The throttle body control failed which caused the vehicle to have no power just idle. It failed at a time when I wasn-??t in a dangerous spot it failed in my neighborhood. But it makes the vehicle with no power when pushing on the gas. Talked to dealer and they said yes they can just go out like a light bulb. If I was making a turn or merging into traffic it would have been extremely dangerous. Searching online this seems to be a common problem with these suddenly going out.

Driving down Interstate 80 at 70mph and Track Assist error, then Hill Start Assist Unavailable Error, Wrench light (see manual), engine light. I depress the gas pedal and there is no response, the engine rpm does not increase. I have to pull off to the side of the interstate, towing a boat, luckily not in construction zone ahead with concrete barriers on both sides. Turn off and restart, the engine / rpm still do not respond. Turned off for 5 minutes while I make a call. Turn on again and rough idle but the engine responds and I am able to drive the remaining 15 miles to home. Exact thing happened again 4 days later on 2 lane, hilly, country highway without a shoulder. I stopped in the road, hazards on, turned off/on again, didn't respond to gas. Wait 5 minutes turned on again and was able to get to home.

Truck will stall/shut off at a stop while towing. Red battery light will show on dashboard. Car will turn over then shut down again by itself within a few seconds. This happened 3 times at this point- once while in gas station in line to get gas (stationary) once at intersection (stationary at stop light), another time after stopping vehicle to get gas. At first event 30 minutes after it not working a jump started the vehicle successfully, at second instance jump would not start car, had to get towed, at third instance we were able to start vehicle by holding throttle down while putting in drive. Brought to Ford dealership- said nothing was wrong, would not work on truck, said no computer codes were found.

I was recently pulling a travel trailer down a mountain pass with my 2016 F150 with the 3.5L ecoboost engine. The vehicle went into limp mode losing power to the motor, the travel trailer started 'fish tailing'!! the 2 vehicles behind me locked up their brakes (could visibly see smoke), the third vehicle was slower to react and pulled out and passed all 3 of us narrowly avoiding a head on collision! I took the truck to the service shop and it was determined to be the throttle body and it was replaced....for the 4th time in 94,000 miles!!! the previous 2 times this happened to me the same problem occurred (vehicle went into limp mode), but those times I was driving 75mph down a 5 lane freeway and had to crossover 5 lanes of traffic with no power to my engine! vehicles swerving everywhere, people locking up their brakes....minor miracle there were no accidents. I've filed complaints to Ford on each occasion and they've done nothing about it! it's a common, well known problem that Ford is aware of and somebody is eventually going to die because of this issue! asking for help!

On 9/6/2020, while driving approx 60mph on hwy 128 between jal and carlsbad nm, the brake pedal on my 2016 Ford F150 lariat went to the floor and I had no brakes. A message on my dash came up saying to add brake fluid and I did. I took my truck to the nearest dealership, carslbad Ford Lincoln. The master cylinder and booster had a recall and was replaced, but the brake fluid that leaked into the engine was never addressed by the service and repair center. As a result, I now have over $6,000 worth of collateral damage to my engine that the dealership is refusing to fix because I'm being blamed for the damages for adding brake fluid to the resevoir. It's beyond obvious that the only way any brake fluid leaked into the engine was due to the damaged manufacturer part(s), the master cylinder and the booster, that were not only damaged but in recall status - recall# 20S31. The GM and service manager of the carslbad Ford Lincoln dealership have the power, the support and backing of a behemoth. They have the full support of the great american auto giant Ford Motor Company and I have 100% nothing and nobody! there has to be some law or some thing to protect your everyday innocent tax paying american citizen from being taken advantage of by people who work for these powerful entites and/or companies. I'm writing this complaint on 9/27 and they've had my truck since 9/12; just over two weeks. I'm issuing this complaint because I literally cannot pay for the $6,212 worth of repairs that Ford Motor Co is accountable and responsible for. Also, with (2) blown turbo chargers, tube asy, converter asy, sensors etc which all need to be replaced; my truck is not safe for me to drive and other citizens communting with or without their families on american highways shouldn't be subjected to this unsafe vehicle being on the road.

Vehicle suddenly lost power while driving both from a stop and at highway speeds. I shut off vehicle and restarted it which seemed to temporarily solve the problem only to have it reoccur days later. Engine code registered on the dash display. Code was retrieved (P2112) which correlates to a faulty throttle body. Ford has acknowledged this problem with an extended warranty replacement, but my local dealership will not replace the throttle body, so I was forced to replace it myself and pay for the faulty part. My vehicle had less than 36,000 miles at the time of this incident. When the vehicle loses power in traffic, it is definitely a life, health, safety issue. There are numerous examples that can be found on the internet of this defective part/throttle body on various Ford vehicles. I feel that Ford should initiate a recall for obvious safety reasons. Ford has put out various tsb's regarding this documented problem.

While driving on a highway on 8/30/20, the truck experienced a complete loss of forward motion, began "bucking" and codes and warnings started appearing on the dashboard. Were able initially to coast to a safer location to stop. Truck would not move although the engine was running. Turned the truck off, restarted and all codes disappeared. However, as soon as we started again, within a quarter mile, same failure occurred. In 20 miles, this happened approximately 6 more times and we could not get safely off the road (no shoulders with ditch on side) having to come to a complete stop, turn engine off and restart the vehicle while in the traffic lane. Very unsafe and we were lucky not to be hit by passing vehicles. After researching what this possible could be, found it likely that it was a failure of the electronic throttle body, which was the subject of a recall in previous year models of this vehicle as well as a customer satisfaction action #16B32 for replacement of the electronic throttle body for our year of manufacture. (our truck was manufactured in dearborn during the period that this action was to be taken 8/1/15 through 5/17/16.) made appointment at local dealer and our truck was serviced yesterday at pittsville Ford in pittsville md and the diagnosis was the electronic throttle body failure. The etb and gasket were replaced at a cost to us of $551.14. I have seen online threads of others having this same failure and want to know why ours was not part of a recall or other, longer customer satisfaction action, as this could have caused a severe or even fatal accident. Very dangerous to have this type of catastrophic failure with no warning at all. I have reported this issue for Ford and my questions regarding why this was not already replaced and have been assigned a case number - cas-27541116. Told our VIN was not a part of this action. How?

I was driving down the road and engine lost complete power, but the engine was still running. I was able to get off the road and shut the engine off and restart it. This happened again a couple of weeks later. I called the Ford dealer on Saturday and was informed that it was probably a throttle body issue. I was able to get an appointment on Monday, but this problem occurred again about 10 times over the weekend. In my opinion this should be a safety recall as this issue could occur while passing on a narrow tow lane road, going through an intersection, crossing a railroad track, etc.,. from an internet research I I found that Ford has issued tsb 16-0139 on October 10, 2016 and there were numerous comments from others having the same problem. In fact the maintenance manager at Ford told me this had happened to him twice.

Related to tsb-16-0139. While driving: Hill start assist unavailable message; service advancetrac message. Wrench icon, traction icon, and check engine icon displayed. Truck went into limp mode. Rough idle, would not accelerate until turned off and back on. Dealership diagnosed to replace throttle bodies. Would not cover under extended warranty I believe there may have been a recall on some F150S, but it didn't include my month/year of manufacture, to the best of my knowledge.

Highway driving at 55 mph, ding and message "service advancetrac", "hill start assist not available". throttle unresponsive and truck immediately begins slowing. Managed to get off road without an accident. Engine running roughly in idle. Turn engine off and restart. Operates normally. This has occurred 3 times and puts the vehicle and passengers in an extremely unsafe position! internet research indicates that this is a common issue with Ford throttle bodies. Ford company and dealership refuse to acknowledge that this is a common problem. Trouble code shows P2112.

I was operating my 2016 Ford F150 on a secondary gravel rd at 30 mph in 2wd. Upon going a slight uphill grade, the vehicle lost all acceleration and came to a stop idling roughly at 1000 RPM. The wrench light, hill decent and traction control warning light illuminated. The engine idled but would not accelerate. I shut off the engine and restarted it. This seemed to correct the problem clearing the error codes. However, continuing on the road, the same problem occurred 3 miles later. I was in a remote area in the state and had to travel 60 miles to a urban area. This problem occurred at least 20 more times with greater frequency until arriving at my residence. The vehicle was repaired by the Ford dealership in sheridan, wy. The fix was as follows. Diag, P2112-throttle actuator a control system, stuck closed, pinpoint to throttle body. Replaced throttle body, cleared codes. My vehicle had 38,450 miles when this incident occurred on October 17, 2019, 4:30 pm. After doing some research with other Ford F150 owners, this appears to be a prominent problem and in my mind, a dangerous one. Most of the incidences appear to happen in the similar mileage range but in other model years, 2017 and 2018 were prevalent also. The Ford service manager related he had done allot of these repairs recently. Their is no recall for this issue at this time.

While using my vehicle under normal conditions the check engine light came on so I had vehicle checked at autozone and O'reily's which showed 2 different codes and took it to machaik dealership. Turns out I had to have both cylinder heads replace, crankshaft bolt replaced as well as a few other items. I was told it was an issue that Ford was aware of and didn't notify me of it when I bout the vehicle. They covered the cost due to the vehicle being under warranty which was about $5,000. $ months later I got my vehicle back and about 30 miles of driving 55mph it started blowing a thick cloud of white smoke with some grey smoke. I take the vehicle home and let it sit for 28 days before I have to use it and after about 23 miles it started smoking again. I take it to the same dealership again and I told them about the smoking issue, rough idle and the exhaust smells like gas which is not normal. I showed them a video of the issue which contains my mileage at the time and my license plate which clearly shows my vehicle so they cannot say it wasn't my vehicle. Waiting for the results of their findings and plan to update the complaint. I will not upload the video at this time due to it containing my license plate, don't know how to upload it from phone and I don't know how to edit that out. If it is necessary to update this complaint I will upload the video as proof as well as work order from previous and current work.my mileage will not be 100% accurate but it will be within 400 miles plus or minus

Behavior matches the issues described in Ford recall 16B32. When I accelerate the vehicle the engine occasionally stops accelerating and goes into a failure mode where I cannot accelerate. A few warnings show up on the dashboard related to hill start assist and being disabled and to service advance track. Turning the car off and back on resolves the problem, but this is very dangerous as I'm usually accelerating to get onto a highway where it's not safe to have my vehicle stop. From the description of the recall my vehicle should be included in 16B32 (manufactured between 8/31/15 to 4/27/16 in Kansas City), but Ford tells me my VIN is not listed as affected. This problem has occurred twice now and it is unpredictable in when it will occur. A quick google search of "hill start assist failure" shows a large number of other Ford owners with the exact same problem.
