The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle downshifted from high gear to first gear, causing the rear wheels to lock up. As a result, the contact's vehicle skidded off the road. In addition, the contact stated that the wrench warning icon illuminated. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to thomasville Ford Lincoln (1515 E jackson St, thomasville, ga 31792) where it was diagnosed that an electrical failure with the lead frame caused the vehicle to downshift and would need to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was contacted and opened case number: Cas14180308. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000. The VIN was not available.

Dining acceleration the truck would sputter in higher RPM then just recently I would be doing 70 mph down the highway and I would get a service light with power reduction which in turn would require me to pull over shut the truck off restart it and try again. I would get back up to speed and it would repeat. Each time only getting about a mile up the road and it would repeat. Took the truck into the dealer as it was still in warranty the first time and they ignored the P2112 code and replaced a totally different sensor.

My Ford F150 experienced a coolant system leak similar to recalls for other Ford models (https://media.Ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2017/03/29/Ford-issues-three-safety-recalls-and-one-safety-compliance-recal.html). The problem is so bad with Ford trucks around my model year that there is a nationwide backorder of the part to fix the problem. The coolant system's "T connector" was leaking onto my wiring harness and presented a potential fire hazard much like the recall notice for similar Ford vehicles. Simply search "2013 Ford F150 coolant leak" and the T connector problem is at the top of the search results. Ford dealers and mechanic shops are aware of the design flaw, but Ford Motor Co will not address it as a recall at this time. This needs to be remedied. The leak was occurring when the vehicle was running and in motion.

Remote started the vehicle at night, around 7:30 pm on a 23 degree temperature night in central Indiana. We then got into the vehicle roughly 5 minutes later. Both doors were then closed and the key was put into the ignition. Once the key was in the ignition, we heard a very loud "bang" noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. We noticed the driver's side 1/3 of the power sliding rear window was shattered. We exited the vehicle to inspect the damage. Nothing was present in the bed of the truck to cause us to believe something had hit it. Upon further investigation online and a certified mechanics opinion, it has come to our attention that this is a "common" issue with Ford F-series trucks. The rear defrost mechanism becomes too hot during remote start and causes the tempered glass to become unstable and shatter.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving 35 mph, the rear defogger was activated and the rear window shattered. The vehicle was taken to donley Ford Lincoln of mount vernon (1455 coshocton ave, mt vernon, oh 43050, (740) 392-2222) where it was diagnosed that there was a shortage in the rear defogger. The rear window needed replacement. The contact mentioned that the defogger was built into the window. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 65,800.

1/26/17: It was 45 degrees this morning so I used the remote start (factory supplied on key remote) to get my truck running before leaving for work. As I walked outside (did not touch the truck), I heard a loud gunshot. Thinking something had fallen on the truck I looked up and it was not parked under anything. I walked around the truck to find that the drivers side panel of the back window was spidered. Again, I was not driving or parked under or around something that could have impacted my truck/window.

Truck would turn over but not start, no fuel was making it to spark as fuse for fuel pump had melted into fuel box and damaged it. This is a faulty setup and needs to be address before someones life is taken or injured badly.

Truck has downshifted from drive into a lower gear. Also engine rattles on startup. Mechanic advised the rattle is probably a stretched timing chain. Downshifting occurred on the highway at approximately 55 mph. My son has a 2011 4 wheel drive Ford pickup with a V-6 engine. 45,000 miles. The timing was replaced at a cost of $1800. Ford Motor Company will not fix problems.

I entered the vehicle at about 10 pm on 12/31/17 and started driving home. It was cold so I turned on the windshield defroster and the rear window defroster. About 5 minutes into my trip I noticed a light on the dash go on then off and was not sure which one it was then it flashed again it was the rear window defroster button. The next thing we heard a very loud pop like and saw the rear window shattered. It is a power slider just the section directly behind the driver shattered. I did some research and found out there has been numerous complaints about this very same thing. Next I will be going to a local dealer and making a complaint because from what I can see there has not been any recalls on this matter. What is it going to take to get a recall on this? I believe the Ford Motor Company should absorb the cost for the replacement

Engine fire. A strong smell of burning, electrical wiring order started coming from the A/C vents, I soon noticed smoke coming from under the hood. As the truck slowed to a stop and I guided to the side of the road, open my door, I could see the flames rising and growing larger. By the time I got off the phone with 911, I heard the first blast. In less than 5 mins. Later a larger, louder blast happened. Not long after that, the whole front end was completely melted.

On December 7th 2017, my 2013 my 2013 F-150 started having electrical issues resulting in a dead battery that has not been corrected. Error messages that arise include " battery saver on' and "audio off" indicators and after jumpstarting the vehicle will start with the key in the "on" position and in some cases such as mine, the vehicle will not shift out of 5th gear until the ignition is cycled off and then on again. This vehicle has left me stranded requiring me to find someone to jumpstart it. There are an increasing number of complaints on this year model for the exact same issue with no resolution from Ford.

The apim or advanced protocol interface module went bad this is the computer screen. The heat would kick on high and blow on high speed and it would get so hot inside the vehicle on a hot day that we literally felt like passing out. There was no way to control the heat or air conditioning system and we had to open all the windows and sunroof just to cool down and it was still so hot. We had to keep opening the sunroof so many times it broke and was not covered under warranty. The truck only had 99,000 miles on it. Buyer beware the apim unit is only covered for 5 years from warranty start date and I was never notified by Ford that this was a recall service bulletin M202. The sunroof would have never went bad had the apim unit not malfunctioned because we never opened it before the unit went bad. Total cost of my repair 2400 for sunroof and 1000 for apim unit replacement. This is a safety hazard because you have to drive with all windows down and it gets so hot you will feel sick.

I have had rear window issues since I bought the truck. First was when the rear defrost/mirror defrost wasn't working. They replaced the window in 2014. Second time was in April of 2017. We had a heavy frost and I couldn't see out the back window or the side mirrors, so I turned on the defrost. About ten minutes later I was driving down the highway and heard what sounded like a gunshot. I immediately started looking around thinking someone shot at me. I didn't realize right away due to the rear headrest covering a large portion of the window, that the drivers side stationary section of the back window had exploded. The glass stayed intact, however tiny slivers of glass fell onto my daughters car seat which was in front of this window. Ford did replace the window, reluctantly and I paid an insurance deductible, even though the internet is full of people having the same problem. I recently went to turn on my rear defrost again, and found the same issue as the first problem, where the defrost wont work and the likely fix is replacing the rear window. This will be the fourth window in four years. Is this something I should expect to do like oil changes and tires" this is ridiculous. The exploding window can really be an issue. Someone may panic and think its a gunshot, and cause an accident or if someone was sitting there, they could get glass slivers on them. This appears to have been a known issue for years with these windows. Why haven't they been forced to redesign it"

Within 5 minutes of starting the vehicle I smelt a burning plastic odor while entering the highway. Once on the highway I noticed my a.C. was not working, I rolled down my window and attempted to turn up the blower speed. Shortly after smoke starting blowing out from the vents, the defrost area, and around the touch screen. Within minutes the smoke was thick and green with an electrical fire odor. (I could identify this as I am certified through the state of Missouri, firefighter 1 and 2). I used my left blinker to pass a vehicle to exit the highway, the smoke intensified to where I couldn't see or breathe. I exited the hwy. I parked in a private lot and exited the vehicle as melting flaming plastic was dripping at my feet, and opened the hood. No flames present under the hood. I looked through the pass. Window and flames were pouring from under the dash with a starting point of the center of the dash area. Within minutes the vehicle was fully involved.

I pre-started my truck this morning 10/19 w/ autostart on fob. The truck was stationary. I loaded both my 1 yr old and my 3 year old into their car seat and went back into house to grab my raincoat. When I returned the exterior near bottom left rear glass was significantly smoking/smoldering. 2 seconds later a small 2-3' flame started in the same area on the weatherstrip. I turned my truck off. I happened to have my phone in hand and video taped the moments following. The flame self-extinguished and shortly after cake a loud bang. In line with the sound of a small caliber handgun. The sound was the back glass exploding. Luckily the tint kept the glass sheet intact. This is the 2nd time this has happened. 1st with no kids in the car on 12/15. Fire was no less than 12' from my sons head, had the power not been secured there would have been a significant chance of running up the combustible weather-strip and potentially igniting the vehicle cabin. I feel I am able to make this claim based on the fact I am employed as a career municipal firefighter. This is unnaceptable for any truck especially one with 44,500 miles. The only way Ford will investigate is for me to pay for the cost of diagnostic. Not covered under warranty.

Driving on the highway at 60 mph the brake system hazard light illuminated. The electronic breaks did not work properly. It was raining slightly and the roads were wet. First incident of this happening, the sync system/ touch screen has froze and not worked both in motion, and stationary 3 times. Concerned that all electrical issues may be related. Have owned used vehicle for 50 days, just went over 60,000 miles.
