Recently purchased a 2016 Ford F150 and am having the same issues as reported by multiple other customers. Once the weather approaches freezing temperatures, the door latch fails. Very simple, got into the truck and when closing the door, it will not latch and continued to open. I've found that pushing either the unlock or lock from inside the truck remedies this on the few occasions I've had it happen. My carfax indicates this has been reported to a dealership on multiple occasions w/o remedy. I've reviewed prior complaints and this has been reported several times in addition to occurring when in operation. I've yet to experience it happening when operating at this time. I've worked in the personal auto insurance industry for nearly 15 years and am quite certain this is an unacceptable manufacturer safety risk. Please recall and do the right thing here Ford. Thanks!

The electronic tailgate releases (opens) on its own either while the vehicle is in operation or while parked. This caused damage to the tailgate by an opening garage door and risks damage to traffic by the truck bed contents being expelled while underway. This defect has not been reported to a local dealer, manufacturer, police or insurance. There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms that preceeded the tailgate opening. This problem first happened approximately 08/01/2021 and has happened two more times since then during Aug 2021.

The top track of the rear window that holds the smaller sliding window in place became completely detached from the back wall of the cabin. The small window was being held in place by the lower track only. This caused the top track and the sliding window to lean into the cabin away from the main rear window. It created an air gap between the main window and the small window. The vehicle was not in motion. The vehicle was not damaged in any other way. It appears that the adhesive holding the track in place simply failed over time. In my opinion this created a safety issue. If the truck had been rear-ended, I think it is possible that the top track and window could have become completely detached and caused injuries to passengers in the truck.

The sun/moon roof had been rattling since early 2020 - maybe since we bought it in March 2019. Taken to the local Ford dealership 3 times in 2020 for this rattle. Just picked it up (3/20/2021) and both sunroof guides/ramps cracked and all of it had to be replaced. This is a safety concern - what if the entire sun/moon roof assembly would have shattered? thankfully, we spent the $3000 on an extended warranty, but still had to pay $148 to get it all fixed.

*problem occurs every time it is 35degrees or colder.* every time someone opens the passenger front door, gets in and when it's time to get out, and tries to shut the door, it bounces back open-never latches. Door will not secure. Will happen stationary, in motion, on a city street, or a highway, turning, etc. I have had it into the local Ford dealership 3 different times and extra lube has not fixed the issue. This is a safety issue. It happens every time door is opened from the inside.

During cold weather the vehicle doors will either not open or will not shut once opened until the interior of the truck warms up. I have had my truck in previously for a recall on this exact problem. This morning my driver's side door would not latch shut after I opened the door. I had to pull the door shut and finally got the door locks to hold the door so I could drive to work. Once the vehicle interior warmed I was able to properly shut my door. I called my Ford dealer today and they said it would not be covered under warranty. This is a huge safety problem that hord has known about for years and still haven't fixed the problem.

I purchased a used 2016 Ford F-150 XLT crew cab, 4X4, 2.7L engine on 01/29/2021. My driver's side door won't close/ latch properly, making the vehicle unsafe to drive. I have read the Ford forums, and it seems as though Ford F-150's have this as a common issue in cold weather climates. There have been numerous recalls for this safety issue, but it does not appear by my VIN # that there is an active open recall. I will check with Ford to see what they will do to remedy the issue.

Hood was released while driving down the freeway (it didn't open all the way due to the safety catch under the hood). This is about the 6th time this has happened iover the last 2 years but first time it has happened while driving on the freeway. We stopped using the emergency brake about 3 months ago because we thought maybe our foot was accidentally hitting the hood release lever on the inside panel. Therefore, this most recent time it happened, we didn't have a foot anywhere near the hood release lever the entire trip. Had it in the dealership 2 years ago when it first happened and they apparently didn't fix it or didn't know what was wrong.

The driver door came open and wouldn't close. I had to hold the door closed while I drove home almost 40 miles away!!! it was very difficult to hold because it kept wanting to fly open. This first happened when I got in my truck to leave my farm, but I had no option other than to drive home trying to hold the door shut.

Door latches 'freeze' and will not engage in cold weather (vehicle is parked outside and in cold weather this is frequent problem). This problem had previous recall / repair but fix is not working. Rear window defroster does not work in one section of 3 part window (has one part of three section - section on drivers side). Vehicle has 30,000 miles. Window sections that do work get hot

Drivers side door does not latch all the time when closed. Car was parked in the garage with temps in the high 40's and had not been in any wet weather or washed in 4 days. Shut it 5 times and it would just bounce back opened. This has happened on and off since we owned the truck(1-2019). Happens more often in cooler weather. Have talked to the Ford dealer since 1-2019 and they said there was no recall and to use penetrating oil on the latch. Which has not helped.

Dec 2019, I reported to the car dealer that my door latch was frozen and my door would not close while I was trying to go to work (still in driveway). Fred beans of West chester, pa told be there was nothing they could do that I should be able to heat it up. Although this is now Oct 2020, I found in my folder while looking for something else mfg recall number 17S33, NHTSA recall # 17V652. I setup up an appt, dropped off my car and they called me this morning 10/5 that they cannot repair because they will not get reimbursed.

The locks on my truck froze in winter and as my wife was goin down interstate the door came open and I've went to the dealership where I got it nd they refuse ta fix my recalls and told me it would be 4 days without a vehicle and I'm active military and can not go without a vehicle they offered no car ta me and we're rude and not willing ta show me which of the 10 recalls on my truck if any had been fixed. I just bought this truck in 2019 and am having nuthin but issues and I believe it ta be a lemon and the dealer is of no help.

Door latch stuck open after opening and unable to get to reset so door would stay closed. Vehicle was unsafe to drive until temperatues outside went up above freezing. Vehicle was parked in driveway and remote start was used to start/warm vehicle prior to trying to leave for work. Happened multiple times this winter, but only recording one date below due to limitation in online reporting system. When looking up this problem found vehicles have been issued recall for repair, but my vehicle VIN is not included in the recall for this issue.

When I got off work got into my vehicle after a rainy day water poured out from my control panel on the ceiling of my truck. This the second time it's done it. Water comes out of the buttons used to control the rear window button also from the passenger side handle used to help upon entry to the vehicle. The vehicle was stationary for 10 hours and rain was happening all day. When I got in my vehicle the interior was dry but as soon as I turned right water began to pour from the control panel on the ceiling.
