F-150 6-cyl

A piece within the door latch mechanism may fail after exposure to extreme temperatures. If this happens, a vehicle's doors may not close properly or they may open while the vehicle is in motion. The issue should have been addressed under two prior recalls, but Ford says not all faulty door latches have been properly repaired or replaced. Recall was done however problem still exists. Replaced door actuator on passenger side door and now driver door has issue.

The sync system fails to turn and/or shuts off without warning during vehicle use. The sync system includes navigation, bluetooth capabilities, radio, etc. My sync system has not worked for over 10 days now. A quick search online makes it apparent that this is a widespread issue over several different Ford models and several different years.

When accelerating, about 90% of the time the vehicle will get warnings for "hill descent control fault" and "advance track service". when this happens, the vehicle will not accelerate anymore and starts slowing down. This has happened to me twice getting onto the interstate in the past month but luckily no vehicles were coming up behind me. This is a huge safety issue though that Ford needs to recognize and fix. The dealership said they have no idea what is causing it but everyone online says that it's likely to be the steering rack. Recall the steering rack because this has apparently happened to a lot of people.

Ford F-150 had a recall 10/2018 for door latch actuation. Phil long Ford did the recall 11/2018 however 12/2019 I had to replace the door actuator on my passenger side and now my driver side door actuator is broken as well. So whatever the recall did obviously didn't fix my door situation actually only caused the issues.

My trucks tail gate latch is stuck closed and the mechanism won't work. I can't open the tail gate and it's locked shut. I use it for work daily and need access to this. I have friends who have F-150's from 2015-2017 as well and they have the problem where their tail gates either stop working and get locked shut or have been locked open and can't shut them. There are many videos on youtube and many people with the same issues on different forums talking about this problem on 2015-2017 F-150 all the up to F-350's. you can hear the mechanism trying to unlike because it's an electronic locking/unlocking system but it won't open. Too many people are replacing these actuators in the tail gate with their own money and I believe Ford and it's suppliers should be resolving this issue. I use my trucks for work daily and need to get into my truck bed, but with a tonneau cover on it, I'll be locked out of my own bed, so I can't even put a cover on it to keep my tools locked up and safe. I have an old 2002 F-150 and have never had any problems with doors or the back tail gate which I still use daily on that truck also for work. Not sure why these newer trucks have such cheap or bad parts.

Electric rear tailgate falls down randomly while driving at speed or even while parked. Tailgate has fallen 5-6 times while truck is parked in last few months and also 5+ times while car is driving. It has fallen while truck was in reverse, and while truck was traveling on country roads at speeds of ~40mph. Please note - this issue seems identical to the one Ford just announced a recall for on the 2017-2019 F-250 superduty trucks. It must be related. Our truck was in the shop just last week before this recall was announced. This truck should be included in the recall the tailgate most recently fell 11/28/19

For years Ford has had a problem with the heat/ac in their pickups. The heat will stop on the passenger side and will blow nothing but cold air. This is the second F-150 that I have had with this problem. It is caused by a faulty blend door actuator. Instead of Ford correcting the problem by designing a new actuator, they continue to replace the defective part with the same part that will eventually fail. This is extremely dangerous for older people or those with young children. There are numerous complaints on the various internet help pages. Ford is making a lot of money replacing this second rate part because the complete dash has to be removed just to replace the actuator. It is very expensive and some, such as me, cannot afford tp pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 for this repair just to have the new part fail.

I have a small hole in the exhaust system between the engine and catalytic converters. Crescent Ford trucks, the dealer I purchased the vehicle from, said that the hole in the exhaust system was there by design to drain water. I cannot believe that the epa would be happy with a hole from which exhaust gases can escape before they are treated by the catalytic converter. Hopefully I am reporting this to the right Agency

I bought this truck brand new from the dealer 8-2015. As of August 1, 2019 the truck stated vibrating between 50 mph and 75 mph while driving on the highways. I am getting a vibration from what appears to be my drive axle. It is most prominent when letting off the throttle and coasting from 75 mph to 50 mph. You can feel it in the steering wheel and you can also hear it.

The factory/ dealer installed tow brake controller does not apply enough brake power to stop trailer. When towing my 5th wheel(10000lbs)it works fine when I manually apply the override button but when I apply the brake pedal the trailer brakes don't get the command to engage with enough power to stop trailer, my truck is doing almost all of the braking. I have read online where many Ford F 150 owners are having similar issues. Ford says there is nothing wrong. I have been towing using the manual override switch or learning to slam on the brakes to stop. The trailer brakes do work almost when I slam on the brake pedal. I am sure that this shouldn't be happening because it's not safe.

In early September of 2019, I was driving my 2015 Ford F-150 on a major highway at about 65 mph. Suddenly, the vehicle stalled and lost all power as the dashboard lite up with some kind of traction warning. I drifted to the side of the road and put it in parked. The whole vehicle shook significantly at this point. I turned the vehicle off and waited about 2minutes. I started the truck up and went on my way with no problem. (note: This incident was a serious safety issue as I was on a major roadway in heavy traffic. My 10 and 8 year old grandchildren were in the back seat). A few weeks and a couple hundred miles later, I was on a narrow mountain road going about 45 mph when the exact same thing happened. I took the truck to the Ford dealer after both occurrences, but they could not find anything wrong with it, and said there was nothing they could do. I'm reluctant to drive it as this situation could cause an accident. It only has 42,000 miles on it and I use it to tow my travel trailer. I was not towing the trailer when these incidents occurred. I saw on your web site that several other people have had similar issues with the Ford F-150. Is there anything I can do about this? note that I bought the truck new in 2015 from the same dealer that I took it to for service. Vehicle went into limp mode 4 times one day and 3 days later 8 times.faults were hill assist, advanced track, picture of wrench came on then engine light. Limp mode is a serious accident waiting to happen as I was on a rural narrow road, had to stop vehicle put in park shut off engine. Restart engine go a ways and limp mode again. If this happened on a large freeway or at an intersection it would be a serious accident. Called dealership when it first happened they could not get me in for 8 days.
