The rear window defroster stopped working (winter). In researching the probable cause of the rear defroster issue we found over the past several years there have been countless stories & posts from around the country detailing specifically the issue we were experiencing with the defroster and realizing this was a know issue with this vehicle. There were countless stories, many harrowing accounts of broken rear windows due to the nature of the engineering to repair as well as way too many stories with customers having to deal with local and national Ford representatives to try to address the obvious engineering issue. While I may agree this may be a personal observation, there are way too many occurrences of this problem occurring across multiple model years for Ford leadership to not be concerned with this issue and doing something to facilitate the corrective actions to address the defect.

The vehicle was taken to wray Ford (2851 benton rd, bossier city, la 71111) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 197,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the service engine light illuminated on the instrument panel with the speedometer failing to operate as designed. The contact also stated that the vehicle independently downshifted and had to be restarted to resume normal operation. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer nor an independent mechanic to be inspected. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19V433000 (power train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

While driving from Ohio back to North Carolina, my wife and I were travelling at 75 mph when suddenly and without warning my truck abruptly stalled to 5 mph with no power from the accelerator. I managed to get the truck out of the high speed lane on a two lane highway and on to the side of the road. I turned the truck off. A few minutes later, I turned the truck back on and all function resumed. This has happened in the past, but when I took it in for work there was no issue reported or read and the error could not be replicated. The truck was towed to a Ford dealership. Service informed me I had a bad throttle body. This truck was part of a "customer satisfaction program" run in 2013 for a bad throttle body and total loss of acceleration. My truck received the repair in 2014 voiding the throttle body 10 year or 150,000 mile warranty. The safety concern remains and is endangering my life, my wife, and our future child. The part might be replaced without fixing the problem. An electrical issue may keep this vehicle having reoccurrences. This has me very concerned about a service that does not increase vehicle safety. And because of that concern I began to inquire if anyone else has had this issue. It turns out that in 2015 a class action suit was filed against Ford and settled on individual basises (janis benkle et al V Ford Motor Company). Currently, there are no programs to assist owners like myself in this situation. The original program is no longer valid and the repair performed was only good for one time (that repair apparently would not solve the safety concern as others have stated that the problem persisted after a new throttle body was put in). I have sought out an audience with the "zone manager". however, I have been informed that is impossible as customer care will not give that information and neither will the dealership.

Driving at 70mph, engine became weak, check engine light came on, transmission went to 5th gear, speedometer went to 0 though tachometer was still showing around 2,000 RPM. Airbag light came on. Truck wouldn't shift up or down. Came to a stop, transmission went to 3rd. Had to shut off truck and restart. This has happened 3 times in 1 month. I just purchased this truck three weeks prior to this occurrence.

I had the wrench light come on while I was driving and didn't have much of a problem at first. Then a day later when I was going to work, I turned the truck on and pushed the gas and the light came on and I could not accelerated at all. My RPM's would not climb. I had to let my truck start to go on its own then my gas peddle would finally catch and my truck would go. Later that day I was driving home from work, going about 40mph, and my vehicle went into limp mode. I had to pull over and restart my truck. It did like 3 times on the way home. What I don't understand is how as soon as I start my truck, with it still in park, and hit the gas the light illuminates and the trucks rpms don't work. This is one of many problems I have had with this truck. The A/C is a whole other topic.

Steering column telescopic in/out and up and down blows fuses all the time others on forums are having same problem when looked up for info. Fuse is either 23 or 24 on passenger side. Ford never listed this in owners diagrams. This is a very big problem that many people are complaining about in many year models.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at 60 mph, the gear down shifted from sixth gear down to third, back up a few gears then back down, without warning and caused consumer to lose control temporarily. The failure occurred on two occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer llc chapman Ford located at llc 3951 columbia ave, columbia, pa 17512 where it was diagnosed that the wire harness melted which needed replacement along with the PCM. In addition, the dealer informed that there might be a possibility that the transmission would have been damaged as well but wont be determined until further use of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

While driving on the interstate at approximately 55 miles an hour on straight road at steady speed without warning the truck began to lurch jump and lose power, regain power and lose power. I noticed that the speedometer was very erratic and I had a light flashing on the dash as well. This pattern repeated until I eventually had to pull off the side of the road and restart the truck. It drove correctly the rest of the way home after that.

Stopped running, died coming off interstate at 75 mph. Day before died and wouldn't start just rolled and rolled over. Hour later, it started. Had it towed off interstate would not start. Started once at dealer. Dealer stated the fuse 27 is known to melt and after a week in the shop it is fuse 27 which also had to be rewired. It is on websites that fuse 27 does this all the time.. shutting off on interstate is a horrible experience especially when Ford knows of this defect.

While driving on freeway around 70mph, the truck lost complete power. All functionality of vehicle including power steering and hazard flashers were inoperable. Fortunately I was in the right lane and able to guide the vehicle safely to the shoulder. The cause appeared to be BCM connector C2280G (which supplies all power to BCM) had unseated itself and become disconnected. After reconnecting, the vehicle was fully operable again. This is the second time the problem occurred but only the first time while driving highway speeds. The first occurance was in January of 2020. The connector appears to be in good condition and feels like it snaps back securely in place. A quick google search revealed the attached general service bulletin which indicates this is a known problem and an extremely dangerous problem at that.

The battery will be drained overnight randomly. First time the truck was a year old. Dealer replaced battery. Over a year later, same thing. Replaced battery. I replaced battery four months back and the truck has discharged the battery by the morning. Completely dead battery. Will charge fine and drive fine. No alternator issue. The radio / computer screen will display "battery saver" when the engine is turned off for no reason.

An electrical problem in the epas unit has resulted in the loss of power steering in my 2013 Ford F-150. Vehicle has 63,000 miles and has no accidents and has not been subject to abnormal driving conditions. The problem presented itself when the weather became cold during the fall of 2019. When outside temperatures dropped below 65 degrees and I started my vehicle I received a "power steering assist failure" warning and the vehicle did not have power steering. Testing over a 4 week period as the outside temperature fluctuated between 40-80 degrees allowed me to see the connection to the power steering failure and the outside temperature. Additionally, when the outside temperature was close to, but did not exceed 65 degrees. I could start my vehicle and drive it around, the heat from the engine would warm the unit enough to allow it to work. All I needed to do was turn the vehicle off and then back on and the power steering would work. After reading about all the recalls Ford has issued related to their epas unit I believe there is systemic problem with the part. Additionally, this part cannot be serviced and requires a full replacement. Part cost is $1500 plus 2-3 hours of labor. Putting the total cost to repair at $1800 - $1900 in my area.

I regularly have my truck serviced.. today my engine light came on with no warning. It sent a message to put vehicle in park. It was towed to my home. It will not let me shift to drive with an uncontrollable vibration. It did almost the same thing when it was recalled. I have always paud my payments on time... had it servuced accordingly. Mt truck has given me more problems than I deserve.
