My Ford F150 XLT, 4X4 stalls and almost shuts down at times. The truck is brand new. This truck has the ecoboost V6 engine. The conditions were that the road was wet. Unhappy because I paid a tremendous amount of money for this vehicle.

While driving on the interstate with cruise control set approximately at 70mph, I stepped on the gas to accelerate past a vehicle. The truck did not respond but decelerated and the steering wheel began to shake. The check engine light flashed. I continued to drive and with only slight pressure to the gas to maintain speed. After approximately 5-10 seconds the vehicle regained power. The incident happened a second time, same conditions same results. The Ford dealer says its a known problem with parts back ordered. This seems unacceptable if its a know problem. Someone can get in a serious accident at highway speeds if they pulled out in fast moving traffic expecting acceleration to be there.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly decelerated and independently engaged into limp safe mode. The contact mentioned that while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle started to shake violently as the check engine warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 1,300.

Upon hard acceleration to pass on highway the truck lost power check engine light continually flashed and shuttered when attempted to give truck any acceleration. After a few minutes of driving on shoulder to get to safe exit vehicle seemed to reset and regain all functions and power.

I have a new Ford F-150 with only 1,500 miles on it. I was leaving a restaurant getting on the road with cars rushing behind me going about 45mph when all the sudden the trucks engine started shaking really bad. The engine light come, truck started beeping and the tool wrench started to flicker on the dash board saying "service". the truck stopped accelerating all of the sudden and no matter how much I pushed the petal to accelerate, truck would not accelerate at all. Lost all power to accelerate. Cars from behind had to quickly maneuver out of my lane to avoid hitting me. Could have been much worse if I would have been going faster. Called Ford roadside assistance to take truck to dealership to see what??S going on. I have read other similar problems to mine stating the weather and/or condition of road was wet but as for my issue the weather outside was cool and sunny no rain or wet road at the time the issue happened.

I went to pass a slow moving vehicle and only had a short distance to pass. I pressed down hard on the accelerator, the engine shutdown, truck was coasting, and the orange traction slip light came on. Then the engine came back on and I was able to finish passing. This was in carlsbad, nm. I took it to the local Ford dealer they said there nothing showed on their diagnostic computer, but they did try to charge me $150 labor. I refused to pay, because this is a new truck and the incident happened twice driving into carlsbad. I have tried to duplicate the incident once since, but the engine did not shutdown.

I just read a story and the one on fox news. This exact ecoboost problem happened to me about 1 month ago in my 2013 F-150 king ranch (28K miles). I was driving North on I81 in pa and suddenly my truck went like a bucking Bronco, losing power as I went along until I was down to about 30mph on a highway. This lasted for about 10-15 minutes and then miraculously cleared up. I fear the damage it has done to the engine and could be very dangerous if this happens again in heavy traffic on a highway. This has happened one other time as well. All I could assume at the time was a bad tank of gas or some sort of misfire/cylinder problem. Who do I report this to? Not getting sticker mpg; took vehicle back and Ford milham dealership in easton pa off rt 33 said " there is nothing we can do about it" power steering rack also malfunctioned at 7,000 miles. Dealership manager agreed there is an issue with the vehicle. I dropped the vehicle off on a Wednesday. Thursday night they called and stated everything checked out and "Ford says it's within range". I was also told I will receive a survey online - I never received the email to communicate my dissatisfaction with the vehicle and the dealership. Vehicle now has 10,000 miles and now I get 16 mpg on highway (no city driving).

Said vehicle does not get the mileage stated on window sticker and advertisements. 2013 4X4 ecoboost states 15city/21hwy, it does only get about 13-15mpg in city, but on highway; average is roughly 17mpg, which compared to the sticker is a 4mpg difference.

I was traveling at exactly 70 mph on the interstate at about 40 degrees in my brand new 2013 F-150 ecoboost. While attempting to pass a line of slower semi-trucks, I put the accelerator pedal to the floor. The engine rev'd and the started violently shuttering to the point I thought the engine mounts were surely breaking. The vehicle lost most of its power and with another trucker behind me in the passing lane, it immediately became an extremely dangerous situation. I could not accelerate at all and fortunately was able to let the lower traffic pass me so I could fall into the slow lane -- it was very dangerous to put it mildly. The truck fixed itself after about 5 miles of slower driving. I took it to the Ford dealership the next morning and they kept it for several days and couldn't find any problems. I tried to duplicate the event and couldn't. the scene repeated itself three times under exactly the same circumstances with two or three weeks separating the occurrences. The last time the dealership service department said Ford corporate engineering did not know what the problem was and to try re-installing the computer software. This appears to have fixed the problem but my gas mileage has gone down to an average 18.5 mpg and previously I was getting up to 25 mpg average.

While traveling in rain on the highway - outside temp 40 deg F / dewpoint 40 (this is relevant - this issue occurs whenever temp & dew point are within 10 of each other for many others) at 65mph - I attempted to pass a slower moving vehicle. After my lane change, I attempted to accelerate & the vehicle downshifted & revved high for a second and then ilost 90% of my engines power, the vehicle began to shudder & shake and a check engine light (cel) began to blink on my dash. I was nearly hit be 2 fast moving semi trucks as I tried to cross 3 lanes of traffic to get to the berm with 0 ability to accelerate any further. Stopping & starting the engine made the issue go away. A similar even occurred this morning as well but cleared itself after I let off of the gas. I have heard numerous reports of this issue on different F-150 forums. The issue is apparently too much condensation in the ecoboost engines twin turbo intercooler (hence the temp/dew point correlation). Ford has been attempting to resolve this for 3 years now - and just released a new tsb 12-10-19 which I hope will resolve it. I have had the vehicle for 14 days - and it should not have been sold to me with this known dangerous failure possibility being present. The tsb is being applied to my vehicle tomorrow & I hope it works. Numerous others have had different attempts at repair & none have made the issue permanently go away. This is a major safety concern.
