which was brought up for testing to verify that the problem was not just my vehicle, but was a system design problem. The Ford repair shop at sewell Ford ran through the diagnostic tests and found no problems detected. Subsequently, after a written complaint to Ford, a field service engineer came out and again substantiated that their system test read normal function. He stated that the system passed government standards, and there was nothing to be done, and that there was no problem with the system. If this is the case, then according to the Ford manual, my wife must ride in the rear seat for safety.
