The F-150 was sitting in the driveway and I noticed that the rear window was in the process of shattering and falling out. There was a bulge on the drivers side and glass had fallen off the edge about three quarters of the way around the window. Temperature was 88 with clouds and the truck was in the shade. I opened the passenger rear door and the complete rear window, except the sliding window(electrically operated) was completely shattered. As I shut the rear door, glass started falling out of the bulged area, I called all star Ford in kilgore, tx, who sold the truck to me and they were no help. I had the extended warrenty, but glass is not covered.

The rear windshield of my 2017 F150, has randomly exploded and shattered into a million different pieces. This occurrence has happened 2 times now. Both times there was no external cause for the window shattering. The first occurrence happened while closing the drivers door when the car was parked, the other occurrence had while simply driving in a neighborhood road. There's not explanation for why the rear windshield explodes, nor is Ford willing to cover it.
- Austin, TX, USA
Was using my remote start with rear window defrost this morning. As I was standing outside the truck and my wife was inside with all doors shut, the rear windshield spontaneously shattered. The truck was not moving and there was impact to the window.

Vehicle was parked in my garage and not started. Owner opened the front passenger side door to retrieve items located in the passenger seat. When owner closed the door, the back window of the vehicle exploded outward. This caused small pieces of shattered glass to land inside the truck bed and fall between the cab and bed of the truck. As vehicle was being driven to the Ford dealership and back home, small pieces of glass were dispersed within the cab of the truck across the back seat. The window had no previous damage and the truck remains parked in owner's garage except when in use. No environmental factors contributed to this event.

Got to work and parked my 2017 Ford F150. Came out 4 hours later and my back window was completely shattered. The slider was not touched but the rest looked like it had exploded from the inside out. My truck was parked where nothing could have hit it. If I had been driving while this window shattered I may have wrecked into another vehicle or person or gotten seriously injured or killed. Ford needs to recall these defective back windows as numerous complaints by consumers are everywhere you look. Come on Ford. Make it right!

Rear window blow out. I turned on my vehicle this morning to warm up. I turned on the defrosters and went back inside for approximately 2 minutes. When I came back outside I could smell a electrical type burning smell. I am a firefighter and am familiar with this odor. No smoke or flames ever present/visible. I turned then suddenly heard a loud pop, realizing that both sides of my rear window had completely shattered. The vehicle was not moving. No one was in the vehicle and I was the only one near it. Nothing hit the window and I had never had the smell in my truck before.
- Eagle Mountain, UT, USA
Remote started vehicle this morning. Reached in to turn on defroster and went back into garage. About 3 minutes later, I heard a "pop" looked over and my back glass had shattered on both sides. Inside smelt of burning and there was wires exposed from the glass.

The halogen headlights are terrible! I live in a place that is very dark during the winter months and these headlights are close to night having the lights on. I had to change them over to high intensity led bulbs, which isn't an easy chore, that made it better but Ford, with all the new fangled technology out there, should put better headlights in its vehicles.

The windshield wipers malfunction due to the steel key stop falling out of the keyway causing the wipers to bounce and loose contact with the windshield impending visibility during heavy and light rain this has been addressed by a Ford dealer who informed me at present Ford indicates that this condition is unrepairable.the present design where the key is inserted into the wiper arm and not the knurled knob of the wiper arm transmission has an inherent flaw do to the fact that the key can fall out due to viberation and gravity. When wipers are operating, this could result in a fatal accident due to lack of visibility. The key can fall out when the vehicle is moving or stationary. Now to address the paint issues, the paint on this new vehicle is pitting and flaking off in several areas yet Ford insists that this is not a warranty issue and is customer pay I short Ford is refusing to honor basic warranty issues/invoice number C24254
