Front seat back cooling system (ted) is malfunctioning. When seat cooling is selected, after 30 minutes, the back of the front seats reach extreme temperatures, resulting in burning everyone that touches the back of the front seats. I've measure the temperatures, at the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. When ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees, the front seat back temperature can reach up to 150 degrees or more! please reference F150 owners comments and thermal pictures proving this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed asap, at the web address:

The front seat back cooling system (utilizing a ted unit for cooling) is malfunctioning on my brand new 2015 Ford F-150 platinum. When seat cooling is selected, after 15-30 minutes, the back of the front seats reaches extreme temperatures, resulting in extreme discomfort and potential burning of anyone that touches the front or back of the front seat backs. Members of the Ford F-150 forum have measured and documented the temperature readings, at the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. When ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees, the front seat back temperature can easily reach up to 150 degrees or more. These are levels of heat that certainly can injure a child, or even an adult and, if a child is left in a locked car with the "cooling seats" engaged, it can more rapidly escalate the ambient temperatures to a dangerous and perhaps fatal level inside the vehicle. All attempts to bring this to Ford regional and national customer service agents have been met with total disregard and, in some cases refusal to admit that a problem even exists. Aside from the fact that owners paid $60K for these vehicles, Ford's callous disregard of owners attempts to bring this to their attention are in stark contrast with Ford's stated commitment to quality and service. Examples of seat discoloration (leather) indicate just how high the temperatures can get. A 2013 vehicle with similar options had cooled seats that functioned perfectly well, but all 2015"S share this design flaw. Please reference F150 owner"S comments and thermal pictures documenting this issue at the web address: www.F150forum.com/F118/cooling-seats-your-seat-backs-working-properly-304154/index112 any assistance you can provide in bringing this issue to the immediate attention of Ford Motor Co. Would be greatly appreciated.

The truck has malfunctioning climate controlled-massaging seats. The climate control does not work on the seats at all. My dealership looked it over today and confirmed that it was not working but then after two service reps could not find the problem they decided that since the truck has the massaging feature that the climate control must be disabled and will not work! I accepted this answer for a while and then decided that this is surely not the case or why else would the sales sheets say "climate controlled massaging seats"; not "climate controlled or massaging seats"? well I called the Ford support phone number and after much deliberation the representative told me that I should go to another dealership! I have since learned that this is a common issue to some degree on many year/model of Ford trucks. Considering that I just traded a 2014 Ford raptor for this truck and the climate controlled seats worked (although not considerably well) on it, I am very disappointed. The dealership that I purchased the truck from did not acknowledge this as being a problem but just a simple internet search yields thousands of complaints! the problem is so severe that when seat cooling is selected, after 10 minutes, the front seats reach even hotter temperatures rather than cooler. Ford seems to be unwilling to take care of this problem but continues to advertise the feature and selling their trucks as if nothing is wrong! something needs to be done about this issue.

The F150 has climate controlled seat that all the occupants in the front two seats are able to use to heat or cool the seating surface. On my model the seat back of the system is not functioning properly in the cooling mode. After as little as 10 min of use the seat back goes from ambient temperature to uncomfortably warm. When reaching behind the seat and placing a hand on the back of the seat back there is a very hot section where the thermal electronic device is located. This is a safety hazard for anyone reaching into the map pocket or any adult or child who touches the back of the seat. While researching this issue online there have been owners who have used thermal imaging and temperature detection devices who have measured temperature from 115-130 degrees on the back seat. Some even complain they have measured 150 degress. At that temperature a child could easily suffer severe burns to ther person. I do not have a device to measure temperature to get the exact number but it is uncomfortable to leave my hand on the area of the seat where the ted is located for any length of time.

The cooled seat function on the 2015 is a very poor design and it causes extreme heat to the back of the seat while the bottom of the seat somewhat cools. I feel this is a fire danger to anything in the seat back pocket.

Front seat cooling system, back of both the driver and passenger seats, is not working. When cooling is selected the back seat does not cool rather after 10-15 mins. It warms up. I have read the temp. With a gun and found it to be between 115 and 150 degrees at the back of the seat right above the map pocket at a ambient temp. Of 75 degrees. My dealers answer to the issue was Ford states its working as designed. I am not using the cooling function with anything in the back for fear or how hot it gets and a fire. Ford has not given a fix for the problem. I am one of many. It is in many forums about this issue.

Front seat back cooling system (ted) is malfunctioning. When seat cooling is selected, after 5-10 minutes the back of the front seats reach extreme temperatures. I am concerned that the extreme temperatures could pose a potential burn hazard or cause an electrical fire. I have not personally measured the temperature of the seats but while researching the problem I came across a forum where individuals with thermal cameras and inferred thermometers have measured the temperatures of the seat. Several of the results were: At the top of the map pocket, at over 115 degrees, when ambient temperatures were at 75 degrees. When ambient temperatures rise above 90 degrees, the front seat back temperature can reach up to 150 degrees or more! numerous people are having this problem and Ford has not made any public announcement that there is a potential problem with the cooled seats.
